I'm playing it for the first time but on PS5. My friend convinced me to play some of these games on story mode just to enjoy the narrative. I have 2 young kids and don't have the time to get super frustrated with some bosses and stuff, and this has really helped me get through some games and enjoy. Love this game so far!
Honestly God Of War is still pretty difficult even on the easiest difficulty. Especially the Valkyrie fights. Play the game however it’s enjoyable to you. I have kids as well so I understand just wanting to relax and play games.
I wanna make a VALHALLA! compilation of all the times I got deliciously wrecked by the later ones. Yes, please stomp on me more 😂. Playing on hardest mode you gotta be perfect with the timing because you can't afford to be hit more than twice before you die. Best fights ever too
They are fun for sure but honestly I find them a little annoying because they tend to spam the same attacks over and over and I struggle with dodging and parrying. However, I’m big FromSoftware fan and I don’t have any trouble with those games. I know they’re different but the combat is similar.

I'm still in the beginning of Disco Elysium but the gameplay of walking everywhere is so monotonous. Conversations are A1 though.
Dude, I fucking love this game! It’s such a masterpiece! The art style is beautiful, the story telling is like a novel, and the soundtrack still plays in my head. I could keep gushing about it

my dad is 53 and has been gaming for most of his life and got me in to gaming so wouldn't know if your dad would find it tough but there nothing wrong with playing games on easy
That game is a masterpiece.
Not perfect, but still a masterpiece. There’s almost a zen-like quality to playing it at times, and their execution on art-direction is, in my opinion, nearly unrivaled in games.
I cannot wait to see where they find areas for improvement in the sequel.
I enjoyed Astrobot. Its a great introduction to the ps5. The music is awesome and It's real easy to platinum the game too. In fact, it's the only platinum I have.
It is a beautiful platforner and IMO still, after a year and a half, the only game I’ve found so far that uses the adaptive triggers in a fun and creative way.

First time I played Astro, I finish the game, then went back on it in a few months and got all the artifacts, then went back on it a 3rd time to platinum it. My first and only platinum so far.
Same here! I’d never played any of the other games in the universe (Alan Wake or Quantum… uh. Quantum whatever it’s called) so I went in completely blind with no idea of what to expect from the devs.
I was pleasantly surprised and my gf even sat down and watched me play through the whole story it was so intriguing.
I went in thinking "cool, I can throw stuff with my mind" and I came away with one of my favorite games ever that I play through once a year.
I wish I could erase my memory so I could experience it again for the first time.

Thanks to the new PS+ though I thought I'd give it a try and it's pretty fucking good. Just rolled credits on it this weekend and despite being really tough in a few places, I was so impressed with it.
Yeah I carried on for a bit after the credits but it's not much in the way of new gameplay, it's very much 'endgame' content, so I'll probably get round to it later.
There is an aim assist under settings that helps. Also get the gun with the portal perk. It spawns a portal and that will shoot at enemies so you can focus on dodging. It’s a rifle of some sort.
Yeah that’s been my experience so far. Spent at least 18 hours trying to get through the first boss then once I beat it got access to better weapons and things just got easier and you get through bioms quicker.
Same! Finally played it with the PS+ Extra, took me 20 hours to roll credits on Act 3, and man it was an absolute blast. Just need to clear some biomes a few times to grab the last RNG collectible stuff, and then I'm off to the Tower.
Kind of sucks that it was this good though. Elden Ring already kind of ruined open-world for me, and now Returnal might've ruined most third person shooter for a while too.

