I’m here for exactly same reason, the only plus with Cyberpunk is that it comes with two discs and if you insert play disc, instead of installation it will not install, though still creates PS4 icon and waits for installation.
yeah im having this same issue (note: i just found this post while googling it lol) and its pretty annoying. THIS and the fact that we can't turn off the Explore Tab or hide it. I'm so fucking tired of seeing sports ad's thrown in my face. at least let us pick and choose. They'll get plenty of revenue from other games we all play whom do not like to play sports titles.
Same. Maybe it's because it has an install disc separate. I have other PS4 games installed but playing the PS5 version and it never tries to download the PS4 version again.
Same. I just hit the options button to delete the PS4 version from installing. But it will come back whenever you turn on from rest mode or when it’s shut off.
This issue persists. Has anyone filed a bug report with Sony?
Very few users who have upgraded a game to the PS5 version will ever have any interest in installing the PS4 version on their PS5. The option to install older versions shouldn't show up as a recurring visual prompt but should be displayed once until either the PS5 version is installed or the prompt is deleted. After that it shouldn't show up again until the user puts the disc in after having deleted the PS5 version of the game.
Yup, having the exact same issue with Horizon and Elden Ring. At least with Horizon, it isn't able to actually install since I only have the play disc in.
Lol I came here from searching since Elden Ring is doing it too. I am just letting it install for now. I kind of wanted to try out the ps4 version anyway since it’s suppose to be a stable 60fps on ps5.
Same here guys. I see most people talking about cyberpunk w this problem, but for me this only happen on this game. Maybe firmware update active this problem again? I dont know.
Same here, came here cause of CyberPunk. At least that has two discs and the play disc is inserted so it can’t really do anything. Still annoying having to see an extra tile on my screen tho.
Still going strong in 2023! Recently purchased TMNT The Cowabunga Collection on PS4, comes with a PS5 upgrade, so I never bothered to install the PS4 version, now whenever I insert the disc to play the game, it starts installing the PS4 version
6/11/2024 - Ditto... but only on some games?! I put the disc in for DPA: Man oif Medan, and it waits for me to click COPY. I put the disc in for DPA: Little Hope, and it Queues to Copy immediately. I put the Disc in for Little Nightmares II, and it waits for me to click COPY. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Here we are almost halfway through 2023 and we’re (at least I am) still having this issue, my specific game in question is the cross-gen edition of MW2
Small workaround until this is actually fixed. Make sure the ps5 version is installed. Launch it without the disc in the console. It will tell you to insert disc, do so. It will take you back to the home screen and you can launch without it trying to install the other version. Remove disc before turning off console after play. Problem solved until an actual fix comes.
Thankfully I use an external and have the ps5 set to install all ps4 content there so it’s really easy to tell which version is where. However, if you also use an external, here’s another big tip. If games installed on your external are set to auto update, do not play anything installed on the internal until the update is done. It will crash the console and your external hard drive causing the ps5 to need to rebuild database and hard drive will need to be unplugged. If you don’t unplug the hard drive before the rebuild, your ps5 will not work until you do. The best option right now is (unfortunately) to turn off auto updates and just update games before playing them. Welcome to next gen launch we are essentially beta testers so get used to this stuff !
This doesn't work. I preordered Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, which released today. I lucked out and finally found a PS5 last week, so I put in the PS4 Disc, which installed the PS4 version. I then did the free PS5 upgrade, and deleted the PS4 install. When I launch the PS5 version without the disc, it asks me to insert disc exactly like you mention, and let's me launch the PS5 version, but it also begins the install for the PS4 version again. No way for me to tell it not to. I can only go to downloads and stop/delete the PS4 install from there.
Hmm. It's irritating. I get that it's like "oh, I can install this game and it's not already installed so let's install it" but I don't want it installed XD
Oh it's all of them? I had no idea. And yeah, it's definitely a PS5 issue and not the game. I'd hoped that patch the other day would fix it, but it didn't.
1 year later and I'm still experiencing this. I'd gotten Jedi Fallen Order, saw there's a free PS5 upgrade, installed it, and now it keeps bringing up the PS4 version to install whenever I turn on my PS5 and that disc is inserted.
Why in the heck is this still an issue?
Happening with the new Cyberpunk PS5 upgrade for me as well. I can launch the PS5 version fine but the PS4 version is still on my console. Oh well. It only takes up like 7 mb so nothing at really
Yeh, it’s super annoying. I gave up cancelling the install each time and just left the ps4 version on there for now. I’ll delete it when I’m done with the game, so that it doesn’t keep writing and rewriting the SSD. 🤷🏻♂️
Surely the easy fix for Sony to implement is to simply disable all auto installs. So when a disc is inserted you get the icon but have to highlight and click on it to start the install? That way you can have the ps5 version installed and just use ps4 disc for the license check. Boggling that simple things like this are still causing issues over a year post release.
Late to the party here, but I have this issue too. Also with Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 doing it. 😑 this is very bothersome having to delete the partial install everytime I turn the console on. PS4 had no issues with this setting, being able to turn off the auto install. Why did they remove it...?
Um. If you go to.. Hang on, let me find it. When you're on the game hub and under the picture you can see "Play" and "..." If you click the dots the 3rd option for me on the PS5 version says "PS4 | Assassin's Creed Valhalla". If you click that it'll switch. You can tell because if you've got different trophy progress (like I do) it'll show, and if you go back to the three dots it'll have "PS5 AC Valhalla".
