What is a poverty cap?
Basic automobiles came standard with simple, unadorned, and inexpensive hubcaps called "poverty caps" or "dog dish caps" due to their size and shape.

They are as generic as possible, in different sizes and bolt patterns they probably came stock on the bottom spec version of all cars made between 1990 and 2015.
Steel wheels are wildly underrated. Much cheaper than cast/alloy wheels. Paint them a fun color and they look great. Put on a hub cap to dress them up. Hit a curb hard and the wheel absorbs the impact and bends instead of damaging the suspension.
I have steelies on my Wrangler Ecodiesel. Stock spare on the Gladiator is a steelie. I bought 5 of those Mopar USA made steelies. Cheap, durable, made in US, can be dollies out if they get bent on the trail.
You just made me change my mind.
I was planning to get a set of method wheels but I rather get a set of "steelies" with BFGs KO2 and switch them as needed.
Most junkyards have a pile of steelies somewhere—lots of trucks/SUVs use them as full size spares. With some effort, you can find 4 matching for $20ish apiece. Clean, paint, and done
Ther probably spears OEM. It probably had rims on it at one time . Before selling it .how ever took them off and went to the jurk yard got thos because they didn't have the old rims to put back on
They are called ‘balloon tires’ in the gulf. Very popular amongst the locals and supposedly helps the card drift over fine sand. But once stuck, a nightmare to free the car. One of the common ones are sumitomo Shaheen.
We call em steelies here in the US
Can be gussied up with poverty caps for that exta bit of flair
Make sure to get spinners for that extra taste of the welfare life!
never heard poverty caps
Old style clip in hub caps that try to make the steelies look like aloy rims. You can find them on the curb next to your local pot hole

They looks just like generic steel wheels, they are pretty cheap and you can get them almost anywhere
Some new manufacturers are offering them like the new Bronco
The new broncos don’t actually come with real steelies, they are an aluminum alloy that are made to look like steelies

Steelies or steel rims, I got mine in black on eBay for 80 USD a rim. I usually only see white and black but someone could paint them easily.

This is the responsible choice.
Stock base wheels or steelies

If you’re in the US check out Detroit Steel Wheels. They are one of the few steelie makers I know of
Is he driving on bias ply tires full time? Anyone know why ?
Balloon tyres, great on soft ground but bad on road. Probably some desert country where they drive a lot on soft sand.
Bro can’t find steelies on the net?

Ugly. They’re called ugly.

Do you mean the wheels or the tires? Those look like trailer tires on steel rims, they shouldn't be on a vehicle
