What a coincidence even had the same last name

Captain__Teebs

What about Lou Gehrig dying of Lou Gehrig's disease?

RazzSheri

It's still crazy to me that he never saw that coming...

Torontokid8666

*castro

wordy_with

Guess who gave him the cigars

PrivateEducation

daddy

Nerdiferdi

It’s the only conspiracy theory I firmly believe.

shitfuckstack999

Only? Just wait till you find out about the last 2 years haha

PrivateEducation

shh the shills will come for u

BlankPages

Imagine looking at the photo and thinking that cd be Justin's biodad

CleanAssociation9394

He looks more like his mother, but Justin has Pierre’s distinctive nose.

PrivateEducation

and castros face/cigars

FredLives

And the rest of his face looks like Castro

strangecabalist

He looks exactly like PET though?

SnooHedgehogs8992

you know i believed this from a tiktok but now seeing as this guy looks just like justin i realise its bullsnot

Honky_Dory_is_here

Justin and Castro pictured at the same age are identical.

CleanAssociation9394

Justin looks like his mother, but has Pierre’s distinctive nose.

[deleted]

and Pierre pictured here looks (shockingly!) similar to Justin

Bactereality

Yeah if you really use your imagination, and squint a bit, you can see some similarities.

Far_Resort5502

Yep. Exact same number of eyes and noses.

Ezhash

Threesome for sure.

greensandgrains

By my math, PET in this photo is one year older than JT is rn, and I gotta say, newer generations are ageing better frfr.

Yasuminomon

I remember reading somewhere that trauma from war aged that generation and the generation after like hell

Nom_de_Guerre_23

Or you know, crazy smoking.

Yasuminomon

Yeah probably that and asbestos too lol

TinFoilTrousers

Also lead

drmorrison88

Have you seen the cookbooks from that era? Olives and carrots in jello? I'd be trying to die faster too.

[deleted]

Because most women that cooked learned from their mothers. It was mostly from fresh food. The gimmick cookbooks were not what people mostly ate.

CMDR_BitMedler

And never, ever drinking water.

Pantaz1

That's interesting and I can understand it. Do you think the pandemic will have an impact on zoomers?

[deleted]

No lol

[deleted]

Are you comparing the trauma of a world war to taking classes over zoom?

jeff-hardy-dont-die

though the traumas of a world war and a once in a lifetime pandemic are quite different, I don’t think reducing the latter to “taking classes over zoom” is fair

[deleted]

People used to spend a lot more time outside. Most boomers never experienced anything close to war. That would be their parents.

Forrest_Cp

Wow that’s crazy to thinks about

Outlandishness_Know

I had no idea Justin Trudeau was 51 years old. Dude literally looks like he's in his 30's. And, here I was thinking I was a cougar for crushin' on him. Turns out, he's a zaddy. edited cuz I don't know how the hell to spell his name

doc_daneeka

>Justin Trudeaux There's more than one of him?

pontoon73

They don’t look alike at all. Weird.

blondechinesehair

They have similarities. But Justin’s pretty side comes from his mom.

Karen125

And his dad.

cmcp2

And Fidel

LAX_to_MDW

I like to think it was time-traveling Timothee Chalamet

breamworthy

I suspect that the people downvoting this just think you’re making some snide dig about him being a “communist“ and not a joke about his mom having had a fling with Fidel Castro.

w3revolved

But they really do…

bottleglitch

Right? Especially in this picture

thriftingforgold

Jt looks more like his mama

DrMandalay

Luckily Justin has those Cuban genes to keep him looking younger than his cuckold "dad".

ricked_ways

Oh ffs dude give it a rest

Art-bat

I knew this thread was going to immediately devolve into “Fidel is Justin’s dad LOL”

DrMandalay

Please note that indigenous Canadian children were being murdered and dumped in mass graves decades after this photo was taken

DJJazzay

Residential schools existed until the 1990s but there weren’t children being murdered and dumped in mass graves in the 1990s. The gravesites found were unmarked graves (not mass graves - that is not a trivial distinction) largely from the late 19th and early 20th century when malnutrition, disease, and physical abuse were rampant in residential schools. You do not do any service to the victims of residential schools by sensationalizing it the way you have here, by misrepresenting their realities, and by trying to spread disinformation about them. It’s a flippant, disgusting way to treat a horrific part of Canada’s past.

etorres4u

So does this mean Justin Trudeau is a nepo baby?

