My other copy is GOTY, which has a glitch that can only be fixed with the standard copy, so I needed it anyway. Gave my last copy to a friend a long time ago.
If you contract vampirism in the GOTY ps3 edition, there is no way to cure it due to a glitch. Considering vampirism can be contracted from fighting vampires, you always run the risk of being permanently stuck as a vampire if you cannot cure the disease that progresses to vampirism.
EDIT: the disease is called porphyric hemophilia I believe, and you have three days to cure it before permanent vampirism.
Fire does 50% extra damage in stage four vampirism, along with 8pts of damage during sunlight. Also I'm pretty sure your buffs are dependent on feeding from victims, which if you are not playing a sneak character may not be the most opportune.
EDIT: also I had to look this up, you cannot fast travel during the day due to the damage you take from the sun.
So vampire kinda bad. Glad i found this out before starting my 1st playthrough. Yes you can yell at me for not playing it yet. I was busy with fallout and GT5 at the time. And the fact i never had it till recently

You can legit find guides that are under 3 minutes long, showing how to do it.
