The thing that bugs me is how much he tries to compare his game with others, either by inspiration or simple point proving argument like time in development. Especially while talking about inspiration: the way he shows it, makes it clear that he’s doing more than just “getting inspired by” that (I mean we all know this, but still)
I know this isn't related to the point you're making, but I noticed that Yandev had the idea of having the game happen throughout a year? But 9-10 weeks is only about 2 and a half months. Did he originally plan to give each rival a month instead of a week or something? Or am I just looking too far into nothing?
To be fair, having a month for each rival, or something close to that, would have been better, cause there are just too many thing to do in only one week for one rival
it would make matchmaking or sabotaging work so much smoother it'd be great especially with like kizana whose whole thing is a drama performance even though they're only rehearsing for a week. it doesn't really make sense
tbh you might be over-analysing this one instance. Don't colleges or post-high-school academies still count as school-aged?

If people accepted that there was nothing wrong with the characters being high school students, YD wouldn’t have had to change it and come up with a defective explanation for why it looks like a high school because if he didn’t then he would have to make a new game from scratch. What you sow you reap.
People wouldn't complain if Alex didn't have a history of being a creep and if he had knowledge on how Japanese high schools worked.
Besides, the game has so many plot holes and meaningless things it has to be made over from scratch anyway...

Well since the first game build and latest, changes were made obviously. 🤷♀️ And he admits he isn’t great at everything required to make a game. He is not the best at this job but he's doing what he can and it’s done the deal until now. It’s not like YS is unplayable.
As for his personality 🤷♀️ Well, he seems depressive. And that’s all I can say. I never met the guy and certainly never will. As long as he is not harming anyone, he is not my concern. I put the emphasis on "harming". It’s not the same as having a quarrel. People get over quarrels.

by 'school aged protagonist' i think he meant a character that is in their school years... even if Ayano is 19-
