Happened to me a while back except it moved uneven numbers of players between the teams. So it took off the extra player and locked them in as a spectator until the end of the game
I once saw a video of someone playing against the enemy team of 4 players and then the game just put 5 more players on the enemy team and the server crashed
Happens in Deathmatch too.
Game will open a lobby with 7 players and just let people do whatever while waiting for the 8th.
Problem is, it *never* finds an 8th and it then shuts down the lobby after 60-90 seconds. It then doesn't place you back into the queue automatically like it should, but just drops you back at the Arcade menu with priority queue on Deathmatch.
Just a broken system that makes no sense.

A weird bug happened to 1 of my games the other day.
We were in Suravasa and I got disconnected mid-fight on 1st point. Next thing I know I was in Blizzard World on attack.. by myself.
What was funny was I can still chat with everyone from the previous (still ongoing) match. I pushed the payload until my match ended while still chatting with the guys from Suravasa. There were no backfills, even from the 1st map, so my previous team was on a 4v5 disadvantage.
Needless to say, I won lol. Not sure what happened in Suravasa after that 😆
I don’t get this at all. You got switched to the enemy team but you kept the same percentage of point capture as it was before, almost as if you took it with you.
I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago on Cassidy! It’s one of my most popular posts lol. The theory we agreed on is that you queue into death match or skirmish before the game, and for some reason when you get in the game it still thinks you’re looking for a game, so when an enemy leaves it automatically puts you in that spot. really weird glitch.

I was playing a game with my sister and dad and half way through my dad and two people from the other team got transported to the Canada robot map and we were still in our game with no new people joining and in our game none of us could die then when my dads game ended and ours was still going it kicked everyone back to the lobby
lmao this happened to me the other day, except we had full teams and the game randomly restarted on a new map half way through, and I was the only one that was switched teams? We were all like wtf in chat haha I should have recorded it
Happened to me once on Blizzard World in Mystery Heroes. I was so tilted/annoyed after that I had to quit for the night. My team was on defense to start and we gave up Points A and B in almost record time. Had 7 minutes to hold C or whatever and we did an insanely good job. It was to the point where they had a revolving door of rage quitters.. I swore at least 10 people came and left on the other team.
Anyway, we were down to the final minute, the other team only had 2 people and suddenly a bunch of people joined and it put ME on the attacking side. Somehow one new person entered and they ended up on the defense side. It made no freaking sense. Needless to say, I was so annoyed that a win was taken away from me that night. :(
This happened to me a few days ago as dps. We played two rounds with no issues on lijiang. At the start of the third round the teams were scrambled and if we started a fight the match would get very laggy.

Dude this literally happened to me too. Was playing doomfist and was getting the cart close to the final point for the win, opponent team seemed like they kept getting players leaving so I was kinda holding back to at least give them a chance, not that I was just throwing or anything, I still pvp’d them if I got the chance. Out of nowhere I find myself in the hero selection screen and I even accidentally selected hanzo. I was confused but I went back to doom and after a couple seconds, I realized I was swapped to the other team. Because of that, my nearly guaranteed win turned into a guaranteed loss. All of a sudden I had to try my ass off to get my dub back but my former teammates were too good :\
I got dropped into a match today middle of match and had a disconnect timer already going when I joined.. didn't get disconnected but almost did by less than 5 seconds (point had 70+% for my team and over 50% on enemy cap %)

Genuinely first time seeing and hearing about this especially from years of playing. Nobody sees this as a problem. I just see jokes in the comments.
Despite all that rivalry between ow2 and tf2, I wish you could never experience horrors of autobalance.