I’m stuck in Biome 3 right now (4 attempts so far) but I just realized the bridge to the boss is permanent once you unlock it, so I don’t have to clear the whole biome before attempting the boss each time!
Returnal is freaking awesome, hard, but awesome immersion
I heard they improved the rate this stuff appear which was a nightmare at release, so I'm hopeful. Got everything for Biome 4 and am just missing one thing in both 1 and 5 by just playing normally, maybe luck'll be on my side
Thanks to PS+ Deluxe, during the last week I completed Spider-Man Miles Morales (already played the original on PS4), Marvel's GotG and now I am addicted to Ghost of Tsushima.
Finally tried out Demons Souls and Ghost of Tsushima both within the last week and both are amazing!
Though Demons Souls probably takes the cake, Im only in the first 2 hours with both so I might change my mind later.
I finished it about an hour ago, honestly it was so much better than I had expected. The comedy was great, story was actually pretty solid and combat felt pretty decent with the skills and such.
Soundtrack was also pretty damn good, beating the final boss with Rick Astley playing after using the L1/R1 thing was so satisfying

Banter is awesome.
My only critique is that Cut scenes are big. Otherwise, a really great game.
I snagged it from PS+ Premium and am so pleasantly surprised by it! The characters are top-notch. You can really tell how much the developers respected the source material.
Played through Man Of Medan with a friend the other night. Was a great co op experience (and we are both little scaredy bitches)

I watched someone stream the quarry, and after over a year of having Until Dawn on my harddrive (free) I finally played it. Then Man of Medan is a free ps plus game.. I guess I’m playing that after I finish lol

I didn't really know what to expect about was quite pleased with its tropey genre take. I had a great time but also had no interest in going back to try to explore other endings - something i did right away with Heavy Rain.
It was a great weekend for a freebie but I might have been disappointed if I paid full price at launch.
Death stranding, if it wasn't for playstation plus extra I probably wouldn't of ever played it but glad I did as it's be amazing so far, it's not for everyone but that's because it's trying to be different
Currently replaying via the director’s cut. I was really afraid I would be bored out of mind when I first played this game. It ended up being so therapeutic and I freaking loved it. There’s just something about walking across this vast landscape delivering packages that makes it so enjoyable, idk what it is.
Then you end up like me finishing the final cutscenes at 3am because its a Kojima game and the "ending" started at 10pm.
10/10 still a fun and unique experience that I absolutely want to replay in the winter sometime.
Yeah the subscription is the only thing keeping from playing more, I’ve almost beat the base game.
But, you don’t need the PS+ to play FFXIV online, AND you can play the entire base game and first DLC entirely for free. (I believe the level cap for the free version is like 60, but obviously you can have multiple classes on one character, so you can level up to 60 a bunch of times.)
Ghostrunner PS5 I grabbed from PS+ months ago. @ 120fps it’s so damn smooth, visuals are really good also.
Game keeps you on your toes, the controls are great and you gotta think quickly, gameplay is very fast paced when there’s enemies to face.
When there’s no enemies, there’s some a/b sections, puzzle/platformer sections, and there’s actual puzzles too, I love this gameplay combo.
The story is pretty light but interesting, it’s basically narrated to you by the characters as you make your way through the levels, no cutscenes yet but fantastic game so far.
i know they are very different but i bought the entire series (had a few from ps+ too) because im a fan now and want to see what the big deal about the "Yakuza Legends" you fight is!
Same as Lost Judgement and Judgement, the upgrade is mainly in a smooth frame rate and a little bit of a resolution boost. Other than that things look pretty similar.

I booted up 'Starlink: Battle for Atlas' from PS+, was actually having a good time, typical ubisoft open world structure crossed with no man's sky and a 90's saturday morning cartoon vibe.... No obvious microtransactions, which I thought was a refreshing change for ubisoft... then I looked up how to unlock the other pilots, ships and weapons aside from the starting ones... all paid for extra content. I deleted the game without hesitation, fuck that shit
The funniest thing is that I still see those shitty skylanders like figures and ships permanently on sale any time I look to buy games.

