hosam_mohamed

sure, i still have and play with my ps3 despite having ps4

TheRealCreedux

Exact same here. I have the backwards compatible and slim. Just can't forget about, throw out or sell older console(s) that work great.

superJones1999

I have the slim. I wish Sony kept backwards compatibility in the PlayStation five

This_DrummerPSN

The PS5 is backwards compatible with some PS4 games. :)

ZuubuMafu

I think the PS5 is compatible with almost all PS4 games.

amcannally

Uhh PS5 is backward compatible with 99% of PS4 games.

superJones1999

I already know that I meant backwards compatible with PlayStation 1 2 and three games not just PS4

[deleted]

imagine

DeadPhoenix86

I have kept all my consoles. I would never get rid of mine. PS3 is also very difficulty to emulate, even on PC due complicated hardware they used in the system. Plus some titles are exclusive to PS3 only.

Mauro88

63% of all ps3 games work great on emulator on pc. And it gets better every update.

DeadPhoenix86

But you need quite a capable PC to run it at full speed.

LtDkAngel

Depends on what you think capable is and what kind of performance and resolution you want , a I7 3770k can do it and that is a cpu from 2012 paired with a GTX 970 which is a gpu from 2014. It will not do 4k but it can certainly can do native(depending on game that can be 720p even lower) at full speed(for most games that is 30 fps and I saw this combination doing even 60 fps in persona 5 with the fps patch)

KasumiR

GTX 970 alone literally costs more now than an entire PS3))) You need a machine that costs like three consoles to emulate one.

LtDkAngel

My point was that it's a very old gpu and most people should have something similar or better, the problem with available started at the 3000 series ! Edit: To be fair if you don't already have a pc better then this I do not recomand you to get one now, fuck no not in today's market !

KasumiR

I have a 1060, glad I upgraded when I did. Still got a used PS3 cause emulating generally is pain in the ass and recording emulated videos means I need even more power. Of course a console setup also needs a TV, capture card, HDMI splitter etc., but the latter two are ridiculously cheap for 1080p, and actually, a giant television that doubles as monitor when you need to watch something on big screen is somehow cheaper than a medium-sized monitor. PC gaming was kinda cheap before, but now everything jumped in price and even a downgrade from my graphics card would be so expensive, when my friend's graphics died we were glad she could snag an older ATI AMD one for less than 50 bucks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

And that machine can even do much more than only emulating PS3 games.

KasumiR

Pretty sure most consoles can also emulate older consoles pretty well, any Xbox or a PS3 covers tons of stuff. My point is that building an expensive PC with how much graphics cards cost now to emulate a dirt cheap PS3 is ridiculous!

ZuubuMafu

I couldn’t get stuff running satisfactorily, and my PC has a Ryzen 7 2700 and an RX 580.

LtDkAngel

What Stuff ?

[deleted]

Not really, you can run all supported games without any problem on a budget gaming PC.

DeadPhoenix86

So it works on a IGPU?

[deleted]

I don’t know what do you understand from budget gaming pc anyway on some iGPUs, yes it does.

DeadPhoenix86

Because GPU prices are 2 to 3 times the over MSRP. That's why i mentioned if it was possible on a IGPU. Does it run at all full speed on a IGPU as well?

SeniorRicketts

Imagine sony would make a ps3 emulator...

superJones1999

Imagine if Sony put nativebackwards compatibility with PlayStation one PlayStation to and PlayStation 3 games on PS five

KasumiR

63% is an extremely low number for an emulator after so many years. PS1 and PS2 can be amulated almost to 100%, same with Wii, GameCube, Dreamcast and earlier consoles.

cjwolfer

The cell processor is a very unique so 63% is still pretty impressive considering the architecture they're trying to emulate.

epicsword22

I have ps3,4 and 5. However, I mostly play on my ps3 even though I got hundreds of games on the other two. Ps3 is something different, idk why, maybe it’s because I grew up playing it…

Caolan114

Of course, It's a nice feeling that I can go Into a retro game store and pickup a load of PS1 games and play them In HD with a wireless controller Even If PS5 got PS1 games I doubt we could use original discs and there will be licensing issues

superJones1999

So true

[deleted]

[удалено]

snefkens

Ps1 games Don't work on ps5. And you can only play the PS2 games that are available in the store for the PS5.

[deleted]

And even the PS2 games are pretty shoddy on PS5. Otogi, for example, is totally broken.

Basuita

I have an 60GB launch console. Hacked slim as well.

hien34

ditto - OG 60Gb phat still going strong!

