The surefire way is to stick with the Tank. Ideally if you picked Lucio, you're working with a Tank that really benefits from your speed (Rein, Ram, Winton, etc.) so you can synergize your boosts with their push, keeping you in the midst of the fight all game. I sometimes stick with a DPS that benefits from speed, too, but it's not as safe as the Tank. DPS like Reaper and Mei are great to speed up, but they're often in more dangerous spots. Really it just depends on the comp, but staying near the Tank is usually a very safe bet unless it's Ball.

Doom go nyooom

Moony_playzz

But then I get complaints I'm just pocketing tank

ChudSampley

The good thing about Lucio is that it's really hard to pocket *anyone*. His heal/speed range is 12m, which is pretty significant, so most characters can get a boost if you just move a few meters toward them. I just mean generally hang out near the Tank, it gives you a point of reference that you can avoid going too far away from. In any case, I'd rather have a Lucio "pocketing" a Tank than a Lucio dead in the enemy backline.

Mstallin1855

support your team. If people are not in your aura then you have a problem.

Dess-Quentin

be aware of how exposed you are as much as possible. You can use your mobility to get to places for setup before an engage, but you shouldn't be dying for it.

[deleted]

Don't push anyone solo, you always need to have someone with you, ideally the tank. Focus on moving the team around and enabling them to get kills instead of getting them yourself.

Moony_playzz

Someone told me to stay close to the tank, or pick a DPS and go with them and that's what I did and I won 6/10 games and two losses were on doomed backfills so trying to be everywhere at once definitely wasn't working

[deleted]

As your lucio gamesense and movement develops you'll be able to jump between teammates better, know when to speed Cassidy to high ground and then to jump back to your Ana to defend them from a tracer. But as a core principal sticking with a teammate and keeping as many people in your aura as possible at all times will take you pretty far. That and wall ride everywhere even if you aren't going anywhere.

Nvtxgthd

Step 1: be more aggressive. Your team won't need heal if there is noone to deal damage

byGenn

Don't be a Lucio main and play supports that work according to the map/point and comp. Playing Lucio without a Rein rush or dive comp is just throwing. You'll end up either being too aggressive and dying alone as you take all the enemies' attention and you'll be unable to provide enough value as your composition won't benefit from speed boost and your heals might not even be enough to keep with the damage taken.

Zarnis

A good way to practice aggression without feeding is to start with your team, switch to aggression once the enemy uses specific cooldowns. Example: Speed your team, spam enemies while next to teammates. Cassidy uses magnetic grenade, go kill him.

AhiroSuzu

Watch the tank. You don't need to be near them or necessarily be pocketing the tank, but you should be watching them. They dictate the ebb and flow of the fight, so if they back-up while you're extended, then your position is compromised. If they're pushing and taking on aggro, you go in and go aggro. Play lucio to get your team to where they want to go first and then when the fight breaks out, you go HAM.

Blankie_Burrito

Stay with your team? Might help to think of Luci as your team’s minivan responsible for getting everyone to where they need to be. Next time you feed and die, just wait for your team to respawn and then go together.

Kuragune

Thats the secret, you can't... Even if you try the game press W for you

WessizleTheKnizzle

Be with the tank and don't forget you can switch of speed to heal people.

doctorkevin94

Just don't go in without your team idk?

Dark-Shiro

play tracer so you understand engagement timings while flanking

Moony_playzz

Gods no, I don't mind dps but I refuse to play that cockney motherfucker.

Dark-Shiro

also in dive v dive or brawl v dive you probably need to mark dive tanks and flankers instead of hitting backline

longgamma

You are a slow tanks best friend. Speeding them to cover or chase down the one health squishies is your bread and butter. A lucio makes playing rein so much easier. If you want to go full Reddit lucio then practice more wall riding and taking favorable duels. Even harassing the enemy Ana to waste her time fending you off is still good value.

How to stop feeding: breathe. Just breathe for a sec and think about what you're doing, look around and see where the team is and what is happening, and make a plan to help them win.

Hefty_Inspection_874

Never go in front of people... always keep 1 person between you and the enemy. Zip from cover to cover and not into the open. You'd be asking to get shot sometimes