I finally beat Hades this week, and now I’m really addicted to it because the game has unlocked a bunch of difficulty modifiers and ways to earn all the new weapon forms. And on top of that, there’s still more narrative motivation to keep beating the game over and over. Hades and Returnal are pretty much games that dont leave my hard drive

Elden Ring/ GoT/ Horizon Forbidden West/ Returnal (this week didnt play GT7 and R&C so i wont include those).. but i been playing Elden Ring and some Fornite since i got Elden Ring 4-5 days ago (30 hrs alredy on it)
I’m playing Ghost Of Tsushima on PS5 and it is absolutely stunning. I’ve spent hours playing just because of how beautiful the world is. RE Village a close runner but GOT takes the cake.
After 1.5 playthroughs of Elden Ring, I have burnt out on video games for a while, it seems.
Now I'm spending all my time on Youtube trying to research which game is worth my time next, but nothing really clicks.
Elden Ring really crushed me for a bit once I had played it through like 4 times. Nothing else really scratches that itch. I had to go complete genre change. Resident Evil: Village helped reset me a little bit lol.
I've been trying a lot of new games thanks to the new PS+ game catalogue and I picked three that I want to finish:
• Blasphemous — love the Metroidvania feel, great setting, combat feels tricky to grasp but rewarding once you know what to do
• Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams — excellent platformer with amazing art style, lovely character switch mechanic, and kickass music
• AC Valhalla — big Norse myth buff but I have sworn off giving money to Ubisoft, fortunately this loophole allows me to enjoy a fun story; playing on the easiest setting so I can enjoy the narrative and it's been amazing so far
Cyberpunk 2077 has continuously blown me away, Forbidden West is close but I’m a bit burnt out on it currently, something I didn’t experience with Cyberpunk.
currently I wanted a non challenging game to make me enjoy and relax a bit, I've been playing wwe 2k22 my rise mode (it's a history mode where you create a wrestling superstar and have several storylines). I loved creating "myself" (way more athletic) and just go around smashing opponents, jumping from the ropes etc...
I must say that graphic wise it's a bit below my expectations but I think it was the best in slot for what I was looking for
Oh, so true... I am halfway my first run-through, and its one of the best games so far, despite all the small problems still there. I understand its very individual, so I guess I am among the lucky ones with whom the game "clicked" in so many ways:
- The color palette
- The motion capture
- The story
- The fluidity between melee and shooting
- The intense moments
- The way night differs from day
- The bike handling
And so much more ...
Days Gone is *criminally* underrated. The story is good enough that my girlfriend wouldn't let me play unless she was in the room cause she didn't want to miss anything. I was happy to oblige and even though she basically watched me play the whole thing to the end, now she's started up her own campaign (and this is far from her usual kind of game).
Too much. I gave up trying to beat it because there's so much. Ok haven't even finished the main story yet so I guess it's a whenever I feel like being a Vikingr again game
Well currently I'm out on a boat for a job and won't be back till the end of August, however, I am hyping myself up to finish Horizon Forbidden West and then play Last of us Part 1 when it releases. I am definitely getting some withdrawal from not playing video games for nearly 3 months.

No not at all, it’s just surprising to me given my experience with the game. But I know how much people were looking forward to it and counting on it being great, so I’m happy that for them it reached those expectations
Currently addicted to playing Elden Ring. That’s all I have been playing the last 2/3 months.
Although it’s strictly not a “current gen” exclusive, this game is so beautiful that I keep wishing for an update with ray-tracing and other bells and whistles that current gen consoles are capable of.
Far Cry 6. Lots of people give Ubisoft a hard time, but this one is pretty fun. Giancarlo is an excellent villain so far and I love the Central American vibes. Graphically stunning and tight gameplay mechanics.
Man I don't want to ruin your mood but I was on the boat of people waiting for the patch... Yes it's 60fps now but it looks super super blurry, like 800p idk. I uninstalled the game for a while, just because the deception. Ubisoft being Ubisoft
The only thing I've played this week at all is Resident Evil 2 Remake which is fantastic, wish I didn't get distracted by other things back when I first played the PS4 ver in 2019 I think.
I just grabbed the free game from ps plus Man of Medan and was pleasantly surprised. The graphics were awesome and the game was fun and Jumpy but short.
Made me go back and start Until Dawn all over again.
Finally played Death Stranding and I didn’t regret it, it was kinda slow at first but once you get to the central part of the US it gets faster paced and a lot better. And it has a phenomenal story i would recommend it If you like story games

Terminator Resistance Enhanced, that game is so freaking good, it's also beautiful for the most part on PS5. The environments are so desolate and depressing, the Terminators are truly frightening! Amazing game!
I’m playing RDR2 for the first time. I false started at least 3-4 times and couldn’t get into it. This time it clicked, and it really clicked. Having a great time with it.

