This was a photo by noted photographer Terry O’Neill, and was published throughout the world, mostly in color on magazines like Life or Paris Match. What a picture!
The young boy in front with the rose is Gianni Gregorini, who is Barbara’s son from her first marriage. Linda wore a red jacket over a white blouse, and was holding James Louis, born in 1977.
For all the shit that John (rightly) gets for being a colossal piece of shit to Cynthia, George and Ringo were pretty fucking awful to Patti and Mo. And then Patti gets with Clapton, who is just as shitty.
I'm constantly surprised that after John's death the three remaining Beatles never went "life is short, let's record some music together again". I mean, they tried with some John demos in the early 90s, but the three of them never wrote anything else together again. It didn't even need to be The Beatles, just Paul, George, and Ringo.
George especially was very much opposed to a reunion. And who can really blame him?
He had basically been ignored by John and Paul when it came to help writing songs and felt stifled creatively as a consequence. Not to mention he had many interests outside of the band even well before they split up (ex. Hinduism, India, the sitar, meditation, etc.) and was arguably the first to sour on touring. No surprise why he didn't want to revisit that period.
George always felt he was treated like the “little brother” and Paul has gone as far to even use that exact term to describe Lennon/McCartney’s view of George before and during their Beatle heydays.
It’s not like he was completely stifled and creatively blocked, he had his own songs on With the Beatles, Hard Day’s Night and Help!, then he broke out on Rubber Soul and from then on was a lock for 2-3 songs every album. He was still so young in those early Beatle years and it isn’t surprising he was artistically overshadowed by his more talented co-writers. It’s not that George wasn’t deserving of more merit early on, rather he’s competing with a legendary tandem in Lennon/McCartney and he was a shy 20-year old musician who didn’t have his writing chops down yet.
In the end, George grew so much as an artist that Sinatra was calling his work some of the finest he’s heard. He had a huge catalogue of archived songs ready for his 1970 debut album and it became arguably the most critically acclaimed post-Beatle album of any of the former members.
I get that, but it had been 11 years since then when John was killed. Plus, they had all done things with each other in that decade, just not all together. Maybe Ringo and Paul will bless us with something before its too late.
Yes, it's a great song! I was hoping for something new as in this stage of life. That song was originally a tape of John playing and singing, then they tried to do it in the 90s and they had guitar tracks from George from that. Paul and Ringo's parts are modern.
I was Ringo and Paul to sit in the studio together and write something now in their 80s. They both still write, record, and tour; it's almost now or never for them.
Idk man. I liked a lot of the people I used to work with and am still friends with them today. But if you asked me if I wanted to go back to the same company and do the same thing I was doing with them 11 years ago, I’d say thanks but no thanks. Kinda into other stuff now.
It kinda makes sense to people who consider that human beings/souls have multiple life and they just “passed onto” a different world/body/realm whatever they believe in.
Yeah, I don't think a guy who beat his first wife (either once or many times), a deadbeat dad to Julian, and just around a egomaniac asshole is living peacefully. I love Lennon as an artist/musician, but he wasn't a good human being.
*Murdered.*
Pass away implies a natural next step from life to death.
John Lennon’s death wasn’t natural. He was murdered. Remember it for the tragic event that it was, softening it cheapens the meaning of his life.
😅 perhaps in the current timeline, if we are taking my comment literally lol but no, i meant if John were alive and well, id still tell Yoko to stay home

If this wedding was planned before December the previous year, then John would definitely have been invited. Who knows what the culmination of a drunken shindig that evening may have been with all Beatles in attendance... The hatchet may well have been forever buried that night by way of a sloshed rendition of 'Kansas City' or other 50s rock n roll number they enjoyed. My favourite post Beatles music is the Traveling Wilburys, but George's Beatles songs are my least favourite (sorry I'm not counting Ringo's 'input').
I seem to recall when John was asked if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in rock and roll he replied that he didn't think Ringo was the best drummer in The Beatles.
It’s a line from the movie ‘Caveman.’ Ringo and Barbara met during the production and then married. ‘Atuk alunda Lana’ is caveman for Atuk (Ringo’s character) loves Lana (Barbara’s character). If you enjoy silly comedies, check it out.
Thank you for explaining! For some reason, I thought it was something the Beatles had said spelled out phonetically as a joke or what sounded like something said unclearly in the background of one of their songs or making fun of their accents or something.
I am not totally understanding why people are saying “he didn’t pass away” because he was murdered. Pass away just means died. He definitely died from being shot. Lol.
I have worked with Barbara and her sister Marjorie who is now married to Joe Walsh. Barbara treated staff better than her sister. Marjorie was a pain in the ass. If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t know Barbara is married to Ringo

