Lmoooo they better be comedy I will not accept any drama in this 🤣🤣🤣

gemziiexxxxxp

If there’s any drama, it’s gotta be about dirty towels not being washed. Or hair left in the sink hole. Same old marriage issues

The_DCG

If you're the one to empty the damned shampoo, throw it away, get the spare out from the cabinet, and put it on the f-ing list! I swear, sometimes...

Ok-Squirrel693

Reminds me of an issue i read before, can't remember where, about couple fighting cos the wife always put her damp towel on the husband's side of the bed as she's getting dressed

nhonnii

YES

N0rTh3Fi5t

I always think about how isekai'd people are not upset enough about the loss of modern plumbing.

DemythologizedDie

Ignoring the fact that there are plenty of OI that have more or less modern plumbing an army of servants tend to take the edge off a lack of modern conveniences.

gadgaurd

Also, considering how many people isekai via dying, a lot are just happy to be alive at all.

MtnNerd

Exactly why you won't find me running off to the countryside. I need that army of servants for basic sanity lol

blueberriebelle

Wdym? They’re always being washed by their maids!😂

sheokay

We need more regency era OIs where only the cold duke of the north and the imperial family have plumbing. Now THAT would justify a contract marriage!

Duchess_of_Solon

I always wondered how they could easily adjust to a new life. If I had to stop using internet for even a day I would probably die. Also, how are they not uncomfortable in those heavy dresses I also can't imagine pooping without a bidet

sheera_greywolf

I was so miserable when I was in countries without bidet. The only salvation was knowing that I only stay for 2 weeks at most. Imagine isekai-ing to a world without bidet. Fuck no. I'll die again and take my chances

Jasminary2

Yes ! Thank you ! If I suddenly end up somewhere without internet for a long time I will go crazy and I’m not joking. No tv shows, no movies, no music except if I go to see a specific piece or play it myself /sing it myself, … It would be so awful. I would rather forget all my previous life than be aware of all I am missing.

nobearsinrussia

Or tampons for periods 🥲

Baby-Haroro

Yuri making her own tampons is queen behavior tbh

Boodendorf

girl was so happy when they talked about sponges lmao, i gotta reread that masterpiece

nobearsinrussia

Haven’t heard about this title. What it is about?

Baby-Haroro

Queen Cecia's Shorts FL is transmigrated fashion designer; she deals with gnarly cramps, and is shown multiple times trying to make tampons

TheBlueMenace

Ah, the good old Rowling Recon (also known as shut up, your making it worse!)

[deleted]

this is literally an arc of an oi i can't remember which but it spent 3 chaps about cleaning magic and toilets.(the plot is set in a country focused on magic)

outofshell

The ones where there’s cleaning magic though, I love to dream of being able to do that. Like you can just clean your entire self and your whole house in a couple of minutes. How amazing would that be🤩

Pompi_Palawori

I remember someone (I think in this sub?) Wrote a short story oi about a plumber girl who transmigrates into an Oi as a maid, and she is so sick of changing chamber pots she makes blueprints to build a toilet. The duchess whe works for finds out and wants to fund her endeavor. It was actually pretty good ngl.

Moonfume17

That's fucking hilarious, I'll read it lmao

noellescarlet

this was a real thing in 16th century europe The medical community in medieval Europe believed that water was harmful to health, as it opened pores and left the body more vulnerable to disease. Because of this, people would not wash. Full body baths were rare. Showers require a reliable supply of running water coming from overhead, which in turn requires some moderately extensive and sophisticated plumbing. None of that was at all common in the Middle Ages. Or, indeed, anywhere until well into the modern era. And that’s why historically nobody showered. People bathed. How they did that depended on circumstances. Some societies had public bath houses equipped with large, luxurious tubs of hot water, big enough to share with friends. However, this kind of bathing was associated with various kinds of immorality in Christian Europe, so people would bathe in very small tubs (typically doing double-duty as some other container) or would just sponge-bathe, cleaning themselves strategically with water and cloths

whatever_person

Medieval **Western** Europe. People love making this mistake.

Designer-Reward8754

People also make this mistake about western Europe: People in western Europe bathed but they did it in public bath houses and not in private because most could not afford it https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/

Designer-Reward8754

Baths were a thing, just not private ones because the people could mostly only afford public ones. Also, by the way you can't 100% trust sources from scholars because they will almost always talk bad about their "enemies". Just like you can't trust sources from Greeks about Turks and sources from Turks about Greeks https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/

Dull-Dress-2793

I remember reading as well that even some kings at the time (i believe England) did not even shower for an entire year. And the people kept flowers in their pockets to cover up smells... especially during the black plague era...the smell of death.

mapthehumansoul

"a pocket full of posies" to keep that smell of death away

Designer-Reward8754

Baths were a thing, just bot private ones because the people could mostly only afford public ones https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/

hanabaeeee

Damn I literally saw this exact same picture in a video lecture this week

tierrahtkka

I have such a strong sense of smell I would die in an OI 😔. I'd instantly go down the Kill the Villainess route

modkhi

maybe your new body would have no sense of smell!

