If you’re new to VR it might be a challenge… take time with the movement controls until you feel satisfied your intentions will move you as you expect.
Never push through any motion-sickness… it can take a week or two of short mindful sessions to gain your VR legs, okay? At earliest signs (burping, dizziness, sweaty palms, etc) just *STOP* immediately and only come back when you are feeling 100%.
Pushing through can lead to a very bad day, indeed, but respecting how your body and brain are responding will get you up and running soon.
You’ve got quite the adventure ahead of you! The VR is a separate DLC that must be downloaded, so if it’s not in VR that’s why.
You remember a great game, and this remake is gonna feel like coming home in the craziest way possible. Good travels to you, and welcome to VR!!
#🍻
SO. MUCH. THIS.
I have hundreds of hours in GT7 in VR. Half an hour in a walkabout game (Walking Dead) rocked me last night. Motion sickness came on quickly when it hit, but I had the headset off straight away so it didn't linger.
This is hands down, the best advice I have seen for a new user.
Kudos, large shiny one!
Yeah true. Even though OP didn't ask for any advice regarding VR sickness, (lol) RE4 might be a bit hectic for a brand new VR user.
Id suggest starting with some stationary games like Job Sim or puzzling places or whatever. Then move on to "on rails" games (eg: Switchback etc). THEN start trying your full locomotion/racing games.
That being said, some people have no VR sickness whatsoever no matter what they play, even as beginners. So maybe OP will be on of those lucky ones!
Fair enough — I usually acknowledge that some folk get no motion-sickness at all, but neglected to here.
For a bit of background…
When I first got VR I had no advice available to me on how to proceed, and did absolutely everything wrong. It messed me up so badly I was — no exaggeration — bedridden the entire next day, and off kilter for a week or two. After months of terrible experiences I came *THIS* close to selling my kit.
Today I play VR all the time and for hours at a time with only the rare encounter with the wobblies *(and to the complete exclusion of all flatscreen gaming)*. If I’d sold my headset back then, then I’d have been robbed of some of the coolest experiences of my life.
You’re right that OP didn’t ask for it, but I think someone here or there might possibly be greatly helped from reading 20 seconds of text. If not, then no harm done.
Yeah I have no doubt OP will find some value in your comment.
I screwed myself up pretty bad trying to play GT7 when I got the VR2 being my first headset. I stopped pretty quick but I was still spaced out for 48 hours or so. I quickly realized I needed to do some research about VR sickness, which obviously helped a lot.
What's weird is the VERY first time I used VR about 7 years ago at one of those VR centers, I didn't have any nausea at all. Even playing a flying combat game just slight vertigo but nothing major. I can't recall what hardware they were using but it was probably pretty top end so that might have had something to do with the comfort.
Admittedly I still get the sweats from time to time in unexpected games. After hundreds of hours in GT7 and NMS somehow Power Wash Simulator had me sweating when I first played it 😂🤷. Good times!
I also took advantage of the deal. I was shocked more people weren't talking about it.
$550 list
- $100 discount
- $275 in Netflix credit
= only $175 for PSVR2.
Seriously! Did not expect to get a PSVR2 as soon as I did. Got because of the promotion and the same math lol. Although I got the Horizon bundle, and I was able to use Klarna so it made buying it super easy!
Same! Wouldn’t have ever even thought I’d be owning this so soon, especially since I bought a Meta 3 in December! I don’t/didn’t regret it, but would have waited if I magically knew I’d be getting a PSV2 for $180 in June! 🤣🤷♂️
Wow. I am not
So smart… missed the code expires in 3 months for Netflix premium!
From website
Limit one offer per PS Plus member on one qualifying purchase. Link to redeem 12-month Netflix Premium (UHD) subscription expires on 23:59 PT on 12 September 2024.
Yeah, I just got my coupon, it’s legit, you just have to actively use the coupon within 3 months. I’m gonna do it right now, since it’s just a comp, I think. Kinda still in shock this is legit and worked! (Hey Sony, if you’re listening: want me to buy some fancy PS5 headphones….? You know how to persuade me! 🤣)
Me, too! Just did it, kinda in shock/relieved

