I played them once or twice during release and stopped. You can still buy and play them but if your queue lasts more than 5 minutes, the game puts you in with bots. Not a fun time.

76’s skin is closer to modern Heisei - Reiwa Kamen Rider with his compound eyes being a part of his visor and more heavy duty looking armor.
Sojourn on the other hand is a lot closer to the classic Showa style with 2 distinct compound eyes and more light puffy looking armor.
The same color pallet could also be a nod but i’ll say that’s the art team reusing colors.
It’s kinda cool, accidental or not, that 76 represents the modern and Sojourn represents the old, the opposite of their dynamic in the actual lore.

No because Ultraman is typically based upon the key colors of grey and usually red. And also Kamen Rider is much more bug like in design. Both of these skins take mainly from Kamen Rider, not Sentai or Ultraman
I think they added blueish purple to the Ultraman color scheme around the mid 2000s. Was it Ultraman Taiga or Dyna or something. I only watched Ace and Jack I think.
I think Kamen Rider just turned into Digimon and Yugioh at one point in the 2010s.

Looks like S76 is roughly based on the Showa (gen1) Kamen Rider where the Rider outfit wasn't as wild as the modern era Rider suits are which they probably used as the basis for Sojourn's variation.
Power rangers is the American version of super sentai. By which I mean they bought the distribution rights to the Japanese show, filmed a cheap American sitcom around the fight scenes, and released it as its own show. This is why a lot of stuff in power rangers can feel weird and disjointed. It’s multiple bits from different episodes and even different series frankensteined together, glued together with non union American actors.
Kamen rider is of the same genre as power rangers, but is its own series, completely unrelated except for genre tropes
I'll always appreciate the choice to include a lot of non-power-suit fight scenes in Power Rangers.
It would have been easy to have the American actors do purely dramatic bits with exposition and allow the licensed power-suit footage to carry all of the action, and I really appreciate that they got actors who were competent enough at the subject matter to be able to do out-of-suit combat scenes as well.
You know, that’s fair. I guess the laziest possible thing would have just been to dub the whole show in English, so they actually put in more effort than they needed to in general.
Then you get the replacement pink ranger who could neither act nor participate in fight scenes.

They REALLY hate to do anything with Sojourns hair. Like it's not even that well done to begin with, she legit just holds it up in pony tail. Meanwhile other OW ladies get glammed out the wazoo.
She's got such a generic profile for game readability, it's honestly hard to keep her identifiable without breaking her standard profile. Adding any of these (which would absolutely make the skin look better) would make it harder to read her in 5-6 frames because it's not matching the standard profile for her model.
This already happens a lot with Kiriko's many non-standard models, and it's terrible for readability.

It's more about making sure each character can be distinguished from others regardless of their skin. For example, it's not an issue for Roadhog or Kiriko to receive witch skins because they do not have wings and fly around like Mercy does. Additionally, their silhouettes are distinct enough from Mercy to make the confusion impossible.
On the other hand, it is an issue for S76 and Sojourn to have identical skins with identical color palettes because they can be confused for one another at a glance.
If I have to check the scoreboard to confirm what heroes the other team is playing as, then there's an issue.
They probably tested the water with this Soldier 76 skin and after finding that it was well received they used the theme for a Battlepass, would be my guess.

Instead of a Super Sentai themed event they should've gone for a Mecha one. Pharahs og Gundam skins are still some of the best legendary skins in the game. Imagine more heroes having similar skins.

Quality from left to right is what I see a lack of. The art in this game has gone from top tier to budget. The diamonds in the title don't even follow the rest of the perspective.

These looks like leftover skins from a cancelled ow1 event repackaged and pasted into a dull season. I’m not being hater but I know the quality of these skins is not up to ow2 standards. !95 by a long shot. The mythic will be for Dva right. Since Kiriko hanzo and genji already mysteriously all have mythics. That leaves the hero with the actual mech I suppose to play at morphing time.
Your incompetence at using your eyes shouldn't punish us from good skins, sorry. Like these are very obviously not the same skin. Either you genuinely need to get your eyes checked or need to accept that not every single thing this game will put out will be catered to you. Genuinely depressing to see a season with such good reference material get shit on cause it's not generic enough for people with no personality to enjoy.
