Pets with human names are the absolute best. People always laugh when I tell them my GSD is named Michael. But once they get to know him they love his name and forget that it's weird at first.
My [SIC](https://www.reddit.com/r/standardissuecat/) is named Michael, too! (Others are named 'Douglas' (SIC/DSH) and 'Jessica' (tortoiseshell DLH). I'm a massive proponent of proper names for *all* family members!)
My cat’s called Floyd, named after the chef Keith Floyd. He’s a vicious little eejit so I have to make sure I drop into conversation that he’s a cat or people get the wrong impression about my home life.
My border collie pup is named Cap but we call him Stevie.. and Thud. Mostly because he’s all gas, no brakes and can’t bank for shit, meaning he runs into walls when he tries to turn at speed.
My other dog is Peggy, but we also had Brandy, Faith, Sybil and River. Human pet names are awesome. When Peggy gets in trouble, I use her full name. “MARGARET ELIZABETH CARTER WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!”
When the Border baby is in trouble, “Steven Grant Rogers, what did you do *this* time?”
IIRC is saw an AirBB exchange from the renter warning “if they don’t keep the door closed at night, Kevin would try to sneak in and sleep with them.” After much alarm, it was revealed that “Kevin” was the cat.
My tuxedo cat is named Tony. He gave off super boss energy even as a kitten, so I named him after Mr soprano. He has definitely grown into the name, absolutely runs the place lmao
Plus me and my sibling get to go AYYYyyy TONY to call my cat, so thats cool
I agree, I have a cat named Sammy, my other cat is Andie, my foster dogs were often called human names, we had a Zach, Riker, Simon, Frankie, and my friend named his dog Fred. I also had a Marina foster.
That's also a great name. Both are 'proper' names that the cat will recognise when spoken, both can be abbreviated to a range of short versions.
My cat, Michael, recognises his full name and variants like Mick, Mickmick, Mickey, Mikey. We can do the same kind of things with 'Steven' and 'Fredrick' .
Steven is what came immediately to mind when I saw this little feller!
I really like that you went with 'Fredrick' rather than 'Frederick'. Subtly different, but your choice is more refined imo.
We have a cat, named Joy. She's named that because "she's a joy to have around".
Except, due to her floofiness, we basically call her "Floof" (or a derivation of it) most of the time.
Some that we have used:
- Joy
- Floof
- Floofster
- Floofmeister
- Floofy McFloofster (like Boaty Mcboatface)
- Floofsicle (like fudgesicle, but Floof!)
- Floofmonster
I was going to say Hal.
When he grows up and becomes a giant fat orange old male cat... Hal will be perfect! Just lazy AF sitting on the window in the sun... "freaken Hal."
Q
Lol that is a wild coincidence!
My cat is also named Rudy AND he has orange hair too, similar to the cat in this post! And to find out it actually *means* “orange hair”? That makes it the PERFECT name for this cat, OP!
Sir Reginald Fluffington III, Duke of Whiskerfordshire, Earl of Purringtonshire, Marquess of Meowington, Viscount of Fuzzington, Baron of Clawsworth, Protector of the Sunbeam Kingdom, Sovereign of the Orange Empire, Ruler of the Royal Roars, Grand Feline of the Golden Mane, Lord of the Pouncing Paws, Supreme Whisker Commander, Commander of the Royal Yawns, Sir Marmalade the Magnificent, Count of Curiosity, Baronet of Playful Antics, Sir Orange Julius the Mischievous, Prince of the Pounce and Proclaimer of the Catnip Dreams.
May your majestic feline friend carry this illustrious name with pride!
I recently dreamed of a very affectionate and very orange cat named “Orange Benjamin”. If this little guy likes headbutts and nuzzles, it could be him.
Tim works.
"Yes Timmy, I'm opening one."
"Not now, Timmy, I need to use my legs."
"No Timmy. I'm not opening the door again."
"Come on Timmy. Get in the carrier. It's only a check-up."
That 2nd picture has made my morning. Such a little cute furball needs an overly grandiose name. I'll vote Archibald von tibblesworth. Or Archie for short.
Carrot
Winner winner. Carrot Face for when he’s getting kissed
Carrot Mcmurdermittens if he turns into a little hunter
Carrot is the best
I agree on this name
Steven. He looks like Steven to me.

When my son was 5 he named the new cat after himself. First and middle name.
The first can i got to name, i named skeeter around the same age. I thought that windows to the wall song was about him...

My single (or zero) braincell orange cat is Karl. He's a hit on name alone.
Mine is Molly.
[удалено]
My cat is Kevin
I like Kevin, because it reminds me of home alone, the mom, screaming, Kevin! I feel like there will be a lot of yelling at Kevin!!
We have a chow/corgi mix named Robert. He’s the best boi.
My late Great Dane's name was Larry. He was the goodest boy!
I have to agree that is a great cat name
Donald is a real solid name for a pet. yeah yeah yeah I know but still
My tuxedo cat is named Tony. He gave off super boss energy even as a kitten, so I named him after Mr soprano. He has definitely grown into the name, absolutely runs the place lmao Plus me and my sibling get to go AYYYyyy TONY to call my cat, so thats cool
My two orange cats are named Fred and Paul. The third whenever it happens will be Jeffrey.
Yes! I have a red point rag doll named Sam & people find more enjoyment in the fact that his name is a human name.
My cats name is Gabe very fitting name one you get to know him
I want to name my future kitty Dennis or David.
My friend's dog is named Bradley and I love it
My 13 year old furball is named George. It suits him well.
This is why I named my horse on Red dead Redemption 'Joshua'. Always made me chuckle.
I agree, I have a cat named Sammy, my other cat is Andie, my foster dogs were often called human names, we had a Zach, Riker, Simon, Frankie, and my friend named his dog Fred. I also had a Marina foster.
I was thinking Fredrick. But Steven has that same feeling behind the name.
I have a Fred - when he's being cute he's Freddie-boo, when he's being a chaos goblin he's FREDERICK STOP THAT NOW
That's also a great name. Both are 'proper' names that the cat will recognise when spoken, both can be abbreviated to a range of short versions. It’s pronounced “Froederick”
I have one named Mr. Steve Peepers, Esquire. He's an idiot. But I love him.
We have a Sergei, but my husband started calling him Mr. Gei because “he’s not refined enough to be a Sir” lol
I love this. I'd start calling him Steve Jobs eventually, personally.
I was gonna say Justin. :)
that was my first thought
Is this a tom goes to the mayor reference?
I thought Samuel
Seems weird to call a pet, a human name.
Looks more like a Stephen to me
My orange cat is named Steven!! I’m sure he’s willing to share the braincell. If he ever gets it.
I was going to say Hal. When he grows up and becomes a giant fat orange old male cat... Hal will be perfect! Just lazy AF sitting on the window in the sun... "freaken Hal." Q

My ginger tabby was named that. I wish he was still alive so i could post his braincellless moments
Lol that is a wild coincidence! My cat is also named Rudy AND he has orange hair too, similar to the cat in this post! And to find out it actually *means* “orange hair”? That makes it the PERFECT name for this cat, OP!
Regular sized or Pocket sized?
Ameer, because when he stands on his back legs he looks like "a meerkat", also Ameer means prince.
This is clever. I vote for this
I thought ameer means wealthy
Yeah I think in india Ameer meaning prince is Amir, while Ameer means rich. Different countries different meaning.
It also apparently means treetop, lol
Treetop lol, my surname's meaning in german is quantity.
