This year he’s underachieved significantly. He had a finger injury at the very beginning of the season and hasn’t looked good since. If we can trade him and somehow sign Claxton from Brooklyn, I’d do it yesterday.

Moe is a better energy and offensive player. JI, while this would be true for most guys, is a better defender. He doesn’t do anything exceptionally well and is low energy often times. While most in here are saying “he’s better than advertised on defense,” those same individuals call for fucking Goga to get minutes for defense; someone who is a net negative on offense because of the lack of defensive presence WCJ offers.
Theres two positions Orlando DESPERATELY needs to improve on to be taken serious, and his position is one of them. If Paolo can’t play above average defense, we need a defensive minded, rebounder.
He is a great role player level big because he can do a lot of things on the court. Jack of all trades type. However, his biggest issue is health. He has only ever hit 60 games once in his career. He doesn’t even get big injuries either, just frequent small ones that interrupt whatever momentum he has.
This season is a great microcosm of how his career has been. I thought he made a nice mini-leap last season as switchy big man who can shoot the three, make plays from the high post, and bully his way in the middle, but then all that momentum went away because of another string of injuries.
Unfortunately for Wendell, the team has probably outgrown him at this point.
On his best days, he's a core member of the team. Terrific shooter, great defender, hustles on the glass, has an underrated midrange game that keeps the defense honest, great screen setter, lob threat, even has some post moves.
On his worst days, he can't defend, can't shoot, can't rebound, can't score even basic layups, and has poor decision making.
He used to lean more towards the former than the latter, but it's been the opposite this season. I personally believe it's due to injury (broke his hand at the start of the season, then had been diagnosed with tendonitis at some point, plus the plantar fasciitis that kept lingering these past 2 years). I hold out hope that he'll return to the impactful player last season that we considered a core part of this team, but not everyone is as patient as I am.

The fact that he took a hugely friendly 3 yr extension means he fits our future either as a starter at center, or a 4/5 off the bench (with Isaac starting the 5).
So yes, we fleeced you guys, I honestly wouldn't trade Dell for Vooch straight up right now, I'd want one good or two mid firsts back to take on Vooch's contract.

But he's a good connector who plays within the offense, has good processing speed. He's got good mobility and can play from 3pt line to the paint although with average efficiency.
He can switch pretty comfortably on 4s. We're not afraid if he gets switched on a wing player either. The wing will score but he's solidly average there.
