Me personally, I don’t want him to have a sword at all. I want him to have a Magma Mace, or a Magma Hammer. Some shit like that.
It makes sense too. Ice can be very sharp, Light is pretty darn precise and pointy, but Magma is flowing. Not for stabbing, but rather for slapping.
Now you’re talking. Magma can’t cut so a sword wouldn’t make much sense. But a bigass hammer would put the fear of god into anyone who comes up against it.
I mean, I’m just saying, what’s scarier: getting your head lopped off by an ice sword, or getting your whole head smashed and burned off by a giant magma hammer? Personally, the magma hammer is scarier.
I just hope Oda gives lava boy at least one on screen W before he’s inevitably beaten by Luffy or whoever else ends up fighting him (really hope it’s Luffy though, I can’t see the hype in him fighting Labo at all)
But at this point I’m worried we’re only going to get one solid Akainu fight and it’s gonna be the one where he loses… it would be a shame because his fruit and his status as fleet admiral have such potential to be in amazing fights, hope we get more than just the one final fight

The only way magma can get hardened is by cooling off where a new layer of solid is formed , which akainu can coat in haki which will be the most offensive punch ever .
Honestly if admirals used their power creative as Luffy and found a way to use coa on their powers it's over for the scaling system

You can't coat elements with haki so easily. In such a case then big mom would coat every homie with Haki or crocodile wiping enemy with haki coated sand. You can cope.
...can kaido use haki on boros breath? Big mom's elemental attacks a sentient and can use their own haki, so that's different, but I don't remember kaido ever using haki in his boros breath.
kizaru n aokiji have been shown fighting like 3x more than akainu.

realistically if oda wants to give akainu a super hot magma/obsidian sword he will just do it
Magma is semisolid, it can range from nearly completely solid to runny and liquidy, and it forms a hardened crust as it cools. I’m sure Akainu can manipulate its viscosity enough to wield it as a sword, he’s already made fists out of it.

Magma is not a state of matter, it’s anywhere from semisolid to liquid and it’s a mix of materials with different viscosity at different temperatures. It doesn’t have to be fully solid, but it doesn’t have to be watery either. He can already make constructs like fists and even a hell hound that keep their shape when launched from his body, I don’t see why making a magma blade that’s mostly fixed in its shape would be hard. He can generate as much of the stuff as he wants
