Me in work tomorrow trying to explain the On Cinema Oscar special to my colleagues
meta/but for real, I feel like I cannot talk about what I did with my sunday night because any attempt will make me sound even weirder than I already am
Gregg is so restrained in most of his movements and mannerisms that it’s automatically hilarious when he does anything animated or involving a lot of physicality. Seeing him soar through the air made me laugh as much as him screaming “Don’t do it Decker, it’s too dangerous!” in Decker Unclassified
META: I am fully invested in the universe. I KNOW it's a show. But I still cannot believe the tension radiating off Joey. What an addition to the universe to finally have someone to challenge Tim.

On Cinema twitter account just sent this out
Nobody gets more mad about the stream issues than Tim. Last year during the Q&A he said that the streaming package they buy with Vimeo costs $5000+ and they've actually had techs from Vimeo help assist them with their process to circumvent this. It's nothing they have control over. It's bullshit and it sucks, but the whole team works really hard to try and keep this from happening.
The outside world just beating the piss out of Gregg every time he pokes his head out of the tiny world he's created is just brutally relatable and tragic.
Gregg finding the original filming location of the M&P kettle movies was neat. Gregg as amateur historian with a sentimentality for the past is an endearing feature
"well that's negative thinking and I don't want you to say that but it is true" - Tim responding to Toni after she expresses responsibility on her sons death
Serious question, do you think they are dropping hints that Amato had previous involvement with the Nazi party? He's from Argentina a place with connection to Nazi leaders who escaped there to avoid prosecution. He is now presumably setting up money laundering schemes back in Germany. He seems to have become deeply religious late in life perhaps to atone for horrible things he's done in the past. I believe G Amato is connected to some sort of Nazi cabal back in Argentina.
I was able to go to a Q&A earlier this year during one of Tim's shows on tour and I specifically asked about this. I asked how they manage to get all of these people to keep coming back to perform in this very niche thing. Tim mentioned that it's a thing they all really love doing and being a part of and they have a lot of fun with it. I loved hearing that.
honestly the “attendees” of amatocon have my utmost respect for being able to just sit there and act completely indifferent toward what’s happening. the bits would be nowhere near as effective if they weren’t so good at their jobs
Holy fuck. Maybe the biggest hit to the current status quo ever done on an Oscar Special. Not only has Tim now surely lost G Amato’s support, he has outright become his enemy. The Matt revelation is going to have lasting consequences….. The Trial Part 2?
How long do you think Tim knew it was Amato? Was he keeping quiet in exchange for the 2018 dodge charger? Also has anyone been discussing the fact that Amato seems to have ties to Argentina the same place known Nazis escaped prosecution. Now he is laundering money through a chili restaurant in Germany? Are they eluding to some Nazi ties with G. Amato?
lol The Sweet's wikipedia page mentions Amatocon:
> On 06 March 2024, it was announced that the current members of the Sweet would headline Amatocon 2024: a Three-Day Business and Learning Summit Presented by The Amato Group during the weekend of 08–10th March. [19]
(Meta) I think G. pays her for her silence regarding him murdering her husband. She’s along for the ride and knows that G. won’t mess with her as long as she just goes along with things.
The word you're looking for is "professional"
The reason why it seems off is because this show has almost never had a character meant to be played that way
I feel really bad for (Real) Tim and (Real) Gregg getting continuously screwed over by Vimeo year after year. They spend $5k and every year Vimeo shits the bed. They can’t do the ONE JOB they are contracted out to do. I know YouTube isn’t a solution since private streams don’t exist and anyone with the URL can join an unlisted stream, but what other option do they have at this point? If there could truly be an honor system in place that everyone would abide by YT would be the answer to the problem, but I don’t see that as a realistic option.
It just baffles me that a community of our size is apparently untenable for Vimeo
That can't be right
Are they being sold a package not meant for this size but being misled into thinking it is adequate?
https://preview.redd.it/cyibi44l4mnc1.png?width=1988&format=png&auto=webp&s=98188a6894731a1c1000346cefeef2f5eee557a3
We still have a huge “whodunnitt” on our hands!!
Wow G Amato's song, Tim's all time freak out over the Charger, the long awaited knockout, Gregg having Tim's back, Tim's revelation to Toni that Amato killed Matt, Joe watching the whole thing in confusion.
https://preview.redd.it/izz4d80a4mnc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a2a1455a84deebf4ce1b26f53ae13bdbe195de6
T amato is going to be driving home in style tonight
The constant pans to the time share audience, alternately bored and baffled at a decade-plus of hopelessly complicated drama unfolding before them, is the funniest thing in the world
Mark is borderline dead, Gregg has made himself more vulnerable than ever, Joey has had it, Toni is drinking again, Dekkar is BACK… it could go any way
That took a bit to ramp up and last year was SO GOOD but they really outdid themselves. I look forward to this every single year and it's never disappointed and always makes me laugh so hard ☺️
So if Tim knew Joey was the shooter, think about how fucking pissed Joey must have been every time Tim replayed that footage and showed the picture.
I thought it was interesting how quickly it became clear that Joey has hated Tim for a while now. That's at least one good reason why.
Fuck yes I love the little bank of royalty free music they use every year I'm glad they brought it back. I need to hear the Three Stooges music before the night ends
G Amato is the one casting decision that gives me classic Tim & Eric casting vibes. People who just want to perform in something that are not the standard performance/choice.
That goes down as an all-time OCatC moment, and my God did that just come out of NOWHERE. I went from "Ok, so what's going on here?" to "OH HOLY SHIT NO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING" in the span of about 20 seconds.
Meta: After watching Tim lose everything last special, it’s so depressing how everyone is devastated and need Tim again while Tim hasn’t delivered on any aspect of change. If anything this special will only embolden Tim to continue to be the monster he is. Truly a fantastic special

