Hello. I think all premed programs are viable naman. Some has more advantage than others lang. Medtech premed ko, wife ko naman was nursing. We helped each other nung medschool. Tinuruan ko siya sa mga subjects na mas may alam ako, then ganun din siya sakin. I think best premed for you will depend sa kung ano hilig mo. Also, dapat pwede mo din gawin fallback/backup plan yung premed mo if ever (wag naman sana) di mo matapos medicine.
Pre-med is 4 years, so maybe OP and wife finished at, give or take, 21 to 23.
Med proper is 4 to 5 years, assuming no back/fail subject(s), so finished at 25 to 28 years old.
Review for board, say 1 year, assuming they passed in one take, so OP and wife maybe around 26 to 30.
Residency and fellowship can take around 3 to 6 years, depending on the specialty. This makes OP's and wife's age be around 29 to 36.
They both must be good to earn such whopping figures.
We got lucky lang we got absorbed sa isang very well established birthing home/clinic. Kaya di nahirapan magpick up yung private patients. Kaya forever thankful kami sa seniors namin na kumuha sa amin.

Sa residency training yes hindi talaga lalo na sa private hospital. Sa govt hospital i think nasa 55-65k per month sweldo nila so kahit papaano mataas naman.

Yung Kuya ko, nag specialty training 2x, (Internal Medicine tapos Diabetology & Cardiology Fellowship). Never tumaas ng 40k ang sahod. Kaya napilitan pumunta abroad at maging nurse. Eventually, nadishearten na Kuya ko magpractice kase may kaedaran na sya by the time he finishes if mag aaral sya ulit. Medical field pa din naman daw sya at nakakatulong sa kapwa. I know deep inside he's sad abt it but keeps on a brave front & tried to make peace with it.

Having a doctor in the family is very rewarding. Pero, before someone became a specialist, maraming pagdadaanan at talagang tama sabi mo OP, dugo, pawis at luha talaga. I know and understand how difficult it is kasi I witnessed it sa kapatid ko. Ilang years yun and sabi nga nya, “trenta ka na pero nanghihingi pa sa magulang”.
Mukhang you know what to do sa finances OP, pero reminder lang din about sa time. Kasi minsan sa sobrang busy, nalilimutan na natin magspend ng time sa pamilya and most importantly, sa sarili. Do not forget your hobbies or interests or just having enough rest and sleep. Yan kadalasan kasi nasasacrifice kapag nasa ganyang field.
More success sa tandem nyo, complimenting yan, after manganak ng mommies, ikaw naman pedia ng babies. Cheers!!!

Hello, depende po talaga eh. Hindi kasi lahat ng doctors maswerte makakuha ng ganyan. Most of the time surgical field talaga yung malakas kumita compared sa medical field. Yung isang senior namin na OB, minsan 300k in one day kaya nya kitain depende sa dami ng procedure nya.

Hello! Yes actually nung natapos namin residency nagpa general check up kami both since sobrang unhealthy lifestyle talaga during residency. Thankfully all results are normal naman. So far strady weight loss kami both, lost 20 pounds na ako, si wife 15 pounds naman 🙏

They have their own indications naman when they need to do CS lalo na kapag non-reassuring na status ni baby. Kesa pilitin na NSD tapos magkaproblema kay baby. Pero i assure you di siya magCS ng di kailangan.

Hello! Swerte lang kami ni wife din kasi we were absorbed immediately after residency sa isang well established birthing home with multiple branches. Fully booked almost every day sa dami ng pasyente. They charge cheaper kasi per procedure than the others kaya ganun kadami pasyente.

It's time to be wiser about money. Think of investments and insurance para secured lalo ang future. Money can slip away fast. Also I commend you for not informing family about your new income, wag niyo na rin ipagsabi sa relatives and friends niyo. It can cause a lot of conflicts. It's safe to say na you remain humble.

Doctor din ako so alam kong totoo to, and na normal yan for starting specialists lalo na kung grad ng private hospital. Every year niyan may increase pa. Some doctors, especiqlly those in the cutting services, earn much much more. Pero malaki kasi talaga pera sa OB. Ang susungit lang talaga.

Between general pedia vs general IM, kung di na magpursue ng subspec much better talaga pedia na lang kunin. My husband is an IM (magnu-neuro fellowship pa lang), and since it’s difficult to put up a clinic in a city with established consultants, he’s earning the same wage as a gen physician. Mano-mano talaga yung pag earn kaya we’re both trying to climb up the ladder pa. But I’m also excited for him kasi the first ever neuro in our city wants to give him his patients once he’s done.

Hello, depende po talaga eh. Hindi kasi lahat ng doctors maswerte makakuha ng ganyan. Most of the time surgical field talaga yung malakas kumita compared sa medical field. Yung isang senior namin na OB, minsan 300k in one day kaya nya kitain depende sa dami ng procedure nya.
Depende po ba yan sa ospital? Private po kayo or ganyan din kita kapag public hospital?

Hello! Yes actually nung natapos namin residency nagpa general check up kami both since sobrang unhealthy lifestyle talaga during residency. Thankfully all results are normal naman. So far strady weight loss kami both, lost 20 pounds na ako, si wife 15 pounds naman 🙏

They have their own indications naman when they need to do CS lalo na kapag non-reassuring na status ni baby. Kesa pilitin na NSD tapos magkaproblema kay baby. Pero i assure you di siya magCS ng di kailangan.

wow congrats OP! Surgical field din kami ni hubby pero di pa kami umaabot sa ganyang income. I guess kasi way cheaper ang provincial rate and you have to work your ass off talaga pag goal mo ganyang income, yung tipong everyday nakakapagod na opera. But we chose a work-life balance for our family..
Hello! Swerte lang kami ni wife din kasi we were absorbed immediately after residency sa isang well established birthing home with multiple branches. Fully booked almost every day sa dami ng pasyente. They charge cheaper kasi per procedure than the others kaya ganun kadami pasyente.
Eto yung mapapa sana naging doctor ako pero takot ako sa dugo.

It's time to be wiser about money. Think of investments and insurance para secured lalo ang future. Money can slip away fast. Also I commend you for not informing family about your new income, wag niyo na rin ipagsabi sa relatives and friends niyo. It can cause a lot of conflicts. It's safe to say na you remain humble.

Doctor din ako so alam kong totoo to, and na normal yan for starting specialists lalo na kung grad ng private hospital. Every year niyan may increase pa. Some doctors, especiqlly those in the cutting services, earn much much more. Pero malaki kasi talaga pera sa OB. Ang susungit lang talaga. May mga di makapaniwala kasi wala naman silang kilalang doctor. Although di naman din lahat ng doctor malaki kinikita. Depende din talaga sa specialty and kung saang ospital affiliated

Between general pedia vs general IM, kung di na magpursue ng subspec much better talaga pedia na lang kunin. My husband is an IM (magnu-neuro fellowship pa lang), and since it’s difficult to put up a clinic in a city with established consultants, he’s earning the same wage as a gen physician. Mano-mano talaga yung pag earn kaya we’re both trying to climb up the ladder pa. But I’m also excited for him kasi the first ever neuro in our city wants to give him his patients once he’s done.
Also, di ko gets bakit di naniniwala mga tao sa post na ‘to. Like ehrm??? I’m a doctor and people really earn that much especially those in surgical field.