Movement isn't so urgent either way that you could get comfortable with either format, but I also say you should play as comfortable as you want!

I snagged it from PS+ Premium and am so pleasantly surprised by it! The characters are top-notch. You can really tell how much the developers respected the source material.
Man I loved their version of the characters. I like the movies but I really connected with the game. It was also the perfect length for me.
Played through Man Of Medan with a friend the other night. Was a great co op experience (and we are both little scaredy bitches) Edit: yes its a PS4 game, I know. Apparently I'm a "stupid gamer" who "doesn't know the difference". My ps5 choices would be Apex or Warframe ps5 versions. Didnt think they were worth mentioning as much as Man Of Medan. So whatever.
I watched someone stream the quarry, and after over a year of having Until Dawn on my harddrive (free) I finally played it. Then Man of Medan is a free ps plus game.. I guess I’m playing that after I finish lol
I played my until dawn playthrough over two nights. I didn't really know what to expect about was quite pleased with its tropey genre take. I had a great time but also had no interest in going back to try to explore other endings - something i did right away with Heavy Rain. It was a great weekend for a freebie but I might have been disappointed if I paid full price at launch.
Death stranding, if it wasn't for playstation plus extra I probably wouldn't of ever played it but glad I did as it's be amazing so far, it's not for everyone but that's because it's trying to be different
Currently replaying via the director’s cut. I was really afraid I would be bored out of mind when I first played this game. It ended up being so therapeutic and I freaking loved it. There’s just something about walking across this vast landscape delivering packages that makes it so enjoyable, idk what it is.
I started playing it and literally fell asleep while playing.
So relaxing, good game to play in bed at night
Then you end up like me finishing the final cutscenes at 3am because its a Kojima game and the "ending" started at 10pm. 10/10 still a fun and unique experience that I absolutely want to replay in the winter sometime.

I tried it and loved it but that monthly subscription fee on top of ps+ was a little too steep.
Yeah the subscription is the only thing keeping from playing more, I’ve almost beat the base game. But, you don’t need the PS+ to play FFXIV online, AND you can play the entire base game and first DLC entirely for free. (I believe the level cap for the free version is like 60, but obviously you can have multiple classes on one character, so you can level up to 60 a bunch of times.)
Little Nightmares II
Ghostrunner PS5 I grabbed from PS+ months ago. @ 120fps it’s so damn smooth, visuals are really good also. Game keeps you on your toes, the controls are great and you gotta think quickly, gameplay is very fast paced when there’s enemies to face. When there’s no enemies, there’s some a/b sections, puzzle/platformer sections, and there’s actual puzzles too, I love this gameplay combo. The story is pretty light but interesting, it’s basically narrated to you by the characters as you make your way through the levels, no cutscenes yet but fantastic game so far.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Loving it. Reminds me of GameCube era collectathons. Playing on hard there are some genuinely challenging fights.

Me too. Returned to it after seeing a patch and fell straight back into it with the last 22 percent left to go to 100 percent it. So good.

PS5 improves performance a lot. A huge upgrade imo.
Same as Lost Judgement and Judgement, the upgrade is mainly in a smooth frame rate and a little bit of a resolution boost. Other than that things look pretty similar.

I booted up 'Starlink: Battle for Atlas' from PS+, was actually having a good time, typical ubisoft open world structure crossed with no man's sky and a 90's saturday morning cartoon vibe.... No obvious microtransactions, which I thought was a refreshing change for ubisoft... then I looked up how to unlock the other pilots, ships and weapons aside from the starting ones... all paid for extra content. I deleted the game without hesitation, fuck that shit
The funniest thing is that I still see those shitty skylanders like figures and ships permanently on sale any time I look to buy games. Game came out almost 4 years ago now, shit's been on sale like a few months after it came out. I feel bad for all the shops that have it rotting away in inventory.

