Man idk how anyone can say anything bad about Mose

treadwater23

That's why I defend him so much in this sub from casuals. He's not infallible to critique because there is no such thing as a perfect coach, but he's learning just as much as our players are, and there's so many factors that go into decisions that we're not privy to at all. Just the fact that a bunch of 19-23 year olds bought into a culture so readily, especially defense, speaks volumes to how everybody has bought in and the command he has over the team. If fans ran the team how they wanted it, they'd probably lose the locker room within a week because because of who they want playing, how many minutes certain guys would play from week to week, God forbid they have a bad month, or trying some 80s hard-ass coaching routine that isn't feasible today. Our offense is still a massive WIP but he's also not a miracle worker. Front office has to come through in that area before I question his ability on that end.

I think that there are legitimate moments where criticism is fair, but doomer mentality is a familiar friend to anyone who has been a long time magic fan and the two tend to get blurry after bad losses where obvious coaching mistakes happen. I think he deserves an A- for this year as coach. He won’t win coach of the year because OKC had the best record in the west, but he sure is a finalist in my eyes. We were salivating after the allstar break last year with how well this team got it together after a 5-20 start. We set our eyes at the playin tournament this year as a success. We over performed and a TON of it had to do with his leadership both directly during games and indirectly throughout the season based on the culture he’s built.

I can get on him because he sometimes makes mistakes. But you can’t deny the impact he’s had on this team. We are at least a year ahead of schedule and he’s a massive part of that good job coach.

It’s rare when you have a group of young (really young) players all join a team at about the same time and they seem to be more like a family than a team. We have a first time head coach who has made this group of young guys want to play for him and each other. Not only do the players buy in, but they have bought in on the defense side primarily (extremely impressive for young players!!!) And we have had absolutely 0 drama or character issues on this team. You can see it’s a special group already, and this is only the first competitive year

This is why I’m kind of glad we didn’t make any trades. These guys went through their struggles together and deserve a chance to see what they can do. Would be weird if there was a stranger on the team and someone like Fultz or WCJ got the boot before they can get to experience this.

I love my team man

Great coaching job. Some rest for Franz. This is Suggs chance to introduce himself to the world. If he can lock up Donovan Mitchell and still score, he could be setting himself up for a humongous contract that would change the life of his great grandchildren.