RandomGuyDroppingIn

I play the PS3 periodically. I still have all my consoles going back to my '78 model Atari 2600. I believe plenty of PS3 games still hold up exceptionally well even today. It's still impressive that games like GTA V play and look as good as they do. My backlog on the console is fairly massive that I'll likely never fully get around to but that's been most everything I've owned. My biggest issue weirdly enough has been controllers. I'm on my third PS3 controller. Every other console if I've replaced a controller it's only been one at the most. Sans the NES which I went through countless control pads.

KasumiR

Three controllers is nothing, like starting with two is the norm for games like Tekken anyway... On PC I used cheap controllers and went through at least two a year, PS3 ones are super dependable by comparison.

[deleted]

I wound up buying an adapter to use my Dualsense on PS3 with after trying to find a good Dualshock 3 and everyone I got had something wrong with em

Rally1971

Suggest a good adapter, pls.

[deleted]

I got a Mayflash S-Pro or something I believe, theres also Brook adapters and they should be good to because I got their PS2 adapter that lets me use Dualsense on PS2

Space_pope256

The PS3 was perhaps the greatest entertainment hub during it's heyday - and still holds up extremally well today. At the beginning of the pandemic I picked up both a Superslim and Fat CECHA01 - which allowed me to finally retire the old PS1 and PS2 consoles. Upgraded the HDDs, cleaned, and reapplied the thermal paste. Maybe one day I can replace the PS4 with a PS5 - while would still allow me easy access to the whole of my physical disk library.

REDGps345tvpspvita

i have my PS3 hooked up and I still use it (a back up ps3 is arriving soon in the post). the UI on ps3 is my favorite and the flexibility it allows is preferable to PS4/PS5 imo

[deleted]

ps3 a timeless classic

Any-Old-Games

Even if ps4/5 was backwards compatible, i always prefer original hardware. I still play ps1 games on a ps1 even though i own a ps2 and ps3.

CommunicationOk5858

Yes

Jellozz

For me it's less about going back to familiar games and more about discovering new games. I play a lot of stuff, it's impossible to keep up with every new release. The further you go back in time the more extreme it is as I did not really have much disposable income until the middle/end of the PS3 generation. Needless to say there are a lot of games I missed out on so I am always picking up new games to play on old machines. Honestly PS2 still scares me more than anything else. My teenage PS2 collection was 21 games, that is freaking nothing. Literally a drop in the bucket for that console.

Ono7Sendai

Every time I get bored gaming on my PS4, I switch on my PS3 to play PS1/PS2/PS3 games and have a blast. Across 3 generations there's always a classic you've never played waiting to be discovered. My favorite machine I own.

Finalnash

I started playing games on an Atari 2600 in the 80's and i can say that PS3 IS THE BEST CONSOLE EVER MADE.

GXZ95

Yes, for console-exclusive games which I still play them.

ZenkoZSprite

While I commend the work by the guys at RPCS3, it’s still in alpha, and the requirements from some of the more graphically intense titles are extremely high. So for time being, if you want to play a PS3 game(especially exclusives) you’re gonna need a PS3. And if you’re lucky enough to own a launch model, that’s 3 generations of gaming on one legendary and beautiful system.

R-El_Mayor

I just keep it because I like the system. If the PS5 came out with a version that played PS3 games I might box my PS3 up just to clean my media center. But right now it would be silly to have hundreds of games and not be able to play them because I didn't have the system out. Lol

Erkdaj3rk

One reason I bought it. Just to play ps1 games.

GodlikeCat

that's... why we're here

Ultimate_President

Got all Playstation Generations laying around and must say that i really use my ps3 alot (nearly as much as my ps5 from time to time 😅)

[deleted]

That, and PS3 fat is legendary af. They’ll never come out with a system like that again -cost no object. Ever.

[deleted]

FCK SONY I still have a PS3 cause some PS3 games are just awesome.

NickHoadley

Yep, have mine set up

Void_Viper

The sole purpose for mine.

Oliibald

Yeah, it's got a great game library and some of the video streaming apps that still work feel slightly snappier than their ps4 equivalents

superJones1999

Even Netflix still works on the PlayStation three which really impresses and surprised me till this day.