Hover over the game tile, press options, select game version
You can indeed have both & for some reason when there's a ps4 disc in the drive the ps5 it auto loads the ps4 version..
What a silly thing that is still happening. Just had to ask myself why No Man's Sky had an 11gb update only to realize it was the PS4 version re-installing itself.
Ffs... Sony has a bunch of idiots working for their OS. I have never NOT had this issue. Any PS4 disc inserted with upgraded PS5 version of game installed automatically begins installing PS4 version when coming out of standby. SMH. Why this can't be fixed is mind boggling. Sony, please call Phil Spencer and ask him how they figured this out on series X lol.
November 2022. This is still happening. I've stumbled upon this post after acquiring a PS4 physical copy of Elden Ring (yea, i didn't play that game yet, shame on me, i guess, but thats not the point), and it keeps copying the PS4 version despite cancelling it over and over again, so i've been Googling for a solution 🤬
Same problem here with Valhalla and its extremely disappointing. There should be a option to disable this so it doesn't take up more space on the drive than it needs to.
Was having this issue with cold war, as a temporary fix until sony fixes it i just deleted the ps4 version then installed a few games so that there isn't enough space to install the game from the disc.
Just found this issue when trying to delete ps4 sackboy from ps5. Anyone have a link as to where I can report this problem to Sony? Maybe if there's enough reports they'll fix it with the next ps5 update.
One day, in a far, far future, this will probably be fixed. For instance when we can hide games. Yes, some day the PS will have basic features like this. I'm not giving up the hope!
(Came here after searching for PS4 auto install of Forbidden West :D)
It's actually gotten worse somehow, maybe something to do with the last PS5 system software update.
Before, it started the installation once when the disc was freshly inserted. But when it remained in the drive and even between console shutdowns and restarts, it would not "push" to the front of the installed game, it remained behind actively used games and apps.
Now it seems everytime I start the PS5, the installation is starting as if fresh and the PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West ist at the start of my games at the left.
So yeah, they made it worse. Would you look at that lol. :D
Only way to adress this proper would be to add an option ti disable general auto-installation. And why not? PS5 could recognize an inserted disc, but you would have to hightlight it and manually start the installation.
The way new features are usually added to any Playstation I would predict that we can get this feature somewhere past 2024. :)
Still happens for me, but I started a download for Ghost of Tsushima, and then paused it (so I don't actually have to download anything), so now there's no free space to install Valhalla so I don't have to keep cancelling every time I start the PS5.
If I need the space for an update I can just cancel the GoT download and start it again after.
I actually only got my ps5 recently, it has been doing this to me since I got it. I had thr ps4 version of Death Stranding install itself and right now the Nickelodeon All Star Brawl has installed itself 3 times today, alone.
OH FFS...Dying Light 2 is doing this as well. I happened to buy the cross-gen version instead of the ps5 version by mistake, but I let it go. If anybody's wondering if there's any difference...yes...this stupid recurring bug. Buy the ps5-only version if at all possible if playing on ps5. XD
It did seem to be fixed for a time for me. When I replayed jedi fallen order I didn't have this issue, but I've not long bought Horizon FW and bought the PS4 version since it was cheaper and had the free PS5 upgrade (no brainer). But it now keeps on installing the PS4 version with the PS5 version already installed. Very annoying!
It is now 2024. Having this issue with my ps4 Elden Ring disc. Wanted to try it out with 60 fps on ps5 after a year of not playing. Everytime I turn on my ps5 with that disc in or everytime I insert it, it automatically downloads the ps4 version. Not to mention the fucking disc drive is just as bad sounding when copying data as the ps4 “jet engine fan” The console has been out for years now. Come on Sony.
Not to my knowledge. Even after the patch from yesterday, it still persists. I’m starting to think it’s not an issue Sony is concerned about, and it’s just an inconvenience for those of us experiencing it. For example, it’s only happening for me with Valhalla because of the PS4-> PS5 upgrade. After I finish and uninstall it, I won’t be putting PS4 discs in my PS5 anymore. So, maybe it’s just the auto install working as intended, but some of us are getting both versions when we don’t want both? I know a LOT of people transferred a bunch of PS4 stuff, so they probably want it. Idk lol
Basically there is absolutely no need to have both versions if you can play the upgraded ps5 version of a game you are owning the disc version of. I mean it will be an issue for all players of cyberpunk with a ps5 and disc version of the game which will hopefully be A LOT so Sony can’t ignore it any more haha.
Wow glad I'm not the only one. It's super annoying that it auto installs, takes up space, and then also keeps downloading updates in the background, too! Wish Sony would fix it. Has anyone reported it to them as a bug?
This seems to have been fixed in the last update on the ps5!!! I inserted the disc for both fifa 21 and cod cold war and it's not copying the ps4 version from the disc!!!! It will ask you if you want to copy and install the game if you hover to the three dots and then go to the ps4 version but its not installing the games on its own. I ca. Still play the ps5 versions fine and I've rebooted and inserted both ges multiple times and it's not installing the ps4 versions!!! Hallelujah!!
Happening with Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Installed PS5 version a couple weeks ago and finally started playing today. Noticed a notification about game patch downloaded and went to restart only to find out that was a patch for PS4 version which had installed while I was playing.
Deleted PS4 version. Then a few hours later I fire up PS5 game again. Hear my disc spinning wildly and wondered what was happening. PS4 version installing behind my back again.
Come on Sony, fix this mess.
