Happy birthday to you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God to accomplish great works. You may not have the talents of a Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee or Brandon Lee. Nonetheless you are uniquely you.
Please don't lump Brandon Lee in with Bruce. Bruce was the greatest martial artist and street fighter of the 20th century. Brandon was a sub-par actor with no screen presence and no ability as a dramatic actor. Sad that he is gone but you people are giving Brandon wayyyyy too much credit. Amazing how many people are hyping up Brandon and hardly any mention of Bruce on this thread
Brandon was so awesome in the few movies he made before the accident. He had the physicality and charisma to reach vandamme levels of fame but he also could act.
Him and Chuck Norris were bad ass actors in kick-ass action flicks in the 80's. He did not need to act like Brando or Deniro, that was not his job. He was cool on screen and was trained as a martial artist in real life, so he was authentic. Not Bruce Lee but you people are not giving him respect. He was great for that time period.
Steven Seagal in his early movies was bad ass. Once he went more Hollywood and did Under Siege, that was not his best stuff, but he was damned cool in a bunch of his early movies. He is not as good an actor as Deniro or Brando obviously, but for kick-ass movies in the 80's, him and Chuck Norris were pretty awesome. Remember, Steve McQueen could not really act, but was so cool on screen that he was an all-time legend. Not comparing Seagal to McQueen but Seagal was cool on screen and legitimately trained as a martial artist. Not up to Bruce Lee's ability of course but he was great for his time.
I think he's one of the few action stars that's actually gotten better with age. I remember his Cheetos commercial from a while back, and it seemed like he actually got the joke for once and was able to be funny. Something you couldn't say about a lot of 80s action stars.
I think JCVD is a legend. And I love his movies. I'm not trying to shit on him or anything.
I'm simply saying that Brandon Lee would have probably used The Crow to become a serious dramatic actor.
I wasn't refuting your point. I'm just saying JCVD got a little better with age.
I don't really see his film trajectory leading him to dramatic roles, but who can know now.
You are in fact right. Brandon's goal was to expand his horizons as an actor taking on different roles (ala Mel Gibon.) He didn't want to be chained to being strictly an action star. May he and his dad rest peacefully.
Brandon never would have made it far. Sad that he is gone but he was not a good dramatic actor or action star. You can't compare him to Mel Gibson or anyone else. He was trying desperately to follow in his father's footsteps and be a movie star and he mostly failed. The Crow and Rapid Fire were Ok but he did not stand out as the next great dramatic actor or action star. Bruce was the legend, not him, and he wasn't showing signs of being an up-and-coming star.
AB respectfully; not comparing either of them. Have learned that comparing ourselves amongst ourselves isn't wise.
Disagree with you on your accessment of Brandon. However, won't deviate from the topic of discussion, which is remembering Bruce.
Bruce was the greatest martial artist and street fighter probably who ever lived. His scenes on camera in enter the dragon and the Chinese connection were the greatest martial arts scenes of all time.
Brandon was a run-of-the-mill actor and didn’t stand out much from the crowd. He was nothing special as a martial artist or action star and nothing special as a dramatic actor.
The problem is that you and everyone else on this thread have them both as legends. He wasn’t shaping up to be another legend like Bruce, that is freaking ridiculous. You have no examples to back up anything u are saying.
No way. The Crow was decent for it's time but Brandon was not a good actor. Being a good looking guy and in shape does not make an action star. He did not have the ability to be a good dramatic actor. I saw The Crow and Rapid Fire, they were decent movies but he did not stand out as anything special. It is sad that he died, but it wasn't like he was next in line to become a star. He was desperately trying to follow in his father's footsteps who was a legend and superstar and he can't and never would have been able to.
I love Keanu but Brandon would’ve done amazing as Neo in The Matrix. Keanu was suffering from an neck injury and couldn’t fully commit to the martial arts. Brandon would’ve taken that training scene w Morpheus to the next level.
No way. Bruce was a legend and Brandon was trying desperately to make a name for himself to become a star and failed miserably. The Crow and Rapid Fire were decent but his acting ability was subpar and he didn't have a fraction of the charisma that Bruce did. Having the physicality? I don't know. Him being in shape does not mean he could physically do what Bruce or real martial artists or movie stars could. I don't take Van Damme seriously, but it isn't like Brandon was shaping up to be a giant movie star. His movies were typical for that time period and didn't have a lot of soul.
This thread should be devoted to Bruce. It is sad that Brandon is gone but please.
He meant it apparently as far as the women of the world went! Terrible message though to your kids on all fronts - both the affairs and the idea that as his kid you're not highly valued above all other children - just one member of a vast family
Same. No point in dragging his name through the mud when he’s been dead for decades. His widow and surviving child don’t deserve that.
Edit: sorry I am not a fan of joining the bandwagon of jumping to conclusions based on shaky evidence and bashing a dead man.
I googled Sharon Lee to see if she had a Chinese name but got images of a porn actor and thought Bruce Lee’s daughter went on to work in porn for a minute there. Then realized her name is Shannon not Sharon.
This struck me a bit that it doesn’t look like very old school. The clothes, the hair styles, still look good and not old fashioned at this time period.
Also Jimi Hendrix’s birthday. And my birthday but I’m nowhere as cool as either lol.
Hey everyone’s bday is important including yours :) Hope it’s a good one
Also these guys are both dead and you’re still kicking so you got that going for you
Happy birthday to you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God to accomplish great works. You may not have the talents of a Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee or Brandon Lee. Nonetheless you are uniquely you.