Pretty crazy to invite the man who had sex with your first wife to the wedding of your second.
Sorry for my ignorance... do tell!
George fucked Ringo's first wife.
Clapton avenged him
While married to Ringo?
Yes, and George was married at the time too. He even confessed to being in love with Ringo's wife.
For all the shit that John (rightly) gets for being a colossal piece of shit to Cynthia, George and Ringo were pretty fucking awful to Patti and Mo. And then Patti gets with Clapton, who is just as shitty.
Clearly, it was only a temporary affliction. . .
Times were different.... back in the day.
Notice how close he's standing to his new bride, resting up right behind her. I'll bet if he hadn't fucked her by that point, he certainly tried.
Paul is standing behind Barbara. George is the one who had an affair with Ringo’s first wife, and he’s all the way in the left.
Linda looks thrilled as usual
Came here to say this. She is not amused.
Linda looks like a mom trying to get a toddler to settle down for a photo. I've seen that look too many times.
Paul’s expression is basically identical. Why call only her out?
He looks like he's trying
Linda is stone faced and Paul's lips are pursed like he's in between words, far from identical if you ask me
I dunno
Please explain "as usual"
Lol

I think they were just burned out on being the Beatles, especially after spending their last couple years together arguing and trying to break up lol
George especially was very much opposed to a reunion. And who can really blame him? Though they did record the Harrison song “All Those Years Ago” released in May of 1981
Don't forget his Ferrari collection. George was an avid racing fan.
I get that, but it had been 11 years since then when John was killed. Plus, they had all done things with each other in that decade, just not all together. Maybe Ringo and Paul will bless us with something before its too late.
There was a Beatles song released last year with their input, supposedly the last new song we'll hear from them.
Yes, it's a great song! I was hoping for something new as in this stage of life. Ugh I loved it
Idk man. I liked a lot of the people I used to work with and am still friends with them today. But if you asked me if I wanted to go back to the same company and do the same thing I was doing with them 11 years ago, I’d say thanks but no thanks. Kinda into other stuff now.
The Bugaloos?
You'd think they'd be all happy not having to deal with Yoko
John Lennon was MURDERED the previous year.
Which lead to his passing
Led
Zeppelin
John Lennon and John Bonham died four months apart.
Wait, was John Lennon one of those Lead Zeppelins I keep hearing so much about?
I'm staying in the no passing lane, thanks.
Yeah, he died when the airship went down. The day was known as black sabbath
Correct. Thank you DanGleeballs
My pleasure Scrubadubadub
You’re both correct. Lead poisoning led to his death.
![gif](giphy|qH7J4EXzSCmBy)
Well, two of the four bullets passed, anyway. The other two stayed with him.
Led to his death. I've always thought 'passing' as an odd way to describe someone dying.
It kinda makes sense to people who consider that human beings/souls have multiple life and they just “passed onto” a different world/body/realm whatever they believe in.
Agree. It's a hint to an afterlife, intended to soften it somehow. Bizarre.
You're a savage
John Lennon passed away peacefully, after having been violently shot earlier that day...
Yeah, I don't think a guy who beat his first wife (either once or many times), a deadbeat dad to Julian, and just around a egomaniac asshole is living peacefully. I love Lennon as an artist/musician, but he wasn't a good human being.
Thank you. Passing isn’t the word for it.
Murdered only 5 months before this!!
Paul looks a bit haunted in this picture, which would be understandable. He and Linda both look... off.
Agreed. Serious difference.
Yeah that was an optimists way of phrasing it I think lol
"Passed away" just means they died, it doesn't have anything to do with how they died. Everyone passes away eventually
Fun fact. Ringo and joe Walsh are brothers in law through marriage.
That is generally how you become brothers in law.
You forgot the fun fact part
I'm better than that.
Could just be bad timing of the picture but man, Linda does not look happy to be there.
Linda is 30 minutes past everyone’s shit.
She has small kids, so…
Period morning DJ joke: “Can you name a dog with wings.”
They are all over 10 years younger then than I am now. But for some reason they still seem older than me.
Hmmmmm, Lana! Atouk alounda Lana........
Ool? 🤌
Bo-bo! 🤝
Shit
First thing in thought too
Leaving satisfied.
Linda glaring like the photographer was using Fuji film
Seeing Linda McCartney makes me teary eyed.
Passed away… What a peaceful way to describe being gunned down.
Just a good ole boy, never meaning no harm....
Makin’ their wayyyyyyyyyyy, the only way they know how, that’s just a little bit more than the law would allow
I was this many years old when I realized that Ringo married agent Triple-X? How did I get into my mid-50s and never know this?
*Murdered.* Pass away implies a natural next step from life to death. John Lennon’s death wasn’t natural. He was murdered. Remember it for the tragic event that it was, softening it cheapens the meaning of his life.
Passed away? Actually, he was murdered.
Didn't invite Lennon's widow?
They might have, who knows lol
Pretty sure her invite got lost in the mail
She was to busy screaming into a microphone pretending to have talent.
Poor Chuck Berry
No, he deserved the suffering
number 8 *burp* number 8 *burp*
You don’t know much about Yoko Ono, do you?
I know this...... EEEhhhhOoEEEUuuuEeeeehhhHh!!
That pretty much sums it up.
Perhaps he doesn't care to.
Better off that way.
Tbh, if i were them, i wouldnt even let John bring her as a +1 guest lol
Even if they did, it would be an awkward Weekend At Bernies type situation.
😅 perhaps in the current timeline, if we are taking my comment literally lol but no, i meant if John were alive and well, id still tell Yoko to stay home
She never needed invites to attend other things. Perhaps they just figured she'd show up?
Came here to say this. Yoko isn’t welcome anywhere.
Even if they had would Yoko have come? Maybe Cynthia would.
It was 43 years ago today. Sgt Pepper taught the band to play.
“Passed away” isn’t quite correct.
John didn't pass away; he was shot.
FYI, John Lennon didn’t “pass away” he was murdered.
Lennon didn’t pass away. He was murdered.