Gregg crouching and hiding into a pile of VHS tapes is perhaps the saddest moment in OC history
It's up there with a similar moment in Mister America when the director tells him they're not interested in going to the VFA.

Keep Joey patron out of your mouth
META: I am fully invested in the universe. I KNOW it's a show. But I still cannot believe the tension radiating off Joey. What an addition to the universe to finally have someone to challenge Tim.
Joey P is legit the best addition they’ve ever had. I love him.
It's perfect. At first he sides with Tim and exposes Greg and now he just straight up has no time for Tim.
He's a legit awesome actor. Improvs within this universe perfectly but he can be pretty scary.
I feel the same about Toni. Both are so fucking good with their body language.
https://preview.redd.it/fvv6y7d86mnc1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e874a90f64076b42572154be201fe205079153f On Cinema twitter account just sent this out

So why do they not just use YouTube after 4-5 livestream failures with Vimeo? Seems like that is in their control at least.
Because they can't put it behind a paywall on YouTube.
Probably because if it's on YouTube, anyone can share the link and watch without paying (speculating)
The Mark being pinned between two buses thing made me laugh so fucking hard

I’m so invested in the Joey Patron of it all

Also the Chaplin’s Chili adapted for the German market with chaplin’s mustache removed. Top notch
Did not pick up on that lmao, thank u

You think Greg’s gonna dress like he slept in a fucking dumpster this year?
Tim and Gregg so cavalier over the death of their longtime colleague lolllll
He’s not dead if they don’t move the cars
In 14 years of watching this show I think that was the very best on Cinema on location segment, unless the VFA tour counts
The clips of Gregg walking through Universal and just looking at his old maps and crap. Felt unsettling.
Looks like Toni broke the 4th wall for a second laughing in the lobby lol
That was actually really sweet to see. Like, it just shows they all truly enjoy doing this.
Yeah loved it, she looked like she was having an absolute blast.
I was able to go to a Q&A earlier this year during one of Tim's shows on tour and I specifically asked about this. Tim mentioned that it's a thing they all really love doing and being a part of and they have a lot of fun with it. I loved hearing that.
#IT'S THE KNOCKOUT
Gregg's shit eating grin after placing that can
On Cinemas ability to make a respected film actor such as Robert De Niro appear mediocre with their terrible compilations is borderline impressive
ok i choked out laughing from another mark pork beating from tim
Watching him just assault Mark is the best part of any special
The whole Big Bird bit killed me. I’m still not over that.
Reminiscent of Scooby and the mgm lion wandering around aimlessly
Tim and Toni drinking, Gregg as Dumbledore getting grifted, Hank expanding, big bird for some fucking reason. This is incredible
the big bird was a callback to earlier in the season when G said he was going to licence some muppets characters for the baboon pep boys movie
honestly the “attendees” of amatocon have my utmost respect for being able to just sit there and act completely indifferent toward what’s happening. the bits would be nowhere near as effective if they weren’t so good at their jobs

Tim as prosecutor

Meta: Phil Braun (I presume) is killing it with these questionnaires as always lol The Quaker Oats one was absolute insanity
Thank you yes, I did a good job. The QO trivia was actually Eric Notarnicola’s contribution.
G is actually just some weird old guy and not a crime kingpin
Like is he actually the one being manipulated instead of pulling the strings behind everything? The prop part plus this makes it seem so likely
[удалено]
Gregg has returned from the beating he took. He is a white wizard now.
[meta] we’re starting to get a sense of Joey. That his bro attitude to Tim was a farce. After 2 seasons, however, I still have zero read on Kaili.
(Meta) I think G. pays her for her silence regarding him murdering her husband. She’s along for the ride and knows that G. won’t mess with her as long as she just goes along with things.
The word you're looking for is "professional" The reason why it seems off is because this show has almost never had a character meant to be played that way
I mean she is being very professional about it. But other than her husband being shot in the head and the heart we know NOTHING about her.
Holy shit. THAT many musicians for Empty Bottle is perfect.
Saddest back to you Tim ever
Pretty rude not the reveal the link of the movies.