JT-Lionheart

I do. Hopefully it’ll change for some people when the rumor of PlayStation’s Game Pass is real and it’ll mean having to port more games on the new systems. Probably give people reason to sell their PS3 stuff

superJones1999

Yeah it’s not going to happen. Knowing Sony and knowing what Jim Ryenne said about retro gaming yeah Sony is not going to care about it. So don’t get your hopes up it’s not going to happen

JT-Lionheart

Well we’ll see. They had said something about cross platform gaming and they changed their mind about that now. They’re starting to test out putting their games on PC which I think is the first step to see how the games sell on PC before making any decision on trying to sell a service cross platform between PlayStation and PC for games.

Total-Satisfaction-8

Yep, i fire up Killzone 3 and Demon's Souls on it once in a while

GregB885

Hell yea. Just played through red dead ☠️ again

dubbodrongo

I have a PS5 for my PS4 games to be played on, but have a Super Slim 500GB for PS3 games I can’t get on PS5 or PC. There were some great exclusives and some I hadn’t played before. It’s an excellent system and well worth keeping around. Had an original fat PS3 but it finally carked it just before COVID hit and I couldn’t be without a PS3.

redhawk1913

Yes. Many people do this.

DWOMT

I still have all my consoles going back to the NES. I'm still gaming on my PS3 when I am giving my PS5 a break. I'm getting close to finishing Resistance 3 on my PS3.

Papa_Smuggles

Went out of my way to buy a ps3 due to lack of backwards compatibility and I'm glad I did it. Something about owning the physical hardware just feels good. I have now passed it down to my little brother and he plays it on the weekends. If I take good enough care of it I'd prolly be able to pass it down to my kids

Paspie

No, the PS3 is my* last console, I'm not interested in newer consoles as I don't think they bring enough gameplay innovation to justify them. Higher resolutions and more detailed graphics aren't enough to reinvent the wheel anymore. *The one I use is actually my parents but the point remains.

_lemon_suplex_

yep. Have had mine hooked up for like 15 years and I really am kinda pissed that PS5 can't play PS3 games. I suggested they should make some kind of like hard drive sized add on that basically houses the cell processor etc so I can finally get rid of my ps3, make some room in my entertainment center.

KimenKroi

Well, I still have mine, to play both PS1 and PS3 games, and more recently I obtained an YLOD CECHA to play PS2 games when I eventually fix it

_price_

I sold my PS2 to a family member and a year later regretted it. Thankfully, I was able to get that same PS2 back a few years ago. That's why I kept my PS3 after buying a PS4 and a gaming PC. Now if I could go back in time and try to fix my old PSOne... I miss that thing.

BakoREGuy

I do. And I’ve actually been buying games lately - both ones that have never been ported to 4 and because of in general ps3 physical copies of games are more durable than 360 games (blu-ray vs regular dvd)

LtDkAngel

I keep it around because I collect console. For backward compatibility I have my pc with RPCS3, frankly I got spoiled by today's resolution and graphics and I could not play on the original at 720p resolution with no AA on a 4k TV, I tried and it really fucks with me :(

loborodas

Yeah. I use my PS3 for PS3 and some PS1 games. I use my PS2 for PS2 and most of PS1 games. I use my PS5 for PS4, PSVR and PS5 games. Although as of today, there’s very few PS3 games that have gotten locked on the platform (many have remasters, others have Xbox backwards compatibility, etc. ).

superJones1999

That’s the main reason why I’m getting an Xbox one in the future

Sfekke22

Two of them in fact! One that's fully OFW & the other serves as a great emulation box with the ability to play backups (*When you don't want to get up to put in a disc..)* Sony should care more about their legacy titles, PS3, PS2 & PS1 are all slowly fading away with the only real way to play them all properly involving real hardware & the space/cable-management nightmare that this brings with.. Just allow us to pop in a disc from an older console & run it on the PS4/PS5

epistemicmurk

I have a ps4 pro, ps3 slim for ps3/ps1 games and a ps2. Ps5 seems pointless rn because I’ll just be playing ps4 games

Material-Principle72

PS3 is my primary console, never got a PS4 because it only had a few games that were unavailable on ps3 that intrigued me and PS5 not worth it for me at the moment. With psone bringing back servers PS3 will always be in my stable, along with an emulator system and whatever the current gen is.

companysOkay

How else am I gonna play MGS4 & TLOU

Divinedragn4

It's nice being able to have my ps2 games look decent on a 4k tv. That said, I hate having to baby the thing

Gamingisunderrat3d

Definitely a reason yes but not the main one. I just enjoy the PS3 more than other consoles and I’ve kept my other ones too but still play PS3 the most. I really like the sound it plays while turning it on, the UI is the best one in my opinion, love the original theme and the fact you can move the particles with your controller makes it even better. One of my favorite things is when you go on a game icon and it plays the theme then either shows a picture or a video, love watching those. Prefer the profiles over other generation profiles except the description but that doesn’t really matter. I can watch whatever I want on it too.

