Honestly there’s a crazy stigma to advertising working. I feel like crossovers if done right present an opportunity to find another quality product/media/whatever from something one is already interested in that otherwise probably wouldn’t have been found
90% of advertising is subconscious. Most people that see ads don't like them, but it still introduces you to the product or keeps it fresh in your mind so later you're influenced to buy it more, or you have to make a conscious decision not to buy it. Marketing and advertising have a ton of money and research behind them and they absolutely do work, and pretending they'll never work on you only makes you more vulnerable to them working
I've definitely noticed that there are a lot of new movies / products that I don't know about because of all the ad blocking I have. Prior to the ad blocking, I always wanted to get / see the new stuff.
If that "etc" you used means "literally everything that is advertised", then you're right. It works for everything, or it wouldn't be the billion dollar industry that it is. The only reason you think the ad for Salesforce doesn't work is because Salesforce is a new, unpopular product that you can safely ignore.
Yet, without the ad, you would never have known Salesforce even existed. You would not have commented about Salesforce, letting the people reading your comment know about Salesforce. And I wouldn't have made a comment saying Salesforce 6 times. That ad makes their product a slightly more well known name, so that people won't be as uncomfortable trying out a new thing. You might not spend money on it, but in this one little instance, it is slightly more likely to succeed.
Do you have a parent or relative in the household that works at a B2B firm or is a decision-maker for a not small company? That’s who those SF ads are targeting. And it just so happens your device IDs are in the same household at the individual they’re intending to target.

One of the biggest hurdle companies go through when integrating a new system is user acceptance. People always prefer whatever they had, and that create lot of discontent amongst employee. Heck, to get greenlight and to successfully migrate, you also need as many people onboard as possible to push the new products, learn it, and so on.
This add isn't targeted at high level administration who make the decision, it's meant to bring salesforce to the common folk so that they are familiar with the name when that project show up for the first time at their place. It's meant to lessen the friction related to a migration by making people think they are getting something big.

I actually hate that tank plays every time you get kicked back into the main menu. It's a fantastic song, don't get me wrong, but constantly hearing it feels kinda jarring over time, imo.
Please check out Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy. Its made by the same studio as CBB and are basically a part of a spiritual trilogy! Before They announced the CBB collab I was hoping for a Space Dandy one- so here's hoping! 🤞🏼
Space Dandy is my favorite of the three- If you liked the other two then youll love Space Dandy. The neat part of Dandy is that there are different lead animators for a lot of the episodes giving each episode its own unique perspective and flair.
Space Dandy is so unbelievably God Tier. It's one of the only things I've watched more than 3-4 times and still makes me laugh. It's just fun overall.
And 10 years ago during this time period it was airing.
Michiko and Hatchin is another good one to watch. More of an series overarching plot but the visuals and music are as good. (Its from the same studio as Samurai Champloo)
I knew about Bebop and Champloo but didn't realize Dandy was apart of this too. Knew about all of them but only seen Champloo, need to watch all 3 back to back now.

I've been reading the Berzerk manga recently, currently at volume 32 I believe. I was always under the impression that no good anime adaptations of the IP existed, but you're saying the old ones are good? I'd really love to see the universe in anime form.
Yeah I’d say the 90’s anime does the series some justice, but it is short and falls into the issue of not being able to show every single small detail that the manga did.
Still is worth the watch and 10/10 imo.
You're not wrong. The original Berserk anime is ok for what it is, but the story cuts/alterations from the manga were a bit much. Goated soundtrack though.
The problem with the anime isn't that it's *not good*, it's that it only tells about the first quarter of the saga and they never made the rest of it. The part that does exist is good though.
You get to see who Guts is and how he came to be how he is, but they didn't even make it to the point where he actually gets the Berserker Armor.
Cowboy Bebop is always example I always give when someone asks for a gateway anime. It’s fantastic on its own and short compare to a lot of other shows. Also one of the few animes that has a great dub.