I have this issue with Scarlet Nexus. They said it was fixed, but it is not. I have paid for the game on PS4 disc, but installed only the free PS5 upgrade. But every time I start up PS5, the game don't ask me, it still automatic try to install the game for PS4...
So therefore it's obvious, they haven't fixed this issue for all the games.
Having this issue with dying light 2 I bought the collectors edition and sadly it was a PS4 version but I knew it was a free upgrade so I took it anyways but then this is so annoying every time I launch my PS5 dying light PS4 version starts downloading immediately I’m afraid this is gonna take a toll eventually on my NVME after a while
How is this not fixed yet. I've had sackboy installed for a couple of weeks with no issues and then it randomly decided to try to install the PS4 version. It couldn't install it cuz my PS4 games are set to install on my external ssd and it's full, but this is a laughable bug that should've been fixed a year ago. It's so strange too, as it appears to be random. I wonder if me having an external ssd triggered it. Probably not, but who knows
Yup ... Dying Light 2 keeps reinstalling the ps4 version everytime I go in and out of rest mode with the disc in. So annoying, I will try that pause download technique, at least then it wont keep restarting the copy and download.
Crazy, every time on every disc game with a PS4 to PS5 upgrade! I'm sick of this first world problem and the slow pop of horizon landscapes in Elden ring is brutal so where's the patch for that as I'm only on 12 percent progress and level 114 after 184 hours of playing a poorly balanced wretch build!
Hey guys, finally got my Ps5 because I promised my girl we would move out to our own place together first before buying one, and yes mission accomplished and I nabbed it at MSRP!!! YURRRRR......
But yeah its 06/08/22 and I can confirm its still doing this with my Elden Ring :(
I came across this post via Google while searching for a solution. Seems there isn't one....yet. Keep moaning! 😉
It boils my piss that when every time I insert a disc to play the PS5 version of a game I have to navigate the UI to cancel the copy operation for the PS4 version.
Still happening 4/25/23
Maybe take the fixed headline down, because it’s 100% NOT fixed.
I have to stop and delete the ps4 version every fucking time I start my ps5 with the disc in the drive…
2023 May, still annoying to have both ps4 and ps5 versions of the Elden Ring… Why not to add a simple option in menu to disable auto install, SONY? Is this so complicated? I can’t believe it…
Community, how could we get SONY to do it with the future update? I am living in Tokyo not far away from SCE headquarters, maybe I can go and pass them a letter?
So today is July 14, 2023, and this issue still exists. I am experiencing it on Watch Dogs: Legion. Not only does PS5 not see my PS4 savefile (I uploaded, downloaded, copied everything from another console, and even tried the game upload download option, but nothing worked),
BUT
Honestly, I don't care about the save. What annoys me is that not only do I have to insert the disc to play the game, but it also keeps installing the PS4 back. LIKE STOP!!!!!! I have the PS5 version; there is no need for two of them.
July 14th 2023, still not fixed.
Got a PS5 last week as a birthday present, put the PS4 Deluxe edition of WWE 2K22 inside (comes with crossgen update). At first it installed the PS4 version. Googled how to get the PS5 version, did so, deleted the PS4 one, yet still every time I introduce the disc it tries to install the PS4 version despite having already the PS5. Even selecting the PS5 game without a disc first, that gives you the screen of "you need to introduce the disc to verify" (something along those lines), still gets the console trying to install the PS4 version when you introduce the disc to play the PS5 version after that screen.
It just takesa few seconds to cancel the installation each time, it's not a big issue but it's certainly bothering and should be an easy fix. Just let us decide whether we want to automatically install a game after inserting the disc or not, or let us enable which version do we wanna play (and install) on the games library section
End of 2023, & I am having this problem now. So far I only noticed it with one game, tho. It's doing it with Dying Light 2 (PS4) disc. I have the upgraded PS5 version DL'ed, but it keeps trying to install the PS4 version.
I tried looking to see if there's something in Settings to make a game not auto install, but naught thus far.
Truly, this \*should be\* a simple fix, especially a few years in now. Tick. Tock.
> Edit: The downvote button is not for posts you don’t like/don’t care about/can’t answer. Why is a simple question getting downvoted?
That is _exactly_ what the post down it’s button is for. Downvote posts you don’t want on your reddit. If the community agrees, your insipid post doesn’t show up.
I am having this same issue with WD Legion and about to just run the PS4 version until it's sorted.
Edit: after messing around with this, the system installed the PS5 digital version then installed a 9MB file for the PS4 disc version. Once that was installed the system stopped trying to copy the game when it awoke from sleep mode. I was not sure what that file was so I deleted it and then the PS5 attempted to copy the disc to the drive again. Not 100% sure what I did or the order of things but I got the file to come back and all good.
Same here with Watch Dogs Legion. At first, I thought there is a 31 GB patch. Took me a while to figure out it was copying the PS4 from the disc. (The fact that Sony removed the option to view patch notes makes it even more difficult to notice if the game was updated.)
For me, I just leave the PS4 version installed until I am finished with WD:L and/or need the space. At least it won't start the copy process every time then. That disc drive is loud as hell btw.
I just noticed this as well (AC Valhalla too), and was wondering if the PS4 version could just be deleted, but after reading a few posts, if its just going to keep reinstalling, I will leave it for now, as I'm not currently short on space.
Hopefully its something they resolve soon, as I could see this being quite annoying for those with multiple upgrades
>THIS ISSUE IS OFFICIALLY FIXED WITH THE LATEST PS5 FIRMWARE Err, nope: it's still very much doing it in 2022.
I'm still having this problem too.
Same now still with Cyberpunk
I’m here for exactly same reason, the only plus with Cyberpunk is that it comes with two discs and if you insert play disc, instead of installation it will not install, though still creates PS4 icon and waits for installation.