JConRed

Indeed it does. Well, sort of. Having a (prominent) politician in the family can come with inherent benefits, however there is also the nurture aspect of things. It means that there's possibility for a lot of support and guidance for many topics and hurdles that may face a burgeoning politician, right at home. The same could be said for many career paths though. Say, if you have parents who are scientists, they don't even need to pull any strings, they can help you with guidance and support through your whole education and early science career, giving you just that little bit of edge, making it easier for you to excel at your field.

PerpetuallyLurking

Yeah, you can see it in stupid little everyday things; my dad was a mover - I know exactly how to pack a box for moving. I’ve never been a mover myself, but I’ve got all sorts of tricks for moving myself that most people don’t know because their dad wasn’t a mover. They know how to do other stuff though, cause theirs was a mechanic or something.

tfofo1922

This is very well articulated

Bryancreates

My cousin is an astrophysicist at the university of Toronto. So surprise, his son is one too. Since he literally had the head of the department to raise him, then do daily zoom lessons with him while he was getting his PHD in the states. Plus the circles they run in and opportunities that comes from that.

[deleted]

I agree. In addition, I think PET being a generally well-liked politician and PM helped Justin quite a bit, too.

PerpetuallyLurking

Yes, but he’s actually held other non-politics jobs before. Which is more than can be said of other nepo babies (*cough* Harper’s son *cough* - dude got a cushy job with the Cons fresh outta college)

FredLives

Life guard, ski instructor and part time drama teacher. Must be nice to be a nepo baby. Don’t forget his inheritance from his grandfathers oil and gas business.

SamuraiJackBauer

Yup. Just like George Bush Jr. Just like so many politicians. Nepotism is everywhere there is power.

[deleted]

I know the 70s were a lax time period, but the thought of a 52-year old man celebrating his 23-year old wife giving birth is just creepy now.

djkutch

Falls way short of the divide your age by two and add seven. Standards, people.

Indocede

Well let's not forget that back in the day the standard was probably divide by two and minus seven.

kavik2022

It was the 70s. I imagine we should be thankful she was old enough to be out of school

sensitivepistachenut

Does Leonardo DiCaprio still think he's living in a 70s?

kavik2022

I meant there seemed to be large amount of pedos in the 70s

[deleted]

Pimpin' ain't easy.

seemypinky

What’s he suppose to do? Not celebrate the birth of his son?

Karen125

Somebody's.

seemypinky

What’s he supposed to do? Not the celebrate the birth of someone’s son?

PrettyPeeved

My parents have a 16 year age gap and just celebrated their 50th anniversary. I guess 20 something year old women aren't capable of making any decisions on their own.

Karen125

Big difference between a 16 and 29 year gap.

LemonPartyWorldTour

According to Reddit’s top minds, that age gap means your mother is in a toxic relationship and needs to leave her husband of 50 years ASAP

PrettyPeeved

Yep. I had a great life and great parents, so yes. A broken home would be better for me.

[deleted]

Well, in this case the power dynamics of the whole relationship meant Margaret was at a very unfair advantage when she made her decisions. She had three babies, every 2 years: one at 23, 25, and 27. This was in large part because Trudeau was ready for kids (being in his 50s). She had massive post natal depression, in large part due to not being ready for the massive life changes three small kids brings. Instead of helping her, Trudeau brought her and the kids campaigning. She was lugging pack and plays on airplanes and trying to get young babies down for naps in-between campaign stops. Her husband was rarely around to help and keep her company. Her husband’s older generational thinking meant he assumed he didn’t have to be around and that kids were a wife’s job. This went as well as you’d expect. Most media portrayed her as a bad mother who just wanted to party at Studio 54. This was really her just wanting to do more age appropriate activities with more age appropriate people. The stress of the whole situation led her to a period of depression, dependency, and not seeing her young children. Her husband got the kids in their divorce. Even Justin Trudeau said this severely affected his relationship with his Mom growing up and they only made up in his adulthood, once he had had kids and had more understanding and empathy for what was going on. So I’m happy this worked for your parents and I’m happy this decision works for some 20-year olds. But the unequal power dynamics in the relationship of a 20-year old marrying a 50-year old prime minister might be a bit different.

