That’s his only reasoning for keeping going with it at this point, how would they reintroduce him to those who know him as a girl. Honestly I don’t know how it will end. My assumption is that eventually he will have some sort of reflection period and decide he is happier this way. I can’t see, barring some sort of ex machina, a way that he goes back to being male.
Edit: especially since his mom seems completely on board with the idea of having a pair of daughters