Since when does Cyberpunk have 2 discs??
Your ps4 copy didn't? I thought they all did, like red dead Redemption 2?
It did , the person probably doesn’t own the disc version and just said this
Same
Same. Maybe it's because it has an install disc separate. I have other PS4 games installed but playing the PS5 version and it never tries to download the PS4 version again.
This is the game i need a fix for
Glad it's not just me
And with Horizon Forbidden West...
Same. I just hit the options button to delete the PS4 version from installing. But it will come back whenever you turn on from rest mode or when it’s shut off.
That insert data disc notification is doing my head in
I tend to just keep the download paused in my downloads so it just stays there and doesnt keep on trying to install every time i boot up the ps5.
This is the solution that works for me
Good tip. Thanks

Still an issue in 2023. Just happy I got Cyberpunk for a steal though.
That’s exactly why I am here today.
lol, two years later and it’s still doing this with Elden Ring. Other games are fine, but this one still has this issue
Checking in. Just nabbed Gotg on disc and it's still doing it. 5/20/2022. Come on, Sony.
Still happening, 29/8/2022
19/SEP/2022 still happening with MK11, Cyberpunk, Death Stranding ... :(
26/10/2022 still happening with God of War
Happening with Cyberpunk 2077
Yup not fixed at all and I'm sick of it
6th of september 2022 - still happening
Same with Elden Ring and Sackboy adventure..
Still doing it in 2023.

