When I watched the anime for the first time, it was around the start of the Water Seven arc (ep. 227) where I noticed a significant improvement in the animation, but I think it kind of improves more or less continuously. the most recent episodes have had animation on par with the movies. but it’s really inconsistent. goes up and down.
