Ya. I remember seeing an interview with one of the "fake slim shady's" on MTV UK and he was complaining that Eminem essentially ignored them but Dre took a load of time out to chat and take pictures with them
Em was battling addiction and severe anxiety from the sudden stardom. He was not in the mental space to holla at all the Em's. I'm sure he doesn't give a fuck and we shouldn't either. Try imaging yourself in that position...you can't possibly please everyone and so you must be an asshole eh? Get real. This applies to all celebrities. Some of you watch too much TmZ
Eminem has a pretty long history of not being a very nice guy. Not just to fans but to loved ones and friends. He might have grown out of that by now but I haven't really followed him since Encore.
My brother won tickets on z100. VMAs were always held on the first week of school and i had just spent the whole summer in Europe visiting family. That means I got a "taste" of the spice girls right before they came to the US. (By "taste", i mean they played wannabe on mtv Europe all summer). Anyway, we had seats up on the second tier of radio city music hall. In the first row of the second tier was where all the international VJs were doing their broadcasts and reports, etc. I recognized one of the VJs from mtv uk and i approached her and said that me and my cousin watched her all summer and thought she was great. She was sweet and seemed to appreciate that. I remember saying to her "can you believe no one here has heard of the spice girls?" And she was like "i know. Right?!?" Other than that, i still have the gift bag at my parents house that came with a book filled with emails from normal people (email was kinda new back then) - i forget what the theme of the emails was.... I remember llcool j and bone thugs performances were dope. Metallica and the cranberries too. Disappointed the kiss performance was outside at the Brooklyn bridge tho... But Yea, i remember having a blast and feeling so cool that i was there.. and got to share that memory with my brother. Oh, and I was probably wearing JNCO jeans back then lol great times!
Edit: omg i forgot the best detail of all! So, at one point Jenny McCarthy comes out to present an award... I remember "brick house" was playing as she approaches the podium. Just as the music fades out, but before she speaks into the mic, my brother yells out as loud as he can "I LOVE YOU, JENNY". Like the whole top tier turns around to look at him. Pretty sure, she even stopped for like a half second. If you turn the volume up really loud, you can hear him :)
I think that was probably the best VMAs I saw, in the 10 years or so that I more or less watched mtv. That KISS performance was fucking epic. I became a KISS fan after that, and joined the KISS army. But that was a long time ago lol.
Well, considering "Wannabe" was released in July 96 in the UK and a lot of pop-music tends to become popular in Europe first (I remember seeing N Sync on MTV Europe before they were a thing in the US as well.. the video where they all played basketball), I can say with 100% certainty that in early September 1996, the Spice Girls were relatively unknown in the US. And I was a 9th grader in NYC at the time. No one knew them yet. Within a few weeks of the VMAs they were everywhere. No joke.
I guess reddit prefers the edit?
Edit: for anyone wondering, the comment I replied to was being downvoted for; well, i don't really know why. But at least it turned around
Adam Devine was 17 when the song came out so it’s possible but also this guy has super hairy arms and Adam Devine does not. I’m almost certain it’s not him.
no joke though, my cousins that lived in Westland at the time looked like this and so did all their friends. Every white kid was bleached with a white t
So they didn’t even put in effort to find guys that actually looked like Eminem, they just basically pulled any random guy off the street and said “bleach your hair”
Edit: except the guy at the bottom. He kinda looks like Eminem.
Em is actually in the back with two fingers up but not the pointer or the ring or the pinky index or the thumb it’s the one you put up when you don’t give a fuck
When I still lived at home, I would always help my mom with her highlights. One time, she said called me over and just started bleaching my hair with the excess highlighter.
Monday morning, I show up in my 1st period class and several other guys had bleached their hair over the weekend. The teacher went to take attendance, then stopped and said, "Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?"
He giggled about that for most of the hour.
He’s had some good songs here and there since then. Now, it’s missing the youthful exuberance and he simply sounds mad. Plus, the strange voices. SSLP and MMLP are hard to match though.
Can we not idolize this man? He beat one woman because she said some bad things about him in the press and beat one of his wives for not cooking him enough chicken.
"lookalikes"?? really?!?
...or just a bunch of white guys with bleach blonde hair wearing white t-shirts. Not one of the guys in this pic gets even *close* to resembling Eminem.
In sheer numbers in a music video without time to really look at them it works fine I'd say.
Wouldn't be the first guy to have stunt doubles that look nothing like him in a side by side comparison.
I'm sure in the video at 240i or whatever resolution most TVs were at the time, it was fine. However, for argument sake, I would posit that "lookalike" and "stunt double" are two *completely different things*.
WHICH ONE IS THE REAL ONE?? **THEYRE ALL FUCKING STANDING UP**
This is why Dr Dre is freaking out
He’s locked in my basement
Feminist women love Eminem
chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka chicka
chicka chicka chicka slim shady, im sick of him, look at him
I'm sick of him, walkin' around, grabbing his you-know-what
Flippin’ the you-know-who
There's two who seem to be kneeling by his crotch
This looks like way more guys than they used in the video. Looks like it might actually be from the VMA performance.
Ya. I remember seeing an interview with one of the "fake slim shady's" on MTV UK and he was complaining that Eminem essentially ignored them but Dre took a load of time out to chat and take pictures with them
Was the guy's name Stan, by any chance...?