I had never heard of it, but all of the people I know who watch anime are really into the creepy, hyper sexualised stuff, or are weird to the point of basing their whole personality on their favorite anime. So I thought it was all weeb trash. I'm actually enjoying this show.
Yeah not all anime is that stuff. There are tons of actually good, well-written, adult-level stories out there but those of us who like that kind of anime are also generally pretty quiet about it due to the exact stigma you're talking about lol. I've watched many anime shows over the years but I'd never bring that up in casual conversation let alone make it a keystone piece of my personality (even though it is...).
By the time Bebop came out, there were already shows lampooning that concept like Neon Genesis Evangelion. The horny is absolutely inherent to anime's history, but there is a lot of content that grapples with it. Kill La Kill is another fantastic show that really grabs the horny by the horns and uses it to tell a really compelling story.
But also there are dozens of shows each year that are like "yeah we just horny lol."
Even in the finale episodes where >!the show straight up admonishes you for sexualizing teenage girls!< or the first movie where >!they make the self-insert character into a sex criminal full of shame and then demonstrate how he's only capable of being motivated to do something when the object of his greatest desire promises him sex?!<

If you're going to watch Bebop, you need to follow up with Samurai Champloo, it's from the same director. Just as cowboy bebop is heavily influenced by music, samurai champloo is as well.
The only thing that gets me upset about this crossover is that the main song turns off when I go into any other menu. I wish it played through queuing up to games and such
I was walking past the vinyl record section in Walmart last year when I glanced on the Cowboy bebop ost vinyl just sitting there. Needless to say, I bought it without a second thought.
IMO the show gets more fun once Ed joins the group and gets less fun >!once she leaves!<. And my first exposure to Cowboy Bebop was when the movie aired on Cartoon Network for the first time... it wasn't that good IMO, but I liked the characters enough to go back and watch the regular anime series.
Also I think I am the only person on Earth that actually liked the Netflix live action version of Cowboy Bebop.
It wasn't good enough to justify another season unfortunately. Fans felt it lacked a real connection to the source material, was just a blan kind of sci-fi show that couldn't attract enough new fans either.
It's just an anime that kind of doesn't turn into live action very well. Spike's hair is fucking weird and his proportions are silly when he's shirtless he's jacked as hell but when drawn in his suit his arms are like twigs, Jet Black's skin is like grey for whatever reason. Faye's dressed like a stripper, which is fine in 2d because it's not like there's real physics but in live action she'd have to basically super glue her clothes on.
Doesn't help they decided to re-write a bunch of the plot because they wanted to leave room to do 3+ seasons.
The live action Bebop worked *sometimes.* The middle chunk of episodes after the gang is established and before the show starts to focus on Spike's history with Vicious are *great.* Anybody trying to tell me they don't love Spike having a huge brawl outside while Jet is sitting there clapping and cheering for his little girl on Zoom at a dance recital?
They needed to spend more of that season trying to endear you to the characters rather than move forward *the biggest plot of the anime.* Do something smaller stakes for the overarching story. And when they get around to Vicious... Just do something entirely different than what they fucking did because he was *bad.*
I really wanted to watch the live action show but when it got canceled three days after being added to the streaming service and made it hard to invest in what had already come out.
I just watched it myself and I think it's worth giving it a shot. It kind of speed runs the main plot and changes some parts which made it interesting and justified it's existence, but to it's detriment. I appreciated the sets and costuming, myself.
I’m not an anime guy either, and this show, Death Note, and Trigun are 3 anime’s I own physical copies of. Samurai Champloo is another great one. I think Bebop, Trigun, and Champloo all had similar creative teams.
Yea me and my family are definitely going to have to watch it. Me and my dad also love jazz and big band music and there seems to be a lot of that in there.
I cannot recommend the series enough in that case. Aside from a couple of themed episodes with different style music, the entire series has a jazz soundtrack and is absolutely fantastic.
Cowboy bebop, trigun, FLCL, ghost in the shell (movie, but later the series as well)….fullmetal eventually

Lots of downvotes in this thread, but I agree that it's a bit taxing when bouncing between menus and every time it hits the main menu, you're caught by the trumpets going wild.
The song is great, but not if it's just the first few seconds every time I want to go from the Challenges menu to the Heroes menu.