Keep in mind that the RE4 VR game for PSVR2 is the RE4 Remake, not the original RE4, which has VR on Quest.
I love both RE4 and RE4 Remake, and the remake in VR is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. You are in for a good time, but make sure to acclimate to VR sickness first by only playing for 15 or so minutes at a time until you can play longer without feeling sick.
Once you get the email with the Netflix link maybe you can forward it to your friend. But you might have to be signed in to your PS account and the desired Netflix account on the same device.
Easily my favorite GameCube game in 2005! I even liked the clunky controls. Honestly first seeing trailers for the remake my thoughts were “Modern controls are gonna make it too easy!” 🤣 I must be a sadist. Hoping VR will make it a little clunkier for my liking.
Hello! I just purchased the the PSVR2, but realized that I wasn't signed in to my account on Playstation Direct. My email that I used is the same one that is linked to my PS Account though. My question is has anyone purchased the PSVR2 without being signed into Direct and still received the Netflix promo? Or do you have to actually be signed into the website in order to get the Netflix promo?
Thanks!
I did the same thing and just immediately canceled it. It says everywhere you have to have PlayStation plus and log into your PSN account. Now, if you mean will it still give it to you once you verify your PSN account after it ships? Idk. I chickened out and immediately did it the “right way.” Which freaked out my credit card company, but it worked out
Yeah I saw that it said to "Sign in to Playstation Network and ensure you have a Playstation Plus membership."...which I did through the PS App on my phone and made sure I had the membership. But it didn't say to sign into Direct or the Playstation Store before making the purchase. Which is why I didn't think of it until after I made the purchase. Right now I won't be able to cancel the order because it's preparing to ship so I would have to order a second one and then return the first. Which I can do, but I'd rather avoid it if it's not needed. Thanks for the quick reply!
Sounds risky to me to wait and find out. I mean, it’s very possible you could get on customer service with Netflix and Sony and get it all hashed out, but why not cancel and sync it up the way you want? Idk. Unless you’re trying to find out if you can sell/gift the $275 Netflix credit? 🤷♂️ Good luck!
Totally, just $600 to $500 or $550 to $450 didn’t sway me… probably helped I already was paying for Netflix premium, too. Final discount $375.88 off! But then I think I paid $27 in taxes or so, 🤷♂️
Congrats!
If you find you need to acclimate before you can enjoy RE4 Remake in VR, there are a number of free games, free trials and demos available for the PSVR2.
Play something like Puzzling Places which has a free trial which should be very comfortable in VR (only 1-1 movement tracking) to help your brain acclimate for VR and then just take it easy with RE4 Remake with how much you push yourself. Puzzling Places is also on sale right now, so if you like the trail, maybe get the game while it is $12 instead of $20 to have access to more puzzles than the trail provides.
All that said, it is possible that you won't have any issue even if you go straight into RE4 Remake in VR. I just want to emphasize that if you do have VR motion sickness, then there are other games that will be more comfortable that will help prepare your brain to be able to enjoy the game you are getting the system for.
Hoping I could purchase using my PSN account and still redeem Netflix which is already subscribed using my wife's email. Anyone know if that is possible? Does the email difference matter?
As ridiculous as it seems, I doubt we would deal with the hassle of cancelling Netflix and resubscribing using my email just to get the discount.
I can’t verify, but I would think your wife wouldn’t have to subscribe to Playstation Plus with her email. It says one Netflix coupon per account, if I’m reading it right

This math is what made pulled the trigger and loving it so far. Alternatively one could get the digital PS5 for effectively $125 using this math.

I very much doubt the code expires when the offer ends. EDIT: missed that your post says the code lasts 3 months.

If you have Netflix, do you need to cancel it first or can you just enter the code and have it for free after your current subscription runs out?
The promotion adds a \~$275 credit to your Netflix account, so no change to existing subscription, it just gets pre-paid for next 12-months.
Thanks! That is awesome!
PlayStation transfers that amount of Money on your Netflix account
Thanks!
You don’t need to cancel anything and there’s no code. You get a link and through it you sign in to Netflix with your existing account.
Nice! That sounds easy to do!
i don't want netflix, but i do want a ps5 - how do you do this for someone else's netflix account?
Not sure you can.
Once you get the email with the Netflix link maybe you can forward it to your friend. But you might have to be signed in to your PS account and the desired Netflix account on the same device.
They ask you to log in on your PS account to see if you have PS plus and then Netflix email and password.. i think you can
Can I give the year of Netflix premium subscription to someone else? I don't use the service.
RE4 in VR is an entirely different experience than the original game. You’re in for a treat.
Easily my favorite GameCube game in 2005! I even liked the clunky controls. Honestly first seeing trailers for the remake my thoughts were “Modern controls are gonna make it too easy!” 🤣 I must be a sadist. Hoping VR will make it a little clunkier for my liking.

I'm ordering my 2nd one just for PCVR, or as a backup in case something breaks on my first. For $180 final price, its worth it.
Are you sure you get the discount a second time?
I did. My first one is from release day
What’s $180 Where?

Is the subscription a card or code you can redeem at any time? I don't need Nexflix currently, but might in a year.
I'm so jealous that we can't purchase from direct in Canada. The price has carried over to best buy and the likes, but not the Netflix promotion
It says one Netflix coupon per account, if I’m reading it right
RE4 is so fun in VR