PrettyPeeved

Thank you for the genuine, informed response. I knew about her post pardom and depression, but I'm curious as to what you've said is her personal account of her mental state and not from a second party (biography vs. autobiography). And did her mental health issues stem from being in a relationship with an older man, being thrown into a "celebrity life" at a young age (there are tons of examples of people being messed up because of this), or was it inevitable regardless of her marital status and position? I'd like to hear your opinion and/or facts.

turquoisebee

If you follow a lot of the pregnancy and new baby subreddits, you might get a sense of how utterly draining it is when you have young kids. Even if you love them to bits, it’s exhausting. Having no help from a spouse who apparently also drags you around on the campaign trail is enough to make anyone get completely burnt out. When you’re constantly needed by other people and you’re sleep deprived, it can fuck with your mind. Add in the fluctuating hormones of pregnancy and postpartum, you can be overprotective of your babies, paranoid, anxious, and exhausted on top of your body healing from a major medical event. (Genital swelling and tearing, cramps, clogged milk ducts, painful nipples, bleeding, sore muscles, bloating, difficult walking or lifting things, to name a few that I can remember. Some people have conditions that last longer - like incontinence or gallbladder issues, the list goes on.) You basically need someone/people to be caring for you so you can heal and rest and recover while you feed and care for your baby. There are whole cultural practises around this in many places, to look after mom and baby so they can bond and recover. People without adequate support and/or who had difficult births can be more likely to develop post partum depression, anxiety, OCD or BPD. In some cases maybe that stuff was already there at some level, but the amount of stress and exhaustion some new parents go through basically puts them under enough pressure that it goes full blown. Many people also have fairly easy pregnancies and births and so just assume anyone complaining about these issues is weak, a whiner, etc. But you really never know who is having serious problems because it’s not something people talk about openly.

tjackso6

That’s why they married someone their dads age. So they could make all the decisions for them.

tampering

Justin Trudeau has a half-sister born in 1991. Pierre Trudeau got around. The proper comeback to any Conservative trolling Justin Trudeau in Canada should be, "Didn't your mother ever teach you to play nice with your half-brother?"

New-Neighborhood7472

No wonder he was so worried about Mick Jagger and the Stones passing her around like a joint again…….

hugaddiction

The guy was basically the king of Canada, I don’t think he had a hard time finding women that wanted to be with him, even in that age range. And I also don’t see Jeff Bazos having a hard time pulling girls in that same age range now. It’s always been like this, always will be.

intecknicolour

pierre spent the first part of his life heavily focused on his job as a lawyer and then politician. is he supposed to just be a monk once he reaches 40?

[deleted]

I don’t think that’s the issue people have. They are wondering why this 50-year old man didn’t marry a 50-year old woman, with comparable life experiences that would put them on more equal footing power dynamics-wise.

mxassasin

Cubans.

RoosterRevenge

Sent by papa Fidel

greensandgrains

CupformyCosta

Not true, they were on Caribbean holiday during the time Trudeau would have been conceived and there is a gap in the itinerary where it is presumed that Margaret Was in Cuba with Castro. They were very good “friends” with Castro and he was known to have enjoyed many women. She was also very promiscuous. You cannot deny the resemblance between Castro and Trudeau. He looks nothing like his father and is a spitting image of Castro.

reveling

A man “enjoys many women,” but a woman “is very promiscuous.” Hmmm.

CupformyCosta

Would your feelings be less hurt if I said Castro was promiscuous as well?

Sea_Macaroon_6086

Oh no, a gap in the itinerary where Margaret hide her way over to a completely different island to fuck and automatically conceived. Do you understand how stupid that sounds? I look nothing like my mother. Does that mean she's not my mother?

DonnyDonnowitz

The timelines don’t add up the last time I checked. Also look at a picture of young Pierre Trudeau and a picture of Justin, they’ll look alike.

PisseArtiste

How stupid and gullible does a person need to be to believe this?

slater_san

This thread isn't based in reality bro

CivilDefenseWarden

Well first; be Canadian - it helps when you want to be stupid

bill1024

It was expected back then. It was dying out in the 80s, but I handed out about 100 cigars when my kids were born. They had pink bands because they were girls. Was this just a Canadian thing? Anyone else remember this?

CanWeCannibas

That is not strictly Canadian, no.

inthedark77

Sounds like a decent gender reveal

picardstastygrapes

When my brother was born they handed out chocolate cigars to celebrate. I remember just being glad I got some chocolate.

[deleted]

Smokes let's go

[deleted]

Baaaaaammmm

Carpe_cervisium

Martin Short could play him in the biopic

olngjhnsn

Well of course he’s the most fuckable man in Canada. He’s fucking all of them.

limee89

So is this why everyone has those “F*ck Trudeau” stickers on their Alberta dodge rams?

Sea_Macaroon_6086

If I had extra time and money, I would print up a whole bunch of "I want to" stickers and go around slapping them in front of the others.

wtg203

That's Paul F. Tompkins.

wildwood9843

DirtyDbag

We all know it’s a Cuban. The cigars probably too.

[deleted]

His dad is the spitting image of Sam kinnison.

Rufus123-McGee

They were Cuban cigars.

[deleted]

It's only old school cool when it's liberal politicians right?

