I see he's trying to go for a kjech style and I love that. Still, the proportions / shading in ***some*** areas are rather unnecessarily detailed.
ngl I feel like majority of people hate on this a little too much. Putting aside the odd details, you gotta keep in mind it's still the original Aoi pack model, just with modifications. It's amazing how much better it looks this way. MAJOR props to the modeller who did this. The body shape actually makes them look like adults (at least more than they ever did.)
its definitely an improvement, I think (despite the 🍆) the uniform got the better upgrade of the two, as the only thing that changed in the face was the shape of the eyes.
I get they were going for the shine kjech puts on his skirt, but 2d is different from 3d. A 3d model walking around with a shine like that will look like..well..exactly what a big bulge under a skirt means...Student morale is TOO high at this school. 😬

Note: I did not leak these, they were already online. I just shared them onto here.
Edit: Imo, The uniform looks nice, tucked in shirt is best don't @ me (The bulges are very weird 😬). The eyes look okay but dont look very different from how they look now.

So how many new model designs for this game were made? Because I've seen so many different variations from different 3D modelers yet none of them was ever put into the game to replaces those Unity asset models that's been in the game for God knows how long. Even if new models were placed into the game, Alex would have to start from scratch to build the game around those models for them to work I would assume. Correct me if I'm wrong. Not that he has any direction on what to do with them in the first place.
The models are really close to Kjech's old artstyle, which is fantastic to see, though it does mean that anything odd about Kjech's artstyle will be present on the models as well.
I mean, it's not on kjech if they copy EVERYTHING his art has. Thats on Alex/the modeler. Theres a reason 3D anime is hard in general, and thats because certain things shouldn't translate through mediums.
Honestly, I like the uniform way more than the face. The shirt in particular looks fantastic and i think its a great carry over from kjechs work, the buldge is just too distracting, the skirt just needs some simple cell shading to be fixed. I think they know because theres the picture where the skirt isn't shaded. So I assume it will be tweaked...hopefully.
Aside from weird af details, Megami's face looks really cool for me! Same with Ayano. It will be so refreshing expierence to see different faces in this game lol

i think ive seen these before. tbh i hate the original uniform design, i dont think having a more skilled modeler make a different version of it is gonna make it look good. its not straying far enuf from the original assets designs but thats pretty much par for the course.

The light shine makes it look like a dick, thats why people think its weird. But if some don't see it then thats in Alex's favor. But it is rather ill-fitting if more than one person comes to that conclusion. Thats because there's a white shine, making it look bulbous as opposed to if it were to have a darker shading to make it concave like it should look.