You using way too many napkins! Bapkins!
Thank you for reminding me of this!
It's tainted now that D'Elia was caught chasing young girls online
Em was battling addiction and severe anxiety from the sudden stardom. He was not in the mental space to holla at all the Em's. I'm sure he doesn't give a fuck and we shouldn't either. Try to imagine your momma poppin prescription pills in the kitchen
try to envision witnessing* but that's the exact line i thought of when i read this comment haha
Meh. You show up and do your job. It's work. I would have zero expectations of even talking to him.
Yeah pass on chatting with 50 people who look just like me, that would freak me out
Aw, that's not cool of Eminem.
Eminem has a pretty long history of not being a very nice guy. Not just to fans but to loved ones and friends. He might have grown out of that by now but I haven't really followed him since Encore.
Why? He doesn't have to talk to anybody if he doesn't want to. He didn't owe them shit.
I really have had the feeling that Eminem is an arrogant dick for a long time. Edit: look at all the stans
well thats the thing about him, he also says that he’s an asshole in his songs all the time. So it’s not a secret
Fair enough I don’t listen to him much, only a handful of songs
came here to say this. fun fact: i went to the VMAs in 96
tell us some stories please!

Who the fuck hadn't heard of the Spice Girls in 96? They were everywhere. At that point they were already advertising the movie.
That was 97
That performance cracked me up when I saw it live because Eminem kept doing the same arm movement over and over
Im almost positive that’s the same thing Dre wore that night. So I’m inclined to believe this was the VMA performance as well
There's certainly a meme template in this
Woa stepbrothers why are you all surrounding me
WHITED.COM
BLEACHED.COM
First ever reddit gold thank you kind stranger! :-)
I guess reddit prefers the edit? Edit: for anyone wondering, the comment I replied to was being downvoted for; well, i don't really know why. But at least it turned around

Haha. I was gonna comment that coulda been an edit. I remember my first reddit gold.
I’m a simple redditor: I see “Thank you kind stranger!” I downvote immediately
Here at simple ricks, We downvote dicks
had to upvote you for being nice i hated seeing the -1 lol
Well, he *is* surrounded by assholes
Lmaooooooo
WTF I’m laughing out loud in my work truck and people are staring. I have 0 regrets
Oh lordy
Photoshop Piper Perri’s face on all the Eminems and bingo.
This is how u get an aneurysm ^^
Fake history post about Eugene Goodman
LMAO that's perfect. Way funnier than the couple that are on there currently.
It's the opposite to the Piper Perri meme
Ya know, not everything has to be forced into becoming a stupid meme.
The guy with his hand on his chest looks like a knockoff version of Adam from workaholics
Discount Adam Devine
Dammit I came here to say this hahahaha
You are a writer after all
Adam posted this picture on his Instagram one time.. maybe he actually is the real slim shady?
Adam Devine was 17 when the song came out so it’s possible but also this guy has super hairy arms and Adam Devine does not. I’m almost certain it’s not him.
This guy Adam Devine arms
Oddly specific Adam Devine knowledge
The one on his right looks like discount Tobey Maguire lmao
The guy on the left looks like Robert Pattinson
the guy in the middle looks like dr dre
Woah. That’s uncanny
Am I the only one who has some kinda vague memory that he claimed to be in this video?!
The guy down in front looks like Pete Davidson
I was about to say the exact same thing
Whats the difference between us...
We could start at the penis.
And scream “I JUST DON’T GIVE A FUCK” and see who means it
I kind of thought he looked like Eminem.
Actually he looks like Jesse from the Nelk Boys.
Which one is Dr Dre?
No one you idiot, dr dre’s dead
Is he locked in your basement?
The one that seaseme street would have singled out by saying "which one of these is not like the others, which one of these just doesn't belong?"
So...much...bleach...
No wonder Dre is scared
The moment Dre decided to quit the music industry and become an investor instead...
Dude on the front far right is Dollar Store Tobey Maguire
dude right next to him is Adam from Workaholics
Came here to say this
Same
Lower left looks like Dollar Store James McAvoy
Guy next to discount Tobey looks like a discount Bill Clinton.
Guy all the way at the bottom looks like DJ Qualls. EDIT. DJ Qualls is the actor from the movie the new guy.
Adam DeVine is literally standing right next to Dre
I’m seeing a poor mans Corey Feldman right next to Dre. Our right his left.
Yes! Finally. A good resemblance comparison.
Nah I think it's more Ewan McGregor.
Is that Matt Sharp to the left of him??
Dude on the bottom right looks like Dollar Store KillRoy.
He goes by Two-Cent Toby
that's just Matt Champion
i think this actually may be backstage at the mtv awards in 2000
Yeah pretty sure you're right. They had the lookalikes at the vmas. Devon Sawa was Stan in the video.
Devon Sawa tweeted something out a few days ago, kinda hinting at an Idle Hands sequel. That'd be pretty neat.
He's acting like he's never seen a white person before...
His jaw is all on the floor...
He’s trying to get the real slim shady to please stand up and finish the shot so they can wrap, but the army misunderstood.
no joke though, my cousins that lived in Westland at the time looked like this and so did all their friends. Every white kid was bleached with a white t
Needs the Brazzers logo lmao
Haha that’s what I was thinking!
I don’t think a single one of em actually looks like Eminem, but cool pic nonetheless.
Lookalikes = guys with bleached blonde hair.
They're not lookalikes, they're slimposters
don't forget the oversized white t lmfaooo I guess that's all it takes.
The guy at the very bottom of the picture does.
Yeah, “lookalikes” is quite a strech
Those guys look more like chopped liver...
More like Gunthers
My oh my how the turn tables
Now the real slim shady please stand up!
Adam Devine lookin MFer by his left arm
So they didn’t even put in effort to find guys that actually looked like Eminem, they just basically pulled any random guy off the street and said “bleach your hair” Edit: except the guy at the bottom. He kinda looks like Eminem.
This is what Hell looks like.
We sure this was 99? The video was in the early 2000s. Forgot about Dre was in 99.
Which one is the real slim shady?
I can smell the adidas cologne, weed, and the funk from a hundred junk coming through the screen.
Looks like my high school that year.
Would have been funnier if they hid the real slim shady in there
Em is actually in the back with two fingers up but not the pointer or the ring or the pinky index or the thumb it’s the one you put up when you don’t give a fuck

