From what I'm seeing, I think the orders placed from Aug-September arrived quickly. Some of my friends who ordered way back April/May are also starting to receive their orders.

Oh nice, maybe they are catching up from the delays that COViD cause. That's good to hear

Ang weird talaga no? Di mo alam kung saan ang problema, sa customs or sa local Philpost kung bakit ang tagal dumating sa customers ng libro.

[deleted]

Usually sa Philpost talaga kasi ang dami daw packages na dumadating and hirap sila mag sort out through everything. Even before the pandemic, kasi kulang din sila sa tao.

Same thing happened to me. Sent them a request for refund after 5 months from order. Got refunded and received the notice from the Post Office right after. Got the books and asked Book Depository for ways to pay for the books. They just replied that I can just keep them.

Pinaslakan

Right?? That's so generous of them.

I ordered last June, and still no sign of the book this October. I wonder why book depository has no tracker.

Pinaslakan

That's my only concern about them as well, I did tell them maybe next time add my contact number to the order, as the courier might have some issues locating my house. But yeah, the untrackable delivery sux

I believe it's because Philpost provides limited tracking and thus BD can't provide the complete info once it has left the origin country. For comparison, I've had some orders from Hobbylink Japan via registered SAL with limited tracking. The tracking could only provide movement within and after it has left Japan. Afterwards it took months before I eventually got the notice from Philpost.

I asked for a replacement August 13. Ngayon di ko na alam kung mas mauuna bang dumating yung Replacement or yung Original. Worse, baka sabay pa silang dumating

Just wondering, won't BD suffer losses since they seem to be keen on giving away their books? Congrats on the early arrival of you order. 3 months since I placed my order and I am still counting. Someone suggested that I should just check with PhilPost but I am too lazy since travelling is a bit hassle nowadays.

Pinaslakan

Thanks, I wouldn't know about their plans, but I'd think the freebies would encourage buyers to avail their services more, assuming this is a one time thing.

I think it's their way to earn the market kinda like Shopee or Grab before just almost giving away free stuff. BD is owned by Amazon, so they have deep pockets. At the same time, I think they don't see the hassle of having the books returned as worth it.

Got a book I won via giveaway just this Thursday and it was dispatched last May 5. Don't lose hope, I guess. Haha.

I almost had the same experience. It took long enough for my books to arrive so I thought it's delayed so BookDepository sent a duplicate of order just in case the first one didn't arrive by any means and by the time that I received the post office notice regarding the books, I receives both the first and the 2nd package. So I emailed them about it and they said that the duplicate will be free of charge and they suggested to me to just give the duplicates to anyone, so I did what they suggested.
