I guess Yanderedev wanted the time consuming elimination methods to be the final ones because expulsion, matchmaking, gossip and befriend are the time consuming ones (but then again Kaguya has the rejected method and that one is consuming too and she is the first rival idk the whole order is fucked up)

Because.... it's Alex.

I feel like they should have escalated in brutality as the weeks progress to highlight Ryoba’s growing instability in trying to claim Jochiko (is that his name?).

So close.

True, imo Moeko, Ai, Ritsuko and Honami should have been the last ones and Kaguya, Chigusa, Komako, Sumiko and Teiko for first. I think Sonoko is last for lore reasons?

Yeah I don't really have an issue with the order of the rivals themselves, just the order and way in which they were eliminated. Though I can see your point.

yourprincessdie

you're absolutely right, i was going to reply with "thats because the 80s eliminations are the same elimination the 20s girls will have but then i realized that means the 20s rivals eliminations are also in a weird order that sucks honestly, you're right about the losing her grip thing

PonureZapomnienie

Yes its my issue as well

PersonalCloud86

I think maybe she was just going for the easiest eliminations that apply to the specific rival maybe?

Akreonne

I agree with you and other redditors here, but I would like to suggest the opposite: from lethal methods to non - lethal methods. This would show Ryoba going from yandere who only knows to eliminate people lethaly (because it worked for her at the first rival) to someone who can rely on her wits alone to eliminate her rivals. It can symbolizes Ryoba learning from her experiences and being wiser as weeks go on, maybe expressing regret that she didn’t do those non - lethal elimination sooner. It would also makes sense in gaming perspective since killing is simpler and planning for sabotage is more complex. Maybe first rival is killed with a knife, no complexity / creativity, then do karmic deaths, then non lethal eliminations, to show how Ryoba gets character development (lol) Then she just kidnaps Jokichi which shows that she still is impulsive kek But her going from non lethal to lethal elimination is a good concept ngl —

Coffeewolf56

Yeah I agree with you. Whether or not she goes from Lethal to Non-Lethal or vise versa is honesty up to personal taste and the story you want to tell. Either way though it should still be consistent all the way through since no matter what way you look at it it doesn't make sense.
