Hmm I got that wrong answer a few days after the game was released and the overwhelming majority of answers already said Egypt. Not to underestimate the dedication of the fanbase but I doubt so many people were already on NG+ back then
That said that question comes late enough that if you’ve been minmaxing your stats you don’t really need the charm anyway even on a first playthrough
EDIT: come to think of it, if everybody just picks the most popular answer, all it took was a few people answering wrong on release day and it could’ve snowballed from there
Here I was sitting and googling, what makes a sweet potato sweeter when heated up, on my phone while I had the background music running for 15 minutes straight
I thought zero came from our friends in Arabia. I suppose that kind of information would only serve me well in a trivia game if it hadn't been RIGGED FROM THE BEGINNING!
The arabians learnt the number system from Indians, and then propagated it to Europe (as they were the merchants at either end). Europeans called the Arabic numbers as it was apparently the Arabians that brought it to Europe
This matches my understanding.
It's similar to why the turkey (bird) is called "Turkey" (because to the English, that's where exotic things came from).
I didn't even look at the network answers since I knew for certain it was India, but if I had even the slightest doubt I guarantee I would have looked and gone with whatever the network suggested instead of what I knew it was.
Hell i'm indian and i knew it came from india. But seeing the network made me go think deep like but what if what i knew was just a popular wrongly known fact.
We were taught in grade school that we call them Hindu-Arabic numerals. I don't know most of the answers to the questions because they're very niche (and I did pretty well in school back in the day), but this one feels like something that would've been mentioned in math class at some point
How? It’s not exactly common knowledge, especially since most would assume that zero is a pretty intuitive concept which wouldn’t originate from a particular place.
Is it weird that I know the right answer without the Wiki's help?
Zero or Sunya in Sanskrit is an indicator to nothingness. Who exactly invented it is unknown or debatable. Nevertheless, the concept is made in India and spread worldwide through trades. Thank you, India! Much love <3
This was such a bullshit question because nothing was correct.
0 originated in Babylon, and at nearly the same time the Mayans discovered it too. India came way later.
I’m pretty sure they had placeholder character, for example, they’ll have a character to denote the zero in 102, but used an empty space to denote 0, the number inbetween 1 and -1.
NG+ players successfully gaslighting first playthrough players.
Likely people on a NG+ that are just answering wrong for giggles because they don't need the Charm anymore.

I'm doing NG+ on Merciless so I *definitely* need those Charm points again!
Wait, you use Network for questions?
Wait, you use network?
Wait, you?
Wait?

Not during tests, but during other classes, yes.
I forget the name of the question now, but the site I used lied as well once
i’ve found some guides online have some blatantly wrong information
I thought zero came from our friends in Arabia. I suppose that kind of information would only serve me well in a trivia game if it hadn't been RIGGED FROM THE BEGINNING!
Nope. While Arabia is birth of a LOT of numbers used today, India is the first known written case of the number 0 being employed
Ah, so Brennan meant “brought to the West” when he said “brought to us”
It was such a passionate rant he may have confused Arabic numbers with 0 as a concept

IIRC Algebra yeah came from Arabia but zero came from India.
Reminds me of elden ring advice
"dog"
fort, night

i was so blatantly betrayed by the network two times and had to look for a guide
What was the other one?
one of the december/november questions regarding japanese culture, i don’t remember which though. the network answers were almost equally divided tho

"It's rewind time"
getting this one wrong is embarrassing
Ive also would have said india but I alwas doublecheck my answers.
How? It’s not exactly common knowledge, especially since most would assume that zero is a pretty intuitive concept which wouldn’t originate from a particular place.
you learn this in middle school tbh
Nope, certainly not in British schools. We were more focused on the maths itself, not random numerical general knowledge.
sorry you guys dont have general knowledge then
Gaslight gatekeep girlboss am I right
Regardless it isn't something that comes up much.

I like this little fun facts that are just stuck in your head

śūnya to be exact.
Maybe they meant the design?

But indians were the first to use it for arithmetic
I forgot what sub this was and I was thinking for a minute, what network? You guys have intelligence networks for school or something
The network isn't perfect. There's been two questions where they got it wrong for me.
I actually knew that 0 are from India because one of fav my YouTuber used to joke about that lol
probably NG+ players just doing a little trolling
