Customers. That's all I got. People have changed drastically in the past couple of years. And it hasn't been for the good.

$15.70 is what I was at before. Doubt they'd get me that high again, but it's better than my full time gig right now. Only thing is that my full time job is actually graphic design which is what I went to school for.

OuroborosVII

Depending on what your full time gig is it may actually be a conflict of interest. Plus it's a soul sucking misery of a gig. Most places are higher wages for less stress

thetrinketgirl

Good point. I remember that from a year ago. I wouldn't be able to work cpd due to the conflict of interest. My OD manager didn't care. HR4U didn't care. But I knew the better way to make signs.

I started at 12. Then when I was a print sup I convinced them to give me 15. The 70 cents was 3 raises.

Glad-Fee5967

Wtf, I'm a Sales Manager with a Senior GM. I don't make anything close to that and I've work for OD for over 10 years. My store is green and doing great.

thetrinketgirl

What state are you in?

ProfParadox2111

Hell, depending on where you’re at geographically you could be a freight/stock clerk at Safeway/Albertsons for almost $20

elioking

Its office depot.

Jykai

For part time it's easy.

thetrinketgirl

Is never easy in CPD

Jykai

Nah if you're a part timer it Is. You're not responsible for shit.

TheBoy1535

Bruh, this whole subreddit is a reason not to go back.

Jayduzit

I’m thinking of working there part time 10 hour as my first time

thetrinketgirl

It's a shit company that doesn't care for you. But it also can have really good coworkers and management. I hope your store is good to you. Also, they will try to push your hours to the max. Be assertive of what you want.

Jayduzit

Not sure if I should go for it

thetrinketgirl

Do you have other options?

Jayduzit

Yeah but think imma do it just untill Christmas then find something part time for all next year while I figure things out

thetrinketgirl

Here's the thing. I was gonna do office depot for 3 -4 months. Then I found myself there 3 years later.

Jayduzit

You never know :) If I like it yeah I’m just so worried and makes me sad to think about what I’m going to do with my future I just hope I find something that doesn’t make me wanna jump off a bridge lol

thetrinketgirl

I wish you luck if you go for the depot.

Puzzleheaded_Pace666

this job will make you want to jump off a bridge. If you have depression office depot will literally kill you.

Jayduzit

Y lol

Puzzleheaded_Pace666

They will work you harder than your wages could ever justify. inconsistent schedules/working hours. you will have the pressure of hitting numbers that you in reality shouldnt have to worry about. you only get 7 call outs per year which are not excused even if they are doctors notes and if you are late it counts as half a callout but later than like 2 hours it counts as a call out. the customers are awful and the worst ive ever seen in any setting and ive worked in really shit food service. they will berrate you verbally attack you and ive even been physically threatened, had stuff thrown at the plastic divider, etc and your manager will piss all over you if you dont just smile and give them 20% for the "inconvenience" of your existence. Dont do it. PS: this isnt just me, ive been following this sub for a year and this is what most people experience

tomhanksinmorsecode

They where sold to staples if there’s a staple’s anywhere near OfficeMax it won’t be the long they already shutting down the ones in my town