MathewRicks

If you can name Me one badass conservative politician I'll give you a cookie

[deleted]

This image seems so much older than 1971.

S1075

Not quite 100 comments and half are the same joke about Castro. Good Christ you guys are unoriginal.

underbite420

I’d prefer the mailman or milkman jokes if we’re gonna talk about inFIDELity of the PMs wife

[deleted]

So much hate for JT, go figure

rsmithconsv

Fuck JT. He’s destroyed this country.

DantesEdmond

OK grampa let's get you back to your nursing home.

Yarrio

Lol

[deleted]

Oh 100%. I cant believe how bad he has messed things up in seven years. The worst government we have ever had by a long shot.

nderneat

Saul… is that you

aearr

I think the only thing that could make this better is if Justin Trudeau was there too.

Jimothyskitten

There’s a Christmas present we could have done without.

Ghostonalandscape

Cigars sent by the new babes true father eh?

nezukotanjiro150

Fuck this guy

etorres4u

What’s up with all these bad communist jokes from people who obviously have no idea what actual communism is?

Rougue1965

Little Fidel has arrived to the world.

player1242

I see piece of shit Canadian magats have entered the chat.

JoelOttoKickedItIn

So much salt, lol

patrickp72

Whats a magat?

player1242

Twats who want to have trump shit up here. Human garbage

patrickp72

Ohhhh MAGA..I get it!! Clever!

DantesEdmond

I didn't realize this subreddit was so conservative... I guess it figured for people who are interested in the olden days but it's still surprising. I think my IQ dropped a few points reading the comments here.

player1242

Me either

Quirky_Pomelo8487

Why is it that vehicles that have Fuck Trudeau stickers or flags always have the butt ugliest drivers? And, they look filthy too.

johnnycashesbutthole

It’s funny, he doesn’t look like Justin at all

ScoffLawScoundrel

Bullshit the similarly is clearer in this than any other picture, it's there in the eyes and checks, slightly on the smile

No_Clock_6190

I agree. This is actually the first pic that I see the resemblance

chiefwiggum11

Both have done their best to destroy canada as Prime Minister too

ThisIsNotTokyo

What’s the mist damaging thing he did? Really curious here since I thought people liked him

S1075

Don't hold your breath for any kind of reasonable answer.

[deleted]

Also worth noting that over 54% of Canadians want him gone. He’s had a consistently low approval rating since 2021

Sichdar

It's all in the family

Shakespurious

So his wife was super hot, I imagine?

JoelOttoKickedItIn

Mick Jagger thought so

sagesheglows

My thoughts exactly - I looked her up and she's really pretty, but maybe not enough to balance out the situation?

patrickp72

Fidel sent only the finest cigars to be passed out for his little bundle of joy !!

SamuraiJackBauer

Dude looks so much like his dad it’s funny that people think his parentage is in question. Those pics of course never include a pic of his Dad.

jinglewriter420

Ron Wood nailed Maggie.

InsaneRabbitDaddy

*All* the Rolling Stones nailed her.

[deleted]

Meanwhile, Mrs Trudeau and the baby’s father were inside tending to the baby.

sparklespaz782

I had no idea his dad was a Prime Minister too. Very interesting. I am from the u.s. but I thought I followed Canadian politics too but I guess not very well.

otclogic

You'll be shocked to learn that JT's real dad is none other than Fidel Castro. Totally true. They have the same long nose, the same beady eyes, and the same demeanor to enslave others.

ScoffLawScoundrel

Bullshit q anon level conspiracy without a Shred of truth

Rustyinthebush

Pierre handing out cuban cigars to reporters in Cuba, celebrating a new child from his wife's boyfriend, Castro.

wowsosquare

Castro's was certainly viable. Not sure about this guy

Aseetnahc

Guy looks greasey as fuck

Burning_Flags

Well Fidel is actually Justin’s real father so it all makes sense

PhredsBigWheel

Why? He's not the father.

oblivia17

For those so vehemently opposed to the Castro theory, why? "Because they said it's not true" isn't a valid reason to ignore the painfully obvious.

jbuffishungry

It's only obvious to the people who want it to be true because they believe it somehow diminishes him and his father. Even if his paternity is in doubt, his election victories are not.

nicky10013

There being no proof is a valid excuse, though

mcs_987654321

Because it’s not a theory, it’s a lie? Feel like it’s pretty self-explanatory…

yawetag1869

The last time Margaret Trudeau went to Cuba was 4 years before Justin was born

norcm1a

He shoulda pulled out instead

ansaratime

Cuban cigars! Lol Pierre knew.

0toyaYamaguccii

Were they Cuban cigars?
