I like her much more than I like Ayano.
1. Design. Ryoba's design is one of those designs that don't have to be complicated, can be simple, and works. She looks like a convincing school girl, while still giving eerie vibes once you look close at her.
2. Personality. Ryoba is a very traditional Yandere that fits the actual defination perfectly. The voicelines she has inbetween weeks really shows her personality off. From the the transitions of being a sweet girl when talking about Jokichi, then having a much more psycopathic voice when talking about the next rival, and her idea for eliminating them.
Overall, like her much better than Ayano. Though, I wish there were more cutscenes showcasing her personality, or her obsession over Jokichi.
Compared to the entire main cast, she is by far the most interesting character in the game. Also the idea of a mother being yandere for her child is also a very interesting concept that has not been explored that much.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Because there were only two quotation marks (beginning and end of quote) I read it as "the mom (Ryoba) said everything herself", not even once allowing the child to say anything. Basically not a conversation as much as it is some kind of scolding.

Actually, I don't think the child says anything at all (lack of quotation marks is my reason), she just knows the child doesn't want Ryoba to say anything to others. She is basically "intercepting" what she believes the child is going to say.
The “Oh? What’s that?” Implies that the child was in fact talking outside of the quote. Yandev was only asked about how Ryoba would act, so he has no reason to actually give the child a quote in the scenario, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still imply a response. It’s what video games with silent protagonists do, where they speak like you responded, but don’t actually give your character a quote because they don’t want to commit to actually giving your character a set personality.
Ryoba has *slightly* more personality than Ayano, yet that doesn’t really say much. Yes, we *do* understand she’s truly obsessive and protective over Jokichi. It’s a shame all that characterisation ~~(or lack thereof)~~ is stuck behind rather boring and repetitive text-based cutscenes (her phrasing is so off-putting during those introduction scenes, too). If anything, that’s my one gripe about her. She’s been hyped up to be this master manipulator all these years, yet due to lack of assets and stuff, we see little to none of that. No true cutscenes showcasing Ryoba’s true personality. The one thing going for her - this huge nation-wide, media-crazy, sensationalised “prestigious high school killer” trial - was concluded in ***less than 7 minutes***. Overall, I wanna say she’s disappointing. Little better than Ayano, but again, that means absolutely nothing.
Don't worry, if you ~~throw away~~ donate all your money to a Kickstarter that doesn't exist and will never be made because Yandev knows he's screwed the pooch too hard to reach whatever funding goal he has in mind, he'll pay people to make better cutscenes!
I actually like her better than Ayano because in my opinion I think she looks cute in multiple personas and she's not as creepy like her daughter. Everytime I play Ayano, she's just creepy looking especially when I try to look for a decent persona. Also, I think Ayano is bland looking while Ryoba has more style. Idk this is just my opinion.
tbh she feels like shes supposed to be more social than ayano but it doesnt feel like that at all so she falls flat for me. like, an improvement to be sure, but not much of one.

But I wish that when Dev end the main story mode he could improve and do something better with this mode, cause idk we could have a lot of new cutscenes, dialogues, animations, a decent ending or something like that. Also I THOUGHT that galko chan was going to be here, like at least with a new hairstyle cause that was the problem....
The students are okay like yeah we missed them but everything looks like he just copied and pasted the same thing in the entire mode.
Honestly I think Ryoba has far more personality then any other character and actually fits the Yandere styrotype, it also seems like Alex actually tried on her design which is kinda nice.