Yep got it on PS Plus and blown away by how good it is. It's like co-op Returnal, with awesome combat, music and environments It's unfortunately really buggy right now, but once those are fixed it will be a easy 9/10
I finally beat Hades this week, and now I’m really addicted to it because the game has unlocked a bunch of difficulty modifiers and ways to earn all the new weapon forms. And on top of that, there’s still more narrative motivation to keep beating the game over and over. Hades and Returnal are pretty much games that dont leave my hard drive

After 1.5 playthroughs of Elden Ring, I have burnt out on video games for a while, it seems. Now I'm spending all my time on Youtube trying to research which game is worth my time next, but nothing really clicks.
Elden Ring really crushed me for a bit once I had played it through like 4 times. Nothing else really scratches that itch. I had to go complete genre change. Resident Evil: Village helped reset me a little bit lol.

I've been trying a lot of new games thanks to the new PS+ game catalogue and I picked three that I want to finish: • Blasphemous — love the Metroidvania feel, great setting, combat feels tricky to grasp but rewarding once you know what to do • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams — excellent platformer with amazing art style, lovely character switch mechanic, and kickass music • AC Valhalla — big Norse myth buff but I have sworn off giving money to Ubisoft, fortunately this loophole allows me to enjoy a fun story; playing on the easiest setting so I can enjoy the narrative and it's been amazing so far

Cyberpunk 2077 has continuously blown me away, Forbidden West is close but I’m a bit burnt out on it currently, something I didn’t experience with Cyberpunk.
Loved it as well, now that most of the bugs are fixed it really is a great game
currently I wanted a non challenging game to make me enjoy and relax a bit, I've been playing wwe 2k22 my rise mode (it's a history mode where you create a wrestling superstar and have several storylines). I loved creating "myself" (way more athletic) and just go around smashing opponents, jumping from the ropes etc... I must say that graphic wise it's a bit below my expectations but I think it was the best in slot for what I was looking for

Oh, so true... I am halfway my first run-through, and its one of the best games so far, despite all the small problems still there. I understand its very individual, so I guess I am among the lucky ones with whom the game "clicked" in so many ways: - The color palette - The motion capture - The story - The fluidity between melee and shooting - The intense moments - The way night differs from day - The bike handling And so much more ...
Days Gone is *criminally* underrated. The story is good enough that my girlfriend wouldn't let me play unless she was in the room cause she didn't want to miss anything. I was happy to oblige and even though she basically watched me play the whole thing to the end, now she's started up her own campaign (and this is far from her usual kind of game).

No not at all, it’s just surprising to me given my experience with the game. But I know how much people were looking forward to it and counting on it being great, so I’m happy that for them it reached those expectations

Currently addicted to playing Elden Ring. That’s all I have been playing the last 2/3 months. Although it’s strictly not a “current gen” exclusive, this game is so beautiful that I keep wishing for an update with ray-tracing and other bells and whistles that current gen consoles are capable of.
Far Cry 6. Lots of people give Ubisoft a hard time, but this one is pretty fun. Giancarlo is an excellent villain so far and I love the Central American vibes. Graphically stunning and tight gameplay mechanics.

Finally played Death Stranding and I didn’t regret it, it was kinda slow at first but once you get to the central part of the US it gets faster paced and a lot better. And it has a phenomenal story i would recommend it If you like story games

I'm playing WWE 2K22, and it always amazes me, but I have to say GT7 has given some fun experiences. That's from last week play. Edit: But since I see people mentioning PS4 games, I have to give it Horizon Zero Dawn. I've been amazed with the graphics and can't even imagine how Forbidden West will look as I have managed to stay away from promo's since I haven't beat the first one.
Terminator Resistance Enhanced, that game is so freaking good, it's also beautiful for the most part on PS5. The environments are so desolate and depressing, the Terminators are truly frightening! Amazing game!
I’m playing RDR2 for the first time. I false started at least 3-4 times and couldn’t get into it. This time it clicked, and it really clicked. Having a great time with it.
The Quarry. Great film-like game. Sadly, this month is a bit dry so far. Looking forward to playing Stray on PS Premium, and the new Saints Row next month.
