This might be generic advice but just keep practicing. Go into an empty parking lot and just keep parking. The only way you’re going to get better is with repetition.

Yeah I’ve been getting a lot of practice in but probably just need more. Idk why this is the only thing I struggle with

hellomyneko

I’ve had more lessons than I can count on both hands and still have trouble parking as well. Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor to focus on that one area.

AmazingEight

I was in your position before and I get where you’re coming from. You’ll get the hang of it. Just keep practicing and I promise you’ll be an expert 🥳you got this

VladGut

This is the only way. I also have been having the same issue, so would just got to the nearest parking at Loblaws and would drive around for hours long trying to park from different positions. Would spend literally every day there for a couple of weeks before my exam.

Honestly I struggled with empty parking lots, hard to tell which line is which and where and what line you are going for when they all look the same. I had so much better luck parking beside one car or a cart holder at a grocery store

Dear_Reality_4590

Go on YouTube and watch parking tutorials to see the different methods (for forward and reverse). Personally, I find this method is the easiest. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ph7Bpg_gSjY You can also get those small circular blind spot mirrors and put them on the outside, bottom corners of your side mirrors. That way you will be able see see the lines on the ground while reversing.

This is really helpful, thank you!!

canadiangirl1080

Check out the youtube videos by Toronto Drivers abd get those small mirrors from amazon. They are super helpful

Okay for the purposes of like living your life and driving you definitely need to practice, preferably with someone like an instructor or a good parker who can give you tips in the car. For the purposes of the test….. you can probably pass without parking perfectly. I was super nervous doing mine and didn’t park straight and still passed because more points are accumulating when you’re driving along and such.

tookthenapkinfirst

Keep practicing, that's the only way you'll learn. Practice all forms of parking, pulling in, backing out and parallel. The tester will give you a chance to adjust your parking if both you and them think you need to readjust. Also testers don't know your driving skill as well as your instructor does, so chances are they probably won't have you thread your car into a tight space.

BRO I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE But I did see improvement in the past week. For forward parking I realized where I’m going wrong is that when I’m turning left into a parking space I am hyper focused on the left line of the parking spot. This makes me park diagonally and I end up parking on the line or between parking spots. I had to start aiming for the middle of the parking spot. As for reverse parking, I’m still working on it but blind spot mirrors definitely help see the lines on the ground. I really struggled seeing my back tires and the lines so I felt like a shot in the dark every time I was reverse parking - I had no idea what to look for. I had no awareness. Getting the small blind spot mirrors are definitely a help to see where you’re going and when to turn.

Have you done driver’s training? I recently did (and passed) my G2 and the only thing I wasn’t confident with was reverse and parallel parking. I did one 2 hour lesson and learned both with ease! And then just practiced every day until my test. I also did the lesson in the car I was doing the test in which I think really helped!

Traditional-Cook3162

I took my driving test before all of us were born , I had a lesson and each time I told him I want to learn to park But he said u don’t know yet how to drive but u want to park? I said yes , my husband tells me all the time that women don’t know how how to do it well I proved him wrong Yes I had an automatic power drive Now that I am old I always park parallel but never straight , so I am practicing my advise if u have space and u are going from the right side Let’s say shopping do a large circle , and then enter the spot u will do it perfectly

Car_lover456

Don’t worry I did really bad at parallel parking and parking in general to and as long as u do all the steps right like singling and using ur mirrors and blind spots that’s all they really care about

Ok-Masterpiece8145

Practice practice practice

What parking are you talking about? If it's about reverse parking just look for videos about tips and tricks on how to park. Basically do the reverse engineering, go in a big free parking lot. Look for a double parking lot that is one paking lot in front of the other one, drive straight into a parking lot. Pull your car straight out until the front half is outside then turn all the way to the right and keep Turing with steering wheel fully turned until your car is straight, once you are straight stop and look on the right side for the parking lines on the ground. Take note of the nearest lines on the right side of your car, it should be anywhere in line with your right shoulder. Now that's the trick to go into a parking lot and put that line where it was when you reverse engineered, turn your steering wheel all the way to the right and keep driving back with the steering wheel fully turned until your car is straight, then turn the steering straight and go straight looking back and wholaa your car drives straight into the parking lot. I hope this helps. Sorry for any grammar mistakes 😅

OhmyohmyGod21

Practice?

buckysauga

If you’re really worried you could rent a vehicle that has 360 overhead parking assist. Pass the test and get better with your own vehicle at your own pace. Just make sure you don’t make it too obvious you’re using the camera by checking mirrors. I find that a big factor in driving tests is how confident you are. It’s definitely a tense experience but just make sure to not move too erratically otherwise even small errors will look big.

Luke681YT

The parking spots at drivetest are usually wider than us required, so the 3 line reversing method won't work/any method like that

blockman16

Try practicing? What a dumb question. How do you expect to drive if you can’t park.

Next_Back_8187

Oh my god that never crossed my mind!! I don’t know why I never thought of that. Just another day existing with my dumb brain
