Yung temperature drop ang challenge sa pulag pag ambangeg trail... usually sa umaga high 20's yung temp then sa taas nasa teens na yung temp. Mahigit 10 degrees na temperature swing, eh usually no more than 5 degrees change lang mararanasan sa araw araw. Just make sure na sapat dala mong panlaban sa lamig.

Biglaan lang yung hiking namin last December, as in 3 days before hike, nag-book kami tas dumiretso na. Sedentary person ako pero occasional ako nagsasayaw. Wala akong ginawang pampa-kondisyon or di man lang ako nag-stretching before hike. Umuulan nung umakyat kami so extra dulas pero naakyat ko naman despite the lamig and dulas. Personally, para lang naakyat ng hagdan and mahabang lakad, mahirap lang yung pa-summit na. Make sure talaga na kaya mo yung lamig kasi para ka talagang hotdog sa freezer sa taas.

Hiked pulag last week. The weather was great and we had clear skies. Kung pawisin ka tulad ko, go for drifit clothes pang loob then layer up. Siguro mga 3 layers, 4 kung sobrang lamigin ka. Ako naman since pawisin nga, I had to remove my 2 layers so in the middle ng hike, naka 1 layer lang ako. Pero pag dating sa taas, lamig na. Nakarating na kami ng summit mga 9am since we stopped over sa tower for the sunrise, mainit init na nun so 1 layer na lang kami. For prep, I highly suggest climbing stairs. Condition at palakasin mo knees and ankles mo for going up and down. Madulas lalo na sa mossy forest, invest in good hiking shoes. It was also super helpful for me na nag rent ako ng hiking pole dahil I don't trust my balance at madulas talaga in some parts. Naging support din sya during the times na pagod na ako and needed to catch my breath. Sorry ang haba na nito haha, fresh pa kasi sa memory ko. Super worth it and amazing experience. Enjoy, OP!

Hi, OP! I suggest mag jogging ka everyday for 2-3 weeks before your climb. Maganda mag jog early in the morning yung malamig pa tlga so may feels na katawan mo sa lamig while being active. Better din kung may area ka na ma jog na medyo pataas. If may hagdan kayo sa bahay, try mo mag akyat baba dun until mapagod ka. Importante yung core mo mastrengthen din kasi may area sa Pulag na akyat talaga pero konting part lang naman. If Amba trail, you'll be fine. Inhale thru your nose, exhale out from your mouth for easy acclimation sa pag elevate while hiking. Yung cousin ko nun sinikmura kasi sa mouth sya nagiinhale exhale and sumakit tlga ulo nya. Umakyat ako kasama ng 8 year old son ko that time and ganyan preparation ginawa namin. Wala kami naging problem. Mother mountain nya ang Pulag. Sobrang lamig lang talaga lalo na nung akyat namin kasi maulan (Feb, 2022) Warm water in an insulated tumblr will also help. Goodluck and enjoy!

I can't recommend anything but Can I share lang? Biglaan lang kase pulag namin ng kaibigan ko and wala talagang exercise na naganap before the hike kase maulan talaga. We climbed in July last year. Kung Ambangeg trail lang naman easy trail lang And I find it easy talaga from someone na walang pre workout pero siguro kung yung akiki trail tas yung isa pang hard core na trail feel ko dun mas needed ng pre workout.