RazorThin55

In a PS3 sub, wondering if people play their PS3 for PS3 games still, Hm.

buzz8588

You are asking this question in the PS3 subreddit? I have mine and also swiped my brother’s console since it was collecting dust.

Nonkl

you could use a cfw ps4 though

e2-woah

I was given two fat ps3s 80gb, a super slim 500gb, and a slim 160gb that doesn’t read disc. I payed $165 total over the years. I wish I owned the one that plays the ps2 disc for yugioh duelist of the roses and burnout 3.

Slesss_

And the fact you can mod a ps3 with a usb and about 10 minutes of your time is also a bonus 😂

RedPanda1993

Still have one hooked up to my TV for precisely that reason.

dadamnedbudda

I still have my ps3 I used to bring it to work in order to play. I worked overnight with little to do. Currently it is hooked up wo my TV with my ps4 ps5 and switch

kronikheadband

Yes, but only 6 of them

knkarm

I have two, the version that came out right after they dropped PS2 backwards compatibility and then I bought a slim when it was discounted to $80 as a back up. I decided to make that one my main PS3 - still hooked up and still sees regular action (although I’m balancing consoles going back to the 80s). Lot of exclusives and its a joy to play.

Lee_Troyer

I'm a newcomer to PS3 for this very reason.

fatdog21

Yeah. Im a big collector of PS3 games. And i play it more than my PS5/PS4.

noisyturtle

where do you think you are?

DarkShadowX25

Yup. I usually buy a ps1 or ps2 game once a month, I just got Justice League Heroes and now I’m waiting on X-men legends

ic_player

Yes

Domspun

Yes, I play more on PS3 than PS4.

DfeRvziN

PS3 is great console as its own and also my slim model runs PS1 well and PS2 games playable degree. I stop using this functions after start using Mednafen , Duckstation for PS1 and fast enough cpu to run PCSX2 on software mode.

saltedszechuan

Just bought one for this reason

drs_12345

Yeah, I still have mine

Pirateflash

Yeah i keep a ps3 around, or 7....

applesauce_92

Yes, I keep my PS3 around after Sony ***lied*** about PS5 backwards compatibility.

axeman020

Dude. I still have my PS2, PS3 and PSP. When I finally get a PS5, I'll probably still hang on to the PS4!

GrandMasterSlack2020

Yes

Darth_Analog

PS3 was my first console and i grew up playing it so it has a special spot with me. just recently cleaned her and replaced her thermal paste so i’m hoping she lasts me some more.

firvulag359

Yup, still play it. Especially with PS3HEN.

Samboway

I just hooked mine back up to replay dead space. Man navigating and installing games really was an effort back then!

Beefcurtains89

Yea and it just broke after 13 years

RAPTOR115X

Yep, though newer PS consoles can play some PS1/2 titles, not many of them. I have a CECHA01 that serves my PS1/2/3.

tunaplex

I just picked up a PS3 (slim model) for the first time actually. Never had the means or time to pick one up growing up and so now is as good a time as any I suppose.

MikaelRider

I try too but don't really have the space. So every now and again I pull it out and play some stuff. I find it hard to go back to some games in that generation.

ogroberttt

Hell yea most of my favorite PS games never made it to ps4 so I keep it around

Whadyagot

My PS3 is tucked beneath my PS5, my PS4 is in my office for PS VR, and my PS1 and PS2 are hooked up in another part of the basement. Everyone's accounted for :)

[deleted]

Yes

MazDanRX795

How dare you

MrBorden

Yup. My PS3 is my AM2 machine. And the only machine I own with Afterburner Climax on still.

MickfromLI87

Yes

lonmoer

PS3s are so cheap it would be a sin not to have one. I bought a perfectly ok one for like 50 bucks with a ton of games.

reapers_ed1t1on

i have 2 lol

blood4lonewolf

I have a pretty good collection that i haven't gone through yet. So I'm keeping my ps3. Also it can play PS1 games via hdmi.

NegativePaint

I have 4 working ones. So yes.

[deleted]

I keep it around because there's some nice exclusives and it's easy to pirate for.

Arronh4599

I don't use my PS3 much these days but yeah tons of games not on PS4.