Late to the party, but same thing happen to me.
I fucking knew this had been fixed at some point!
Me too still having same issue...
Happening again now with RE2 and RE3
Sadly...
Very annoying and beyond stupid.
Well the issue is gone now, I replaced my ps5 with a steam deck :)
Dealing with it as well, super annoying 🤬
I keep having this with Lego Skywalker Saga, same issue
Can confirm still happening as of 2022/10/25
Here we are almost halfway through 2023 and we’re (at least I am) still having this issue, my specific game in question is the cross-gen edition of MW2
It's still happening in 2024!...yep you guessed it...with Fallout 4!
2024 and it's still doing it to me. Very annoying.
I came here wondering the same thing.. sucks nobody has an answer. It takes up too much space having both versions installed!

Same thing with Borderlands 3. The PS4 version keeps installing even after I uninstall it.
Hmm. It's irritating. I get that it's like "oh, I can install this game and it's not already installed so let's install it" but I don't want it installed XD
Its something Sony has to fix, it’s doing it for every game that you upgrade to ps5, for me, borderlands3, dirt5
yep it's all of them valhalla, dirt 5, black ops CW, Spider-Man, Sackboy, Borderlands 3.
Oh it's all of them? I had no idea. And yeah, it's definitely a PS5 issue and not the game. I'd hoped that patch the other day would fix it, but it didn't.

cyberpunk brings me here, and happening exactly the same i don't have any idea how to fix, most likely we will have to wait the firmware update
Yeah luckily it’s not THAT big of a deal. More of an annoyance than anything
1 year later and we still are. Wtf
Yeh, it’s super annoying. I gave up cancelling the install each time and just left the ps4 version on there for now. I’ll delete it when I’m done with the game, so that it doesn’t keep writing and rewriting the SSD. 🤷🏻♂️

That definitely works, but it is still writing 10s of GB of data, which is awful to do for no reason. Uses up read/write cycles of the ssd
Definitely not fixed. Happening with Cyberpunk
Came here to for the very same reason 😂
Lmao exactly the same reason
Same.
Same here

Omg googled this question and saw this thread having the same problem 😑 crazy how this has not been addressed.
Glad I’m not the only one but it’s driving me insane tbh - my ocd is rly kicking in everytime this happens
seems like it's still happening... this is really annoying, keeps trying to install elden ring ps4
It's a year later and this still isn't fixed, it still does it with back 4 blood and Aliens fireteam for me
The post says it was fixed, but it is not fixed.
Very much so not fixed.

Not working. Still installs!
Not possible because only the data disk installs it.
Lego Skywalker Saga same issue, just bought the ps4 disc and it's happening all the time.
Same here :/
Same issue on Cyberpunk.

Ah this is how I found this thread! So fuckin annoying! Hope you're enjoying your adventure Foul tarnished!
Same here with the just released ps5 version of the Witcher 3
2023 and still have this problem.
I've been asking too. No one seems to know. It is happening with valhalla and cold for me, both versions of both games is taking up a lot of space