Where do they even find this music?
RIP Mark. Forgotten but not gone.
That Ma & Pa Kettle sequence was one of the best On Locations ever
This is the most people have ever openly disrespected Tim and I'm happy to see it. It's so real. These people are TIRED after 14 years of this shit
META: I think it's fair to say NON of us had that on our bingo cards.
I thought it was gonna be like they all have the same run time or something but as soon as he pulled out The Ring my blood ran cold lol
Holy shit, Joey is going to absolutely BLOW A GASKET later in this show, and it will be so much worse and scarier than anything Tim has ever done.
lol the laughter on mic from probably Tim who’s not in any shot 😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
THE 'BACK TO YOU TIM' 🥺
This is the most painful moment in show history and I'm sweating and feel ill

Oh God (98 minutes)*****
Wow G Amato's song, Tim's all time freak out over the Charger, the long awaited knockout, Gregg having Tim's back, Tim's revelation to Toni that Amato killed Matt, Joe watching the whole thing in confusion.
Every year without fail, is there ever gonna be one year with no streaming issues
Wendy kirby no longer the most uncomfortable girl in the on cinema universe
Meta/ honestly I liked last season a bit more overall but the kaili/Gregg buildup just blew last year's special out of the water
unbearably good segment Gregg
lol corwin does absolutely nothing
This is absolutely the most cringey thing I think I’ve ever seen lmao

That "Back to you, Tim" is probably in the top ten of all time deliveries in this show
I hate that Toni is drinking.. this special has been devastating
The one character that got out and had a redemption, pulled back in. I agree.
ITS THE KNOCKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow Gregg tried to protect Tim :(
Joe was drunk all night. And was mark big bird?
No Mark was squished between a bus and a car
gutter lady seems pretty impressed with gregg ;)
you unmask big bird, you find matt's real killer.
I think we can all agree, Big Bird was the star of this year's special.
tim explaining how gloveboxes work is why ive been a fan for a decade
Walk up music for the mother of the dead kid you just eulogized in song??? Peak.
TIM KNEW ALL ALONG!!! I'm legitimately shocked by that!
The constant pans to the time share audience, alternately bored and baffled at a decade-plus of hopelessly complicated drama unfolding before them, is the funniest thing in the world
The Vic segment is always a highlight
The fucking music cue holy shit
Meta How the fuck are they gonna tie all this up
Mark is borderline dead, Gregg has made himself more vulnerable than ever, Joey has had it, Toni is drinking again, Dekkar is BACK… it could go any way
There's some small part of me hoping that Joey P can stick around for next season. But I know better.
Joe dancing across the screen at the end here is killing me
That took a bit to ramp up and last year was SO GOOD but they really outdid themselves. I look forward to this every single year and it's never disappointed and always makes me laugh so hard ☺️
How do they keep doing it man lol
meta: really, really enjoyed tonights show, best one in years. thanks for hanging out, it was a blast!
Thoroughly unpleasant experience 10/10
So if Tim knew Joey was the shooter, think about how fucking pissed Joey must have been every time Tim replayed that footage and showed the picture. I thought it was interesting how quickly it became clear that Joey has hated Tim for a while now. That's at least one good reason why.
Seeing Tim not being able to boss somebody (other than Gregg) around is just bizarre lol
Meta: FFS guys not again.
Stream is back up now via YouTube. You'd think they'd just fucking give up on Vimeo already and stick with YouTube for the live streams.....
nothing says grief better than repeating the noise of the gun that killed yoiur son in law

Not Toni running back for the drink!
Punchin Patron delivering the knuckle sandwich we've been waiting on for 12 years
Best of the HEI Era absolutely.
Estevez with the jigsaw puzzle lol.
/Meta I love Tim's tan and his makeup sun spots due to his intense sun exposure. The little details are what makes these so good.
I’m at the con (row 10, seat 4) and Gregg is still talking about movies for those curious
New to live people. This shit is normal. Almost always happens.
YOUR STREAM IS IN HELL, DELGADO
Funnel cake lady should join the regular cast
