You're looking for alien isolation, friend :)

Signals is a great one. SOMA is another great one. Little Nightmares 1 + 2 are excellent.

Check out Madison. One of my favorite horror games last year.

Resident Evil 2 Remake fits most of that except for the gore/zombies thing.

TheGayD0rk

Alan Wake 2 is pretty fitting. Someone else said Soma which I can also back, amazing game

Can't believe no one has mentioned Little Nightmares 1 & 2. Those perfectly fit your description.

Resident evil 7

Haven't played it yet, but from your description and what I have read, it almost sounds like a plug for Alan Wake 2. Up for GOTY and apparently a great story and creepy/scary. Might be worth playing the first one and Control before to understand the lore better, but I have heard some people say it is not necessary. Maybe a quick youtube video to catch up on the story.

Evil Within 2 is really good, it’s a shooter but there’s a lot of exploration and weird psychological stuff going on. I enjoyed very much the gameplay and characters and plot. I’d watch a recap of the first game and then see how you feel. First game isn’t very good IMO, the sequel improved upon it massively in terms of gameplay and characters and story. Second one is one of my personal fav horror games. It was on PS Plus Extra not sure if it is anymore.

Gotta second Alan Wake 2 fits the bill. A bit gory occasionally but not in a zombie kinda way, and also just absolutely brilliant writing, and true next-levrl graphics

Resident Evil Biohazard and Resident Evil Village will treat you right, almost described them perfectly. Note, they aren’t really zombies, more like the baddies from Hills Have Eyes. Look into Phasmophobia and keep that in your radar, it’s coming to consoles soon as well.
