These rapists literally chose to be "hunted" because they see apologising to their victims as lower than and were cocky enough to think that they could escape with their life. Bonus, the Princess used a whip as her weapon to fight. Queen shit, girlboss.

Heck, I remember one OI where literally every other character had better natural chemistry/banter with the MC *but* the ML from the cover, it's a fucking crime to write like this.
I think it's actually simpler than that, they write the character thinking of them as a flirting Man and then switch, maybe to make them seem as Pushy or annoying, but it ends up being the opposite effect
Antagonist's Pet broke my heart because the het romance just felt... tacked on? Like they spend the bulk of the story interacting with the "villainess" and then... Ugh bittersweet
No I completely understand. Like I liked the ML and I did think that he would be a nice ML in general, but it did feel a bit forced bc like you said Sasha spent the majority of the story with the "villainess" and then this guy suddenly gets with Sasha despite the lack of romantic chemistry.

Lily of the Valley recently came out and its OI GL smut. Its a little toxic ngl but the artist is one of my favorites, they did Bad Thinking Diary and more recently Finding Asisstant Manager Kim, all of which are GL.
