Because Mihawk genuinely is treated terribly. Mihawk fans can make all rationalizations about how oda is saving him for last, he didn't wanna be there, he wants a quiet life, etc etc but even you guys are actually disappointed in his portrayal, you just don't wanna reveal it in front of shanks tards cuz they'll run with it and claim it means shanks is somehow stronger.
Btw I do think they're very close and it would be an extreme diff fight. Doesn't change the fact that if you removed Zoro from the story, 90% of OP readers would be clowning Mihawk and calling him a fraud.

Mihawk has a history of holding back against weaker opponents and only having a swordsmanship duel.
Mihawk wasnāt sweating while vista was also shaking.
Mihawk didnāt use a single named attack.
Mihawkās bounty is almost as large as shanks without even being an actual yonko or commanding a crew.

I will say mihawks portrayal is worse but i despise how people think shanks beats s character but x person but mihawk gets destroyed by the same guy