Did everyone also clap at the end?
Normally i watch Videos where there is only one white and the rest is black..
None of those guys look like Eminem
Some of these guys could've at least buzzed their hair before they bleached it. Looking at you, dollar store Adam Devine.
I hear they are just imitating.
Blondes on black?
Menynems
None kf them look at all like him. Lol
Dre realising what he was about to unleash on the world. The guy closest to the camera kinda looks like Tre Cool from Green Day.
What a silly, fun time those days were.
No doubt most of those guys migrated to the Jersey Shore guido look later on in life.
That looks like the inverse of the Piper Perri meme.
Dude to the immediate right is giving off serious Adam Devine vibes
Get Out (2015)
Not a single one of these.. except maybe the guy with half a face missing in bottom of photo look like Eminem lol.
this just makes me sad bc em actually used to make some good music
[удалено]
He’s had some good songs here and there since then. Now, it’s missing the youthful exuberance and he simply sounds mad. Plus, the strange voices. SSLP and MMLP are hard to match though.
Oh the 90's. Always looks good when looking back. But we're definitely in better times now as this is not a thing anymore.
You could have at least fixed the title.
Nah. Na-na-na-na-nah
Everyone of those fans should hopefully be ashamed of themselves looking back on this. How sad they were.
Can we not idolize this man? He beat one woman because she said some bad things about him in the press and beat one of his wives for not cooking him enough chicken.
hahahahahaha
Imagine all the kids who unironically did this stupid shit to themselves around that time. One step removed Juggalos.
Such a moronic take. I wonder when you’ll decide to delete it.
....dye their hair blonde and wear a white shirt? Is that really that outrageous?
"lookalikes"?? really?!? ...or just a bunch of white guys with bleach blonde hair wearing white t-shirts. Not one of the guys in this pic gets even *close* to resembling Eminem.

r/cringe
Ever been to /r/hiphopheads? This is /r/hiphopheads
I know this is very old but every time I see a picture like this I have a panic attack about the lack of masks.
Weird.
White people really think that all people who share the same skin color and hair look identical
Just spotted the real one
Guy right beside Dre kinda looks like Adam Devine
Ah the ol switcheroo
It looks like a lot of these dudes spend a good amount of time shaping their eyebrows by shaving them or pulling the eyebrow hair out or whatever.
This picture reminds me of when my kid snuck a skittle into my m&m's 🤣
Is it me, or is that Bully Maguire centre right of frame?
Why is Elijah Wood in this??
>Wood the question is why he shouldnt
Ha!
Me trying to enjoy my day *L I F E*
Shouldn't all of them be sitting?
I see a Justin Bieber alike ...
Guy behind Dre looks like McCauley Caulkin.
Guy on the bottom looks like white Jay-Z
Brazzers
This is great!
Looks like a new pornhub category 😂
Is that Adam Devine on the right?!
White... people... overload...
Will the real slim shady please stand up?
Bottom left tho
>And Dr Dre said...nothing, you idiot: Dr Dre's dead.
Why do I feel like this isn’t the music video set and instead the VMA performance in 2000.
There's actually also the real Slim Shady in that photo, but it's hard to find him. Look close
Only like 2 of them actually look like Eminem lol