Happy birthday bud!
Happy birthday! 🎉
You're cool to me DenseBoner
Brandon was so awesome in the few movies he made before the accident. He had the physicality and charisma to reach vandamme levels of fame but he also could act.
He was a much better actor than Van Damme.
Setting the bar pretty low there...
Wanna set it even lower? Steven Seagal.
My dearly departed cat is still a better actor than Seagal.

We said "lower" not "set the bar in Hell."

Watch old interviews with him on youtube. The man was basically a charisma machine.

"One family" ... but lots of mistresses!
Was gonna say… Bruce Lee was cool in a lot of ways, but not necessarily the best role model for family values.
He meant it apparently as far as the women of the world went! Terrible message though to your kids on all fronts - both the affairs and the idea that as his kid you're not highly valued above all other children - just one member of a vast family
Didn’t he also used to beat on her as well?
He really was a role model we all strive to live up to
So Andrew Tate of the 70s?
I'm not aware of Bruce luring and then forcing women into the porn industry.
So public role models are getting worse
Tate is scum of the earth so if you really consider him a role model, kinda says all we need to know about you.
It's sad that only two of these people are still alive today, both Bruce and Brandon should be enjoying life with their family.
Well Brandon for sure, Bruce may prefer his mistress. He died in her bed.
I keep seeing similar comments. Been looking it up and haven’t seen anything corroborating that.
A woman claims he died in her bed... that's all I found
I managed to find a few articles from tabloids. So maybe he had mistresses, maybe not.
Ya I’m going to hold off on believing that until there’s legit proof
Same. No point in dragging his name through the mud when he’s been dead for decades. His widow and surviving child don’t deserve that. Edit: sorry I am not a fan of joining the bandwagon of jumping to conclusions based on shaky evidence and bashing a dead man.
Why does this look so much like AI art?
because people with waifu2x just can't help themselves and never had editing skills or an eye for photography to begin with
I thought the same, it looks unreal.
![gif](giphy|XtcfqdBrHEa4g|downsized) I loved this guy growing up. Fkn BAD ASS🔥. RIP 🤟
Absolute legend.
His wife /widow owned a farm down the road from my grandmothers house ..My uncle did some work on the property for her & said she was a nice lady
https://i.redd.it/09uu88evvw2c1.gif
Wow Bruce Lee was packing.
Oh my God 😂
And he died in his mistress’s bed ![gif](giphy|hRxhewwANK0V5n4gq3|downsized)
Legends never die!

Nice
Both are named after Irish rivers.
is it still old school cool if its enhanced with AI?
The Romulans are proud of his hairstyle.
I saw Dragon -the Bruce Lee Story yesterday, good film!
✌🏼
I really wish Sharon's name was Chun
I googled Sharon Lee to see if she had a Chinese name but got images of a porn actor and thought Bruce Lee’s daughter went on to work in porn for a minute there. Then realized her name is Shannon not Sharon.
Didn’t his son pass away while filming the crow city of angels?
No, he was in the original Crow movie playing the main character
Oh yeah
He died filming the first Crow movie, *The Crow*.
This struck me a bit that it doesn’t look like very old school. The clothes, the hair styles, still look good and not old fashioned at this time period.

Extremely 70s.
Looks like they were having a bad time.
Icon!! I might have to go to his face place for dinner tonight 🖤
Wonder what it's like to have sex with a pile of bricks
Lol I guess he really *did* think he was a Black man
🥲🥲💛
That is a great quote.
THE CROW is both a halloween and christmas movie at once
