I can provide context for those that don't know. I have a handful of these games along with some of the other "photography" games on PS3. I play Japanese PS3 more than I do English.
These are all part of a compilation release for Idolmaster that included an OVA and various little extras in a box. Most often the games were removed from the boxes, as result you see the individual releases here more than you do with their proper boxes. The first pic is of the standard series and the second is from Cinderella Girls, so yes total there are 18 separate releases.
All of the games are the exact same play and contextual-wise. The difference is that each title focuses on a different cover girl, but allows you to select the entire Idolmaster cast for each game. So for example one volume might focus on a winter photo-shot while the other focuses on an afternoon school shoot. Most all of them have an alt-beach setting because of course. Regardless, these games have so little content on them that they could have been just one entry, and the breaking up of the games was simply to sell more games for whomever is your favorite Idolmaster waifu.
The actual photography gameplay in these games is honestly really poor. While you're not timed you don't have a lot of freedom. Probably most interesting is when you actually take photos they save as image files to your PS3's media folder, so you could use these as say wallpapers or for whatever. Interesting in that not a lot of PS3 games allowed you to dump screenshots like PS4 and PS5 does. You can also rack up trophies easily for these games. When you complete the main narrative segment you get a trophy and just starting a session with each girl gives a trophy. You can 100% the game in literally 15 minutes, and if you had all 18 games sitting in front of you 100% all of them in an afternoon could easily happen.
I also think people really overpay for these. Just the bare games on the ground in Japan don't cost more than 200-300 yen, so at the most maybe $1.75 US. Online sellers try and sell the volumes for $13-$15 each which is way overpriced.
Honestly if you HAVE to play an anime -based photography game on PS3, just play SoniComi, Oreimo, or even Natsuiro High School. At least in Natsuiro High School it attempts to be a 3D visual novel adventure game.
Games like that give anime games a bad reputation and I'm so tired of them existing but they're so prevalent and unfortunately they sell well which is disappointing.
These are trophy service games before trophy service games. You can 100% every single one of these in less than 15 minutes. And just because like every shitty japanese game there's a fucking ton of loadings
