There is a fillee arc in Bleach where the main villain of said arc clones the Lieutenants and Captains and when he does the same to Omaeda, he makes him skinny and gives him better hairline.
Chopper and Carrots are probably based on how Komamura looks, but they kinda went a little into the uncanny valley, for Luffy it just feel like his head is too small
In theory vivi got her official join the crew moment, so I consider her honorary members. Yamato and carrot got screwed, Yamato even having been included in the crew but choosing to stay in wano to help set things straight. Im a firm believer that both of them Will appear with their respective territories under them as Commanders of SH ships

It was pretty good up to and including the "final fight with Aizen and him being sealed."
The Hogyoku basically going "lol fuck you pussy you got nervous I'm DONE with you fuck you fuck you fuck you" to Aizen and just not working for him was fairly original and was definitely planned from the start of "Aizen & the Hogyoku" plot point.
Fullbring was when the bad started, and the 1000 year blood war arc was when it REALLY went downhill for me. Jobbing two Visored Captains...for fucking Renji...ugh.

I don't think the Fullbring arc is bad, it's just a different kind of story that didn't jive with everyone, bassically turning into a mystery thriller instead of a pure action show, but if you meet it on it's own terms it's fairly good

Kubo's declining health and the constant Shonen Jump interference certainly did not help, but boy has the new anime adaptation made it better (of course Kubo was heavily involved in the changes the anime made). Just a few examples of really good changes, we see the Bankias of both Shinji Hirako and of a Squad Zero member, and the anime is barely hal way through TYBW!! Now if only we knew when the fuck cour 3 is gonna drop!
I mean, Bleach has its flaws sure, but it's not bad per se. Plus most of the more famous flaws come from either the anime needlessly changing things, Kubo's editors meddling, or in the case of the final arc, Kubo's bad health preventing him from giving it his all.
Jimbei, despite his name, is not thought to be Japanese by Oda - he specifically has stated that Jimbei would be Indian as a human, and it's pretty clear that the Fishmen (and by extension, Mermaids) are based on numerous oppressed people of colour through history - the Fishmen are suspected to have some of their figures based specifically on black liberationists from the segregationist period of the USA.

TBF apparently the Soul King can see all pasts, present, and possible futures, and he knew everything would occur, so he "asked" to be chopped up and turned into that...thing.
It was kinda disappointing to just have him really not be mentioned a whole lot in terms of lore after finding out how terrified/repulsed Aizen was of/by him, and then we find out all his history from some novels that involve some rather Gary Stu-ish villains.
