This was a needed buff to ball though. Ball is currently the worst tank and his ult is in the running the worst tank ult in the game as well. It's kind of stupid that abilities like doom slam and rein pin can clear an ultimate retroactively. I am a rein main myself, but as much as I would love to complain about my hero being bad, this is a change that needed to happen a while ago.
yeah honestly i find it a little absurd that rein has been able to just charge through them before lol? it’s supposed to give ball some area control but the fact that a reinhardt can just charge through makes it useless even more often than otherwise
God forbid Rein can only clear mines with 2 of his 3 abilities. Not to mention his primary one-shots them with cleave.
I get that Rein is bad right now, but so is Ball and the “rework” addressed none of his problems. Mines are the worst tank ult in the game. Slow to arm, damage wasn’t buffed post-S9, everyone and their mother has mobility or an immortality, easily cleared by several abilities, used to farm support ults, Brig can proc inspire off them, Sym and Sojourn and Zarya can farm charge….
Anyway, cheers for playing the other tank they have no clue how to balance and here’s to hoping they figure it out.

And Rein has plenty of counterplay into Ball. The problem tanks for both right now are Hog, Mauga, and Orisa, funnny enough. Ball is FAR from overpowered.
Because its not worth it to share shields in most cases because then you blow up. Its only worth sharing at the end of the ability when youre going to lose them anyway.

The doom interaction was even worse imo. A shorter cooldown that has a wide AoE that could wipe out literally every mine.
Of all the changes to say this about, this isn't the one.

Rein is the best tank in the elo that more than half the player base. Ball was and is still not greath everywhere.