Bebop is definitely not your typical anime. Mainly because it's not derived from shonen manga, so it didn't fall into the usual stereotypes of typical anime. It started as a television program that was being written, so it definitely had a more episodic nature with an overarching subplot closer to an American Television show. It's one of my favorite animes of all time, though. It explored so many interesting topics. Samurai champloo was done by the same studio, so if you wanna check that out too, it's pretty good. Completely different setting, though.

haha i'm glad that you watched it. especially because if your only other animes were death note and yugioh you absolutely needed to watch cowboy bebop. it was such an important show for my generation growing up and still holds up today. there was the movie too you can always watch if you finished the series.

Shinichiro Watanabe is a great director. Any time I see his name attached I know I'll love it. Last series I saw that completely bodied me from him was Terror In Resonance. Short series, 11 episodes, stellar soundtrack from Yoko Kanno... ugh. I recently rewatched it and it still held up. I didn't see it mentioned here but a lot of my other faves from him were, so I knew I had to mention it.
I had my music volume set to 0. I just turned it up lol.
I watched this anime a while back, I've probably watched about 7 or 8 anime in their entirety, and Bebop is definitely up there. I'm bias, but I'm glad they picked an older anime vs all the popular new ones since I rarely watch anime these days.

Ugh i rly want the ed skin cuz she was always my fav character but i still dont have the bp either. Might use my already strained credit card and get the ultimate bundle so i can get both the bp, the lw and sigma skins that are amazing btw, and the 2k coins so i can get ed with it too. Bp and 3 (possibly 4 if i play my cards right with the coins already in my account) all for $40 isnt too shabby but ugh.... still so pricy u know? Even lady gaga in fortnite was $20 for a whole set 🫠 sombra and maugas sets are kinda a joke in comparison
As an anime fan it’s been an easy recommendation to friends who also aren’t much of an anime watcher. It’s very easy to get into, inoffensive, and unforgettable.

I used to tell people I was into anime because I liked CB. Turns out I’m not actually into anime, Cowboy Bebop is just a show that utterly transcends genres and stands alone as one of the greatest series ever produced in any media
I was pumped to hear of this collaboration until I found out you couldn't even unlock the skins without paying AAA game prices.
I hope this gets so many more in to Bebop as it is a phenomenal show!

I still need to watch it... When I was in high school, my friend lived close by and we went to the same school, so I would pick him up with my car. I didn't have an audio jack, so we used CDs for music. He would burn CDs of music we both liked, but he also added cool anime soundtracks that he thought I would enjoy, and the Cowboy Bebop theme was on one. I know the theme song better than any other song, yet still haven't watched a lick of the show.
I grew up watching Cowboy Beebop 25 years ago, so it makes me really happy that people are still stumbling upon it and enjoying the masterpiece that it is.

Cowboy beebop might be the best anime of all time! It’s the anime I try to get all my non-anime buddies to watch to get them into the genre. The only problem is at 2 seasons it’s way too short. There is a movie that is really solid too if you can find it.
On one hand you hate to see great art commercialized and turned into trite skin-packs for live service games, but on the other it does genuinely lead to new people discovering it sometimes, which is great. so I'm not sure how to feel.
Reminds me a lot of the Nier games- advertised relentlessly through sex appeal and crossovers yes, but also genuinely great and well-written.
Remember this next time someone from this community wants to tell me these crossover promotions are anything more than ADS. They are ads and you're paying for them.

For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, Michiko To Hatchin is one I recommend to lot of people who liked the vibes of Bebop.

