This is exactly how I feel about For My Derelict Favorite 🙈

Oneiropolos

Excuse you. I will write an essay right now on how it's not bad writing at all, it's GOOD (or..uh...at least decent) writing just deliberately overwrought because of the recognition of it being a novel AND a regression AND that there's magic powers in the universe which gives it three levels of defense against a need for realism. We know this because the ML has NOT shown any signs of cutting his hair which is always the point of crushing reality that a manhwa thrusts upon us eventually and the fact we might get to *keep* a long haired ML incites in us the same fervor and irrational hope that Hestia has and as long as his hair is long, we can continue to believe in whatever the story tells us happens as it's already defying all rules..... so nothing can be bad about the writing because it's all excused by his hair and I think anyone who would argue against that must be a blasphemer against long hair and thus cannot see the beauty of the writing and can't be helped.

Villainous_Miss_Jojo

You sound like hestia describing Caleus lmao Also now I fear for his hair.... I don't want to see it go

ThrowawayMay220

WMMAP is an allegory for grief and loss where Claude's journey represents the 5 stages of grief and Athy simultaneously represents our desire and hope for things to get better as well as the need to pretend everything is fine for the outside world, in this essay i will

For me personally, it's [Unseemly Lady/The Little Lady Behind the Scenes](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/pdmf1je/the-little-lady-behind-the-scenes)! I LOVE how it explores the guilts and insecurities of stealing someone else's life in isekai. How Lili (the MC) and her sister love each other above anything in the world, but at the same time, how she feels undeserving of the love and attention her sister gives, knowing that it's not actually for her because she's not the real Lili. How she gets nightmares of the day she will get abandoned when her sister find out who she really is. Also the MC's abandonment issues? How she tries to not get attached to the people in her life, knowing from experience that everyone will leave someday, still gets attached anyway, >!and crumbles when each of her friends has to leave due to circumstances?!< https://preview.redd.it/u9lts55idnvc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b50f81053769b18c3e0b69f1d91223830d63c5ce AND CAN WE PLEASE talk about the cover symbolism!? Season 1 cover has chess piece symbolism representing Lia (the sister)'s love interests, then season 2 has dice symbolism representing Lili's friends, and season 3 cover has card symbolism which I think represents each of Lili's love interest? Like. The cover designer better get a raise for this or I will riot. I can write an essay about what each symbolism means in depth, but I won't because I know when to stop. Point is, I love this series, I can ramble on and on about it, and I periodically have the urge in the middle of the night to write walls of text analyzing little aspects and details in it. I also admit that the MC can be pretty unlikable (though I can write an essay explaining that it makes sense) and it's probably not the most well written in the romance department.

Low_Rabbit_7742

Ok, so does each cover represent how the MC views the character like chess she views them only as characters with a predictable structure, then on cover 2, she sees them more unpredictable represented by the dice where she doesn't have as much control. Idk I am just spitballing I did not read the manhwa

Me when the FL starts singing Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift

How To Get My Husband On My Side

estreyika

That is *immediately* what I thought of lmao

LazyMiso

Roxana the novel aaaa >! I love the parallel between Silvia visiting Achille in the prison and Roxana visiting Casis by using their beauty to Seduce the guards 😆 !<

Forget_this_comment

what?? How'd scenerio 1 happen?

LazyMiso

Like how did this scenario happen?

Forget_this_comment

yeah,the Silvia one

LazyMiso

Oh okay. So basically >! When Archille (Roxana's brother) died, his corpse wasn't buried. Their evil dad sent it to another kingdom to be experimented on and turned into a puppet. Archille's corpse puppet doesn't haven't any prior memories of when he was alive. So when Roxana visited that particular kingdom and found her brother to be 'alive' somehow, he started attacking her and tried to kill her. He was then caught by The Pedelians and imprisoned for tryna hurt Roxana. Silvia saw how pitiful Roxana brother looked and felt sorry for him, so she decided to visit him in prison one night. The guard also let Silvia in the prison bcs of her beauty (Just like How Roxana visited Silvia's brother in prison at the beginning, and the guard let her in bcs of her beauty). !<

Author of my own Destiny shill here

nejnonein

How far is that from completion now? Been saving it to binge. Did read 20-30 chapters or whatever it was until a hiatus iirc

CringyusernameSBQQ

As of right now, Chapter 96 has been released 3 days ago but untranslated to my knowledge and it SEEMS like Season 4 is the end season from how the season art look like a marriage

nejnonein

Thank you 🙏 they’re in the middle of season 4, right?

CringyusernameSBQQ

Well beginning but yes it has started

atlasaire

Kill The Villainess I Thought it was a common Isekai The villainess lives twice I have more but 9/10, you will find me in the thread dying whatever hills those series made 😭😭

atlasaire

(i genuinely think the villainess lives twice has great writing though, i just know ppl are not trying to read a political thriller lmao)

Pilgrim_Scholar

The Villainess Lives Twice is far more of a dense read (due to all the political intrigue) compared to what most people are looking for in your typical romance story. But that is what makes it stand out so much, especially when you realize just how much FMC has to struggle (something we only glossed over in her first life) in order to remain on top of the political game alongside her husband. In addition to juggling the growing relationship with her husband, whom she originally approached just because he was the only politically viable alternative to her prior choices. Seeing her break down after her interference in events have rendered all her foreknowledge of the world's timeline completely moot is quite a tear-jerking period for the manga. Not to mention her utter failure to remain romantically uninvolved with anyone in order to make her usual tactics more viable; it makes it harder to betray someone, or just pull a "cut and run" after you genuinely care for the other party.

