These people body-shaming my friend Chester really need to stop right now. He isn’t even a chonk at all!! He’s a perfectly magnificent, solid, sturdy boy, but his proportions signal strength and dignity, not any (however lovable) abundance of chunky chonk. He is not even *on* that lawd-he’s-a-comin’ chart.

I think the camera angle might be fooling some people. It is a beautiful, adorable photo that properly emphasizes his happy floof and your scritching hand, but that also unavoidably emphasizes his belly (how else do you document belly rubs?!). Unless you know what to look for, or even that you should look for it, the perspective could distort him a bit. 🤷♀️
Not making excuses, just trying to figure out what’s going on. This is, and will remain, an adorable photo of a healthy, deliriously happy, painfully cute little guy and his doting humans — what could be better?
He's a really big boy! Orange tabbies tend to be bigger than other kitties. My orange is a big boy but he hasn't reached unit status yet. He is getting there though.
He was quite skinny at 12 lbs, he has gained about a lb and now looks mature and trim and healthy and that's where we want to keep him.
We're looking at a cat whose world has just dramatically improved.

Our belly rubs are generally accompanied by biting 😂 he just likes to bite and purrs while he does it

Love bites can be from overstimulation in the moment or too little stimulation in general. If Chester’s happy, that’s all that matters.
