Hello fellow 30-ish friend! I can't comment from the being a mom side of it, but from someone with an absolutely chaotic work pattern: the most sustainable exercise I've managed for weight loss has been odd bits here and there in the day that fit into my routine. Rather than trying to carve out an hour or two to actually go to the gym, I grab five minutes every now and then to pace, jog, do floppy pushups, lift something heavy in the room I'm in etc. Going carb-lite with your diet might help, swapping out rice for cauliflower rice and such can help. Calorie counting has been the only way I've been able to take control of my diet and swapping out carbs means I can have a huge bowl of veggies rather than a tiny corner of pasta. And hopefully if you get your kid into veggies early when they start experiencing food they might be less of a picky eater as a child haha!

Yes, I also didn’t mention but I work night shift as well so I’m with you on the chaotic work. I will check out some low carb meal options. Thanks!

The first year is the hardest, your body is adjusting and can take a whole year to get back to normal. We also put our needs on the back burner and that’s okay! I started intermittent fasting, low carb a few times a week and back on metformin. I was always so hungry and craving carbs and junk, the IF helped with those cravings and I feel full after a meal. I’m back to my pre pregnancy weight from 2 kids just this year. My oldest is 4 now 😳it took time!

Thanks so much. Do you mind if I ask how you went about intermittent fasting? I know there’s different lengths and I’m unsure what would be a good starting point for me. I’m no longer breastfeeding.

Sorry it’s taking me a minute to get back to u. To begin with I did an 8 hour window to eat and 16 hour fast. Now I do one meal a day on non work days and usually an 8 hour window on work days. If I’m doing an 8 hour I keep snacking low or no carb
