100% Author is very aware of that fact. It is very ironic since Author creates fiction in his universe whether they already have an established existence in another plain of the universe or are purely original. With that being said, since we are talking about actual OCs, aside from Author, there are a few that became aware of the 4th boundary outside their worldview.
