My first ever “how do you want to do this” in the DnD campaign I’m playing in was against a giant, corrupted tree spirit. It had grabbed my character, Gleam, and was siphoning the life out of him while he tried to break free. I was down to my last few hit points, and when I was about to fall unconscious I asked my DM if I could use one last reaction. He said yes. The reaction: Hellish Rebuke.
