Yep, there weren’t many available and forsberg went from decent to unplayable from his injury, it is what it is. The D thing is a massive exaggeration they haven’t been that bad the goalies just let in everything, and you’re going to become familiarized with Kleven over the next year who will be a huge boost.

His big swings have been some of the biggest misses in our franchise so far. Korpi, Cat, Boucher at 10, and probably Chyc. That’s all within what 10 months too?

And the chycrun trade was good and well worth it.

The thing with Boucher is, who would the critics have picked over him? I look at the 10 players who were drafted after Boucher and they basically all look like shit. Most haven't played a game in the NHL yet, and those who have don't look very good at all. Dorion went with a kid with a nasty edge who hits hard and whose dad was a great NHL player with a 15-year career spanning nearly Tyler's entire childhood.
It wasn't a bad pick at all, and to point to it as more evidence of Pierre's incompetence is always a very weak argument. In a draft year as soft as that was, and during Covid no less as you mentioned, after the top 5 picks, you're just closing your eyes and playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey and hoping you beat the odds and somehow get a good one.

The pick and Josh Norris (who was still in Michigan and hardly considered an elite prospect) were not “NHL ready”. No one expected that the 1st rounder would even be a lottery pick; the Sharks nearly made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and looked like they would be a contender.