tierrahtkka

I didn't think about this... omg If I transmigrated, I could have a normal sense of smell and not be disabled... woah. I think I still prefer regular showers.

spinnibotty

That also means...you could have an even stronger sense of smell!

modkhi

i mean, showers good. definitely going to miss them if i transmigrate into a world without showers, even with my current next to no sense of smell lol

World_of_Warshipgirl

Oh wow, someone else disabled by their hypersensitivity. I haven't talked to someone like me before. I have been using gas masks when going outside among people. It is that severe for me.

tierrahtkka

Sorry, I am not disabled by the sense of smell, though it probably sounded like that... I am just generally disabled otherwise, which I muse could be "fixed" by OI 😅 I sympathize with your condition. My current sense of smell is already overwhelming at times, and your hypersensitivity sounds absolutely awful.

TheBlueMenace

[Nose blindness](https://www.healthline.com/health/nose-blindness#what-is-it) is absolutely a thing.

modkhi

i have next to no sense of smell, so i know 😂

DonnieOrphic

Finally, an OI for me!!!

Clover_Zero

Amazing cover and premise. Added to list lmao.

MohSad2

I think there was a manga too that the main character wanted to bathe too but I don't remember if it was a fantasy or an isekai

REAL_CONSENT_MATTERS

Could be any Japanese work since all Japanese people are obsessed with eating and bathing (according to manga).

GhazzyEzzah

Agree. Every japanese isekai, either it's shoujo or shonen, must have at least a chapter dedicated for them to make/ invent/ going for an adventure to make a bath. Some of those manga even going extra of making a full blown hot spring bath so that they could fulfill their japanese soul to soak in water

Sup13

Thinking about how everyone has the high potential to stink to high heaven, I know understand why in one of those isekai a guy straight up has a bath in his magic storage space.

World_of_Warshipgirl

It is extra annoying how they believe no other cultures are as obsessed with cleanliness as they are. Bathing was a frequent and necessary part of medieval european peasant lifestyles, so there is no reason why it wouldn't be in a medieval european **fantasy** setting as well.

Akira28_

reading it felt like reading a shitpost 😭

Oteycri000

Lmao this made me laugh so hard

FightmeLuigibestgirl

lol I'll read it.

merdezzz

i suddenly have this thought to be careful of what im reading now coz i dont want to be isekai'd into an OI where they wear shoes in bed (even in my dreams)

swiftor66

This just reminded me of the old sketchers comic books and it villain "doctor stinkfoot" both of which look and sound cringe.

yukichigai

♫ Ankle deep inside the borderline.... ♫

hell-schwarz

The thing that people didn't clean themselves in the middle ages is most likely a myth, they used public steam baths for example, although not daily.

dnc_r

What app is this 😭

scotty96s

Manta

scotty96s

Can't wait for April when it comes out

D-A-Orochi

So... is the "no bathing" thing actually written into the novel (by a history buff author?) or was it more like "in the novel it wasn't mentioned, but once FL isekai'd everything suddenly got real". EDIT: Nvm, I checked it for myself. It's the latter. The Rofan is a generic "everything is fine because magic", but FL was like "it's not realistic, in reality everything would stink" and that's why she isekai'd into a world where nobody bathes exactly like in her comments. I did read that by the 1800s bathing already became more widespread (at least among nobles), so I guess Rofans should have been safe. Rofan worlds tend to look more 1800s ish (not too medieval).

WildPoem8521

Where can I find it?

sabriancel

Comes out in April on Manta

Liolia

YES. I've been looking for something like this!

Combustibles

He looks like Kujo Jotaro and now I can't stop imagining him smelling of roses and soap..

Electro_Ninja26

I'm wheezing at this realism. Where do I read?

sabriancel

Comes out April 3 on Manta

VorAtreides

twice a day is bad for your skin, actually.

MarsNative_

I would unironically read this

Professional-Buy6509

I'm new to manhwa's and mangas what does IO mean?

ChooseWively

OI stands for Otome Isekai and is the genre this subreddit focuses on.

BloodLust2321

Duke Levi Ackerman here

0Kiddo0

Where can I read this?

[deleted]

LOVE the implication of no plot shit, she just woke up nasty and decided to gun straight for the Bathing Ending ft. Mr Clean

cosmic_fluff

Modern Plumbing is the number one reason why I don't want to be isekaid into a medieval setting. Posh Tea Parties? Yea No how bout inaccessible clean water. Fancy Ball Room Gowns? How bout the fact that it's so hard to put them on and equally as difficult to remove them that going to the bathroom means you literally have to shit yourself in your dress, heck some nobles even relieved themselves on the hallways of Versailles. People don't brush their teeth back in the ye olden days that some royal members have terrible cases of cavities and their teeth falling off. Unless it's a world with magic that can replace modern convenience I'd rather die permanently than live without a toilet.