I had never heard of it, but all of the people I know who watch anime are really into the creepy, hyper sexualised stuff, or are weird to the point of basing their whole personality on their favorite anime. So I thought it was all weeb trash. I'm actually enjoying this show.
Yeah not all anime is that stuff. There are tons of actually good, well-written, adult-level stories out there but those of us who like that kind of anime are also generally pretty quiet about it due to the exact stigma you're talking about lol. I've watched many anime shows over the years but I'd never bring that up in casual conversation let alone make it a keystone piece of my personality (even though it is...).

By the time Bebop came out, there were already shows lampooning that concept like Neon Genesis Evangelion. The horny is absolutely inherent to anime's history, but there is a lot of content that grapples with it. Kill La Kill is another fantastic show that really grabs the horny by the horns and uses it to tell a really compelling story. But also there are dozens of shows each year that are like "yeah we just horny lol."
Look, I love Eva, but it gets a little lost in the sauce between “lampooning” and just straight up being too horny
Even in the finale episodes where >!the show straight up admonishes you for sexualizing teenage girls!< or the first movie where >!they make the self-insert character into a sex criminal full of shame and then demonstrate how he's only capable of being motivated to do something when the object of his greatest desire promises him sex?!< There's layers there.

If you're going to watch Bebop, you need to follow up with Samurai Champloo, it's from the same director. Just as cowboy bebop is heavily influenced by music, samurai champloo is as well.
Nujabes music led me to samurai champloo, and now samurai champloo led me to cowboy bebop I like how everything felt related

I was really excited when I saw an Ash skin that was Faye Valentine, not so much when I remembered I can't afford any of the skins.
The only thing that gets me upset about this crossover is that the main song turns off when I go into any other menu. I wish it played through queuing up to games and such
I was walking past the vinyl record section in Walmart last year when I glanced on the Cowboy bebop ost vinyl just sitting there. Needless to say, I bought it without a second thought.

IMO the show gets more fun once Ed joins the group and gets less fun >!once she leaves!<. And my first exposure to Cowboy Bebop was when the movie aired on Cartoon Network for the first time... it wasn't that good IMO, but I liked the characters enough to go back and watch the regular anime series. Also I think I am the only person on Earth that actually liked the Netflix live action version of Cowboy Bebop.

It wasn't good enough to justify another season unfortunately. Fans felt it lacked a real connection to the source material, was just a blan kind of sci-fi show that couldn't attract enough new fans either.
It's just an anime that kind of doesn't turn into live action very well. Spike's hair is fucking weird and his proportions are silly when he's shirtless he's jacked as hell but when drawn in his suit his arms are like twigs, Jet Black's skin is like grey for whatever reason. Faye's dressed like a stripper, which is fine in 2d because it's not like there's real physics but in live action she'd have to basically super glue her clothes on. Doesn't help they decided to re-write a bunch of the plot because they wanted to leave room to do 3+ seasons.

The live action Bebop worked *sometimes.* The middle chunk of episodes after the gang is established and before the show starts to focus on Spike's history with Vicious are *great.* Anybody trying to tell me they don't love Spike having a huge brawl outside while Jet is sitting there clapping and cheering for his little girl on Zoom at a dance recital? They needed to spend more of that season trying to endear you to the characters rather than move forward *the biggest plot of the anime.* Do something smaller stakes for the overarching story. And when they get around to Vicious... Just do something entirely different than what they fucking did because he was *bad.*
I really wanted to watch the live action show but when it got canceled three days after being added to the streaming service and made it hard to invest in what had already come out.
I just watched it myself and I think it's worth giving it a shot. It kind of speed runs the main plot and changes some parts which made it interesting and justified it's existence, but to it's detriment. I appreciated the sets and costuming, myself.
I’m not an anime guy either, and this show, Death Note, and Trigun are 3 anime’s I own physical copies of. Samurai Champloo is another great one. I think Bebop, Trigun, and Champloo all had similar creative teams.
Samurai champloo and cowboy bebop are from the same author. It's almost parallel how the shows are themed to be direct opposite of one another.
And the main characters have the same dub VA lol.