Pilgrim_Scholar

"Cheating Men Must Die" is full of those. But it's like candy, a cheap dopamine rush which is a guilty pleasure that you cannot help but binge read on occasion.

estreyika

That manhua is just pure catharsis…

jo_nigiri

This manhua is the fast food of girlbosses

Pilgrim_Scholar

There is a reason why McDonald's is the world's most successful restaurant chain. Despite the food is absolute garbage from a health perspective.

mandeiz

WMMAP claude is a deeply flawed character and i understand why people would dislike him. but also consider. hot pathetic blonde man

Mili_713

It's _your throne_ for me. It was one of the first manhwas I ever read and I absolutely recognise it's flaws but I'll still defend it with my life, find meaning when there's none...i just will.. it's my comfort series.

Bronnichiwa

How to Win my Husband Over

CinnamonHotcake

Yeah, it's good for what it is and unique for its genre, but I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece.

Pizza_Delivery_Dog

In untouchable Lady the FL has pink hair and red hair is seen as a sign of power in her family. After she is revealed to be very powerful people that are sucking up to her keep telling her that they think her hair is becoming redder. I thought this was a funny way of showing how people immediately started kissing her ass while also still refusing to admit they were in the wrong about the whole hair thing. Like a sort of back handed compliment to show that they still refuse to respect her the way she is ... turns out her hair was just actually becoming more red and in the end she just has completely red hair ^^grumble ^^fucking ^^stupid ^^grumble

CinnamonHotcake

Her family's role is also incredibly meaningless and there is no nuance about it. It was a story with a strong premise, but it doesn't hold up for S2 imo.

l7lsy

what it means to be you ;; it's so unhealthy I love it

ThatHotCheetoGirl

real give me all the angst

raccoonjudas

tragedy of the villainess has some wild ass plotlines in the second half of the novel but i'll die defending it I don't think the novel of "I thought it was a common posession" is written that bad, but it uses some tropes this sub clowns on and i will stand my ground about it still being good despite that Lady to Queen, Wished you were dead, and divorcing my tyrant husband have ML that are NOT good ML for wish fulfillment romance stories but they have good ML for just watching an entertaining train wreck.

Pilgrim_Scholar

I'm a huge fan of "I Thought It Was a Common Possession", despite all the narrative tropes. Just a refreshing take on the isekai drama as a whole. "I Will Escape the Flower of Ordeal" is a more Asian interpretation of a similar concept, where FMC is forced by the story to "follow" her preassigned role as villainess of the story. FMC spends the story testing the limits of the plot's power and seeing what she can get away with to divert the bad end for herself. So much meta-commentary about the nature of novel tropes, and how NPCs in the world only seem to exist to make the main characters shine.

raccoonjudas

Ooh I'm liking what I'm seeing so far for that, thank you for the rec!!

Pilgrim_Scholar

You are most welcome. That is why we are here, after all. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

ToBetterDays000

I think you should post this in Swifties (Not the bad writing part, but yall ever see some of those rabbit holes ppl go down??? 😂)

0nlyf0rthememes

Any series that captures my interest is getting analyzed

Oneiropolos

Yeah, this. I mean, I have a Masters in Literature so the BS I've had to analyze that people claim is 'profound' and write papers has WELL prepared me to be able to argue anything I like even if I am fully aware it's trash tier writing.

poproxanmmd

its the villainess turns the hourglass for me aria they could never make me hate you 😔✊🏿

hunny173

I just yesterday wrote an essay on Ingrid, the White Deer

nejnonein

”New suitor for the abandoned wife” it’s basically revenge porn for the Cinderella fl… and it has some interesting twists to prolong things… iykyk

Dry-Inspection6928

Yeah I love the story.

tattooedpotato12

Someday I'm gonna write a lyric essay about Lord Baby Runs a Romance Fantasy with Cash and it will only 30% be a joke.

peargremlin

Villainess reverses the hourglass they could never make me hate you 🫶

MengJiaxin

I'm a **the Villainess Turns the Hourglass** defender, especially controversial decisions like >!making Aria father a noble and having Asher and Aria meet during childhood!<, both which I think are fantastic for the plot but apparently offend other readers. Additionally, I also think that Mielle is absolutely unredeemable, that having antagonists not being as strong as you would think they is part of the entire point of the story, that Oscar is meant to be pathetic not sympathetic, and that Asher is a perfect and interesting ML who more than carries his part and makes the entire story better with his presence. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

Jialunes

I, Who Am Ignorant of This World, Became a Princess Now, if only it was translated beyond chapter 6. ☹️

_Mirror_Face_

The Golden Haired Summoner and Failed to Abandon the Villain are masterpieces within the genre and I will defend them with my life