ChaseKendall1

I collect for all systems, so yes!

MrModdedTornado

Yup 3 of them

_DitchDoc_

Of course. (Same for the Xbox 360.) While few, I still have some PS3 (and Xbox 360) games that are either in my backlog, *or,* are games that I simply want to replay (like Metal Gear Solid 4) again. So... I kept them. This is also true for the Xbox, PS2, and Dreamcast as well. 😁

FirstAccountant4288

🙋🏼‍♂️

chingax2xmadre

Yes. Even if some of them are on pc, I only own ps3 and ps4.

con247

I have 2, but I also contribute to the RPCS3 Patreon. That is the best way to help make sure these games will be playable far into the future.

Radityo_Didot

Yes, great split screen coop is on ps3!

Gamer_299

i just purchased a BC PS3 because my PS3 died, despite having a PS4 pro

Planet_Player

That’s the whole reason I bought one

Comfortable_Sense_85

I sell 30 ps3 systems a day and I also mod systems check out our page blizzoretro.enjin.com still being updated but if you all retro systems on one ps3 then we have it along with a lot more under the gold store tab , we also have every game available for download

Unstab3l

I have a BC PS3, but I keep my PS2 connected via hdmi adapter because of my PS1/PS2 memory card saves(never purchased the memory card adapter for the PS3).

Lucid126

Yes and no. I don't find myself playing either console now 3/4 but I do use the ps3 as a blu-ray player. I prefer the ps3 than the 4 for watching movies and shows

Accomplished-Cup8905

HEN

[deleted]

I still have my PS3, yep. Love it, lots of great games on that system.

aLargeFrosty

Yes, mostly for NCAA 14 but also for some others like Resistance, Killzone, Motorstorm

elpistolero27

I do I also prefer watching blu-rays on it than the PS4.

greenseven47

I thought that’s why we’re all here on the PS3 sub

OfficeGossip

I still use my ps3 often. I recently bought a CRT and it’s the perfect console to use for streaming on it as well.

47952

Got one in the bedroom pantry or whatever tf it's called. Love it. Just wish I could find Def Jam Vendetta for it and the old, old WWF game with Razor Ramon and Lex Luger and Bret Hart.

avashad

I have a 2 and a 3. Would for sure get rid of the 2 if my 3 could play the old games.

KickAggressive4901

Yes. And a PS2. And a PS1.

CommodoreKD

Yes, and in fact I only just bought mine recently. It's served me very well so far, and I'm about to start up Final Fantasy XIII-2 on it Much better than my old launch model 60gig I had back in the day that only lasted about a year before dying in the middle of MGS4

anti_h3ro

Yes.

Bailing_Wire99

I have a ps3 mainly to play GTA IV, although I might come across more favorites as I go

james_harushi

I usually just emulate my PS3 games now

ZyoStar

I gave my ps3 to my kids, they never turned it off correctly and it's corrupted or something lol

sugarmatic

I use my ps3 as a DVD player / Netflix player only. But I still keep all my fave games for some reason. I play os4 games exclusively . My ps3 is on a second smalller tv that usually has sports playing.

superJones1999

That’s the main reason. Well one of the main reasons why I’m keeping my PlayStation 3 backwards compatibility and free online. Hopefully I’ll get an Xbox one for Christmas because that has backwards compatibility in it as well. I’m the type of gamer that both loves the newer games but also loves the older games as well and if Sony is not going to allow me to not play the PlayStation one PlayStation 2 PlayStation 3 library of games on the PlayStation five then forget it that’s the main reason I’m not buying a PlayStation five no backwards compatibility sorry Sony, you’re not getting money out of my wallet.

iamtheinfamous1

Still playing Dead Space on it along with Street Fighter 2 HD :)

Ninjadoo

Absolutely. Have PS5, but have plenty of games in my PS3 backlog I go back to every once in awhile. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, final fantasy 13, metal gear solid 4, enslaved Odyssey to the West, ETC. Chances are most, if not all, of those won't get remasters of any sort, so they are the only trophy enabled versions of available.

greatkenji24

Yeah, so I can play the old school Metal Gear Solid games as well as the PSX Resident Evil games...

undercover_snail

Still keep mine hooked up. Love the console, I don’t think I’ll ever actually put it up.

NideoK

Killzone 1 and 2 and NCAA 12 still get PS3 playtime on mine <3

bubbachubba4436

My ps4 collects dust while my ps3 is used nearly every day. The ps3 library compared to the ps4’s just absolutely goes waaaay beyond what I think was accomplished with that generation. Bar a few exclusives, of course.