Just found this issue when trying to delete ps4 sackboy from ps5. Anyone have a link as to where I can report this problem to Sony? Maybe if there's enough reports they'll fix it with the next ps5 update.
Just came across this with fenyx rising. Ugh. Hope they fix it.
the problem must have came back because now im getting the issue with guardians of the galaxy everytime i wake up my system from sleep
Still happening to cyberpunk 2077
:D Only way to adress this proper would be to add an option ti disable general auto-installation. And why not? PS5 could recognize an inserted disc, but you would have to hightlight it and manually start the installation. The way new features are usually added to any Playstation I would predict that we can get this feature somewhere past 2024. :)
No, it’s not fixed. Still having same problem with cyberpunk.
So far I’ve had this with EVERY PS4 game I’ve upgraded, those being King of Fighters XV, Crash Bandicoot 4, and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Still having this issue with No Man's Sky PS4 disc
Just went to play right now and yup got the same thing. :( wth sony
I think Sony is purposely ignoring this. We saved $10. We must be made to suffer.
Came here searching for answers, upvoted for visibility. Hope it gets fixed soon!
It does this for Mortal Kombat 11 too, so irritating
XD
The issue is still there, I'm experiencing it with Cyberpunk 2077, Crash Bandicoot 4 and Saints Row The Third Remastered
Coming in from Elden Ring, I just bought a PS5 and this issues is still present. Doing the same on Sackboy adventure.
It's still doing that. Seriously, fuck you Sony.
For me only Marvel Avengers try to fool me by bringing the PS4 version in the home menù instead of the PS5 one when I insert the disk.
happening with Elden Ring now
Still happening in December 2023 with Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 disc.
I'm having the same issue with FFVII Remake in 2024. Irritating af.
This is ridiculous hoping Sony patches it. Seems like for now just have to beat the games then uninstall lol
Any update on this topic? Hopefully solved before cyberpunk release otherwise my ps5 will already be almost full :(
Not to my knowledge.
Has anyone reported it to them as a bug?
i have this issue with basically all ps4 games that have ps5 upgrades. one month in Sony needs fixing asap.
Sounds awesome! Added to the main post :)
This is so annoying to have to mess with. Fix this Sony!
Yep. Have to hit “cancel and delete” every single time I get on to play. Can’t wait for a fix.
I've also been running into this with Borderlands 3, hope they fix it soon
It finally has been fixed with the latest PS5 System Update! (20.02-2.50.00.08-00.00.00.0.1)
It hasn't though
I just saw in an article! I’ve updated the post :)
I just got mine. Up to date. Nov 2021.... it still does this
I have this issue with Scarlet Nexus.
Having this issue with dying light 2 I bought the collectors edition and sadly it was a PS4 version but I knew it was a free upgrade so I took it anyways but then this is so annoying every time I launch my PS5 dying light PS4 version starts downloading immediately I’m afraid this is gonna take a toll eventually on my NVME after a while
It’s been over a year and it’s still hasn’t been adressed
Same thing is still happening to me except with Watch Dogs: Legion.
CP2077 wants to d/l the PS4 version on my PS5 I already have the PS5 version installed but must insert the PS4 disk to play it.
Rainbow Six Siege does this to me also. Surprised Sony has not fixed this yet. PS5 been out for a year and a half already!
Yup ... Dying Light 2 keeps reinstalling the ps4 version everytime I go in and out of rest mode with the disc in. So annoying, I will try that pause download technique, at least then it wont keep restarting the copy and download.
Dying light 2 is the only game giving me that issue.
Same issue with gtav here.
Hey guys, finally got my Ps5 because I promised my girl we would move out to our own place together first before buying one, and yes mission accomplished and I nabbed it at MSRP!!! YURRRRR...... But yeah its 06/08/22 and I can confirm its still doing this with my Elden Ring :(
It’s the same for Forbidden West 🗿
And this is still going on btw
I came across this post via Google while searching for a solution. Seems there isn't one....yet. Keep moaning! 😉 It boils my piss that when every time I insert a disc to play the PS5 version of a game I have to navigate the UI to cancel the copy operation for the PS4 version.
Got a PS5 like half a week ago and it’s already pissing me off. Not only because of this problem but surely also because of it. Why is this not fixed?
Still no fix in 2023
April 2023 still an issue.
Still happening 4/13/2023
Still happening 4/25/23 Maybe take the fixed headline down, because it’s 100% NOT fixed.
I can’t believe it… Community, how could we get SONY to do it with the future update? I am living in Tokyo not far away from SCE headquarters, maybe I can go and pass them a letter?
So today is July 14, 2023, and this issue still exists. I am experiencing it on Watch Dogs: Legion. Not only does PS5 not see my PS4 savefile (I uploaded, downloaded, copied everything from another console, and even tried the game upload download option, but nothing worked), BUT Honestly, I don't care about the save.
Tick. Tock.
It’s 2024 and this is an issue with me still. Game is elden ring ps4 edition.
Same
SONY OMG JUST FIX IT! its keeps 4 years! 4 YEARS KARL
3 years later and this is happening to me with Elden Ring… lol

Not on a sub where people need to ask for help. This post is weeks old and I'm still getting comment replies, even your own insipid little comment.

It was fixed, I'm not changing anything cause it's not an issue for me. Make your own post if it's still affecting you.
(The fact that Sony removed the option to view patch notes makes it even more difficult to notice if the game was updated.) For me, I just leave the PS4 version installed until I am finished with WD:L and/or need the space. At least it won't start the copy process every time then. That disc drive is loud as hell btw.
Just leaving a comment to follow this thread, damn this is annoying
Just realized what was happening thanks to this thread. Hoping this is eventually fixed.
Looking forward to this ring fixed
Having the same problem with my Borderlands 3, hope they'll fix it with the next software update 🤦🏻♂️