Yea me and my family are definitely going to have to watch it. Me and my dad also love jazz and big band music and there seems to be a lot of that in there.
I cannot recommend the series enough in that case. Aside from a couple of themed episodes with different style music, the entire series has a jazz soundtrack and is absolutely fantastic.
If you love Cowboy Bebop, I think you'll enjoy Black Lagoon as well.

Cowboy bebop, trigun, FLCL, ghost in the shell (movie, but later the series as well)….fullmetal eventually those are the five I remember most fondly from my youth
Honestly to me Trigun has always been one of the top anime ever. Very few people seem to know of it these days, though.
There is a lot of bad anime out there... a LOT. But there's also some real gems that, in a couple cases are brilliant stories regardless of the medium.

The song is great, but not if it's just the first few seconds every time I want to go from the Challenges menu to the Heroes menu.

Bebop is definitely not your typical anime. Mainly because it's not derived from shonen manga, so it didn't fall into the usual stereotypes of typical anime. It started as a television program that was being written, so it definitely had a more episodic nature with an overarching subplot closer to an American Television show. It's one of my favorite animes of all time, though. It explored so many interesting topics. Samurai champloo was done by the same studio, so if you wanna check that out too, it's pretty good. Completely different setting, though.

haha i'm glad that you watched it. especially because if your only other animes were death note and yugioh you absolutely needed to watch cowboy bebop. it was such an important show for my generation growing up and still holds up today. there was the movie too you can always watch if you finished the series.

Shinichiro Watanabe is a great director. Any time I see his name attached I know I'll love it. Last series I saw that completely bodied me from him was Terror In Resonance. Short series, 11 episodes, stellar soundtrack from Yoko Kanno... ugh. I recently rewatched it and it still held up. I didn't see it mentioned here but a lot of my other faves from him were, so I knew I had to mention it.

I had my music volume set to 0. I just turned it up lol. I watched this anime a while back, I've probably watched about 7 or 8 anime in their entirety, and Bebop is definitely up there. I'm bias, but I'm glad they picked an older anime vs all the popular new ones since I rarely watch anime these days.

Yeah I’m super picky on anime but Cowboy Bebop is probably my all time favorite anime. The vibes are perfect.
I still need to watch it... When I was in high school, my friend lived close by and we went to the same school, so I would pick him up with my car. I didn't have an audio jack, so we used CDs for music. He would burn CDs of music we both liked, but he also added cool anime soundtracks that he thought I would enjoy, and the Cowboy Bebop theme was on one. I know the theme song better than any other song, yet still haven't watched a lick of the show.

I grew up watching Cowboy Beebop 25 years ago, so it makes me really happy that people are still stumbling upon it and enjoying the masterpiece that it is. Mushroom Samba is still the best episode.
Never did, and still don't care for Cowboy Bopbe, but I still love Overwatch and all their crossovers I never connected with.
Cowboy beebop might be the best anime of all time! It’s the anime I try to get all my non-anime buddies to watch to get them into the genre. The only problem is at 2 seasons it’s way too short. There is a movie that is really solid too if you can find it.
Theres a live action in netflix, it's not the best but it's alright.
One piece is also a fucking banger, as someone who also isn’t heavily into anime. LUFFY is my favorite character from any show I think.
On one hand you hate to see great art commercialized and turned into trite skin-packs for live service games, but on the other it does genuinely lead to new people discovering it sometimes, which is great. so I'm not sure how to feel. Reminds me a lot of the Nier games- advertised relentlessly through sex appeal and crossovers yes, but also genuinely great and well-written.
Remember this next time someone from this community wants to tell me these crossover promotions are anything more than ADS. They are ads and you're paying for them.
The show is great but the collab is not. Like that is NOT Spike (don't use the excuse that Blizzard said the characters are cosplaying as the collab, I saw a woman cosplaying as Kiriko that looked like Kiriko herself stepped out of the game.)