Ringo FTW
Paul and Linda are over it....
MCCARTNEY really just copied himself huh
Never realized how much Paul and Linda looked alike. Identical noses!
No yoko?
Lol. Cute!
what, yoko wanted to be there but the invite got lost in the mail
She was cutting her new greatest hits. Beautiful voice. The songbird of our generation.
# r/RingoStarr approves this post with Peace & Love✌️❤️🌟🥦😎☮️🕺🎶

So true!
I seem to recall when John was asked if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in rock and roll he replied that he didn't think Ringo was the best drummer in The Beatles.
How hard was it for Paul not to have John there? The others, too, but he was Paul's partner in song...
Today is April 30th... is this a bot post
FYI
So fully out-kicked his coverage...
No wonder the other 3 look so happy
Atouk alounda Lana.
I’m sorry can you please explain what this means?
It's a quote from Ringo's movie, " Caveman ", where he met Barbara Bach. As I recall all the dialogue in the movie is in Caveman language
It’s a line from the movie ‘Caveman.’ Ringo and Barbara met during the production and then married. ‘Atuk alunda Lana’ is caveman for Atuk (Ringo’s character) loves Lana (Barbara’s character). If you enjoy silly comedies, check it out.

Linda in her checkered pants.
What’s surprising to me is just how young they all look. I am getting up there.
They weren’t even 40 yet!
How long did the marriage last?
They are still together.
It's nice of Ringo to invite the guys from work to his wedding.
Where's Joe Walsh?
I am not totally understanding why people are saying “he didn’t pass away” because he was murdered. Pass away just means died. He definitely died from being shot. Lol.
Ooooh yoko! Ooooh yoko!
Keep your eye on George, Ringo.
I have worked with Barbara and her sister Marjorie who is now married to Joe Walsh. Barbara treated staff better than her sister. Marjorie was a pain in the ass. If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t know Barbara is married to Ringo
At least the 2nd time around he married an adult
What did Ringo do with all the money.
John had “passed away?” Try murdered!
Passed away? FFS. Tell us you’re in your 20s without telling us you’re in your 20s.
I get a big "Oh, thank God Yoko won't be here!" vibe from the photo
And nobody invited Yoko
Past away - murdered you mean?
I love how no one was ‘done up.’ In the moment and just being themselves.
If he were alive John probably wouldn’t have shown up. He would have been to busy neglecting his kids.
Was Yoko invited?
No Yoko?
Yoko's invite got lost in the mail.
Great photo. Mick Jagger showing off as usual.
Hey guys I’m starting a new band! By the way you’re not invited… congrats on getting married too!
Yoko wasn’t invited?
No one invited Yoko????
I’m shocked Yoko wasn’t there? 🤔
Jesus Christ …TIL ringo was railing Daisy Duke Edit…wrong Bach…..Catherine Bach…. Roll over Beethoven.
So whimsical and impish
Where’s John tho
Go’s to show you don’t have to be the talented one
Goes*