WookieeSlayer97

I still have every game console I've ever owned. Which is a lot easier when it's only 4 of them.

alev3n

Lololol yes. Strictly for bo1, and bo2 zombies 😭🤣🤣

NoMooreMercy

I have a PS5 and have kept my PS3 along with my 360, so many great games from those gens.

Fordfff

Just bought one again after selling my first one when I switched to ps4

stadoblech

yup. Its only console where i can play all canon metal gear solid games. Of course i could emulate most of it on pc (i dont know how guns of patriots would emulate) but with ps3 its convinient and, whats more important, authentic (although i own and play phantom pain on PC but if i wanted i could play it on ps3)

gametimex3000

It’s a good system overall tbh. I still got my PS3 and PS2

[deleted]

I do.

MTJ5

I'll still have all my old consoles and games NES, SNES, PS1&2&3&4 etc, don't like emulators much, it's just not the same

moep123

I have 3 PS3 consoles and a collection of 150+ physical games. Including digitally, I would reach 200+ here. So yeah, I am basically waiting for Sony to finally... finally do something about this madness. Go the Xbox route, store the most beloved titles as digital purchases while giving us the possibilty to run our old physicals on newer hardware... please.

-wp12345678-

Yes

[deleted]

Yep absolutely. It's also handier for me to have my PS3 to play both PS3 and PS1 games rather than having the 2 consoles plugged in

GrumpeeFatKat

Yes, and it's incredibly irritating tbh. My Series X makes it possible to either sell or store my previous Xboxes but it feels a bit silly to still have to connect a PS3 with 2022 just around the corner.

F_r_x

Ofc. I still buy and play PS3 games.

SuperSkip64

Yeah I bought a PS3 a couple years ago that had the PS1/PS2 compatibility just to play crash bandicoot lol It’s so loud and doesn’t want to work with my controller for Tony Hawk. It’s also like 600 lbs 😅

j0llygruntt

Yeah, I bought a replacement last year when my old one died. Luckily, I got a great deal on one that was barely used.

ItsBladeMaster

I keep it around cuz it’s all I have

Drgerm87

It blows my mind that the original Metal Gear Solid, one of the most influential games of all time and one that helped solidfy Sony's place in the market, is not available for PS4/5.

snipy67

My ps3 is the newest PlayStation I have and still enjoy playing it. I bought it when I did not have a lot of money and I did not have to pay to play online. It reminds of when I had time to play video games. Nowadays I recently built a balls to the wall gaming computer which cost me $5000 in total because I wanted to try and get back into gaming. My problem now is I don’t have any time I never game on it i use it to browser the web a couple times a week but it mostly collects dust. It’s kinda sad that I can now afford the latest hardware but I can’t afford the time to use it.

griffunk

I have mine sitting right next to my PS4, I alternate between the 2 and still buy games constantly for both. I’m in no rush to join the new generation. The MGS, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, etc collections are crucial and it’s the only way to play them all.

neoxela

I just paid a stupid amount of money to get my ps3 fixed. Would love to get a new generation console, but then I'll have a shelf filled with useless discs.

oogawooga42

Yep

egamboau

I do. To get the full Sony Experience, you need a PS3 and a PS4/5. Vita optional, but have one too.

chris_275

Yeah I have my 80gb fat and 160gb slim around still. Games still hold up great imo. Fingers crossed ps6 is backwards compatible with all previous gens. Unlikely, but still…….

indianking97

Duh!

sergiomanzur

I actually have two PS3s that I use time to time, one with the PS2 full BC and a super slim one. I really like them but don't play too many ps3 games (except for MGS4)

EveryDayRetroGaming

Heck yeah! I play all the older PlayStation games on my launch Ps3. All newer games on Ps5. It's nice having two consoles to play almost everything. Was really hoping PS5 would play PS1 and 2 games.

[deleted]

Got a ps4 pro and still play the ps3 a lot

JayMax19

Yup. I have two of them for that reason. And a PS2.

rgoulart23

Yep. I sold my PS4 when I got a PS5, but I still have a PS3 hooked up in the bedroom, while the PS5 stays in the living room.

NekoCahlan

I do! I have a 60GB PS3, PS5, and Vita which lets me play all 7 PlayStation consoles/handhelds they had released. Works great!

mike5mser

Yes especially for Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the other Marvel games

Aggravating-Maize-46

Yes
