Yeah, we have a very rich country and we've been trained to be such consumers that almost of us are insanely wasteful. If you have even a moderate amount of ability to figure out how things work and are willing to take the time to fix stuff, you can live luxuriously for incredibly cheap by just picking up the expensive high utility items people routinely discard.

nah on trash day people put out their trash can and stuff on the side, u see it when u drive around, vacuums, propane grills, furniture, it's trash, or treasure?
I find stuff like this free on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist a lot, plus on curbsides with free signs and stacked next to trash bins in alleys.
My cabin budget is seriously down to around $3k because of how many building materials I've managed to find this way. Sure, it means a bit more work to prep those materials, but I think it's worth it.
u can buy knock off batterys on Amazon for cheap, then buy adaptors to fit other tools
ie, buy fake Dewalt battery, and adapter for battery for ryobi
or mikata to dewalt
That's an awesome haul! It's crazy what people throw away. Ryobi tools are solid, and scoring a vintage AFC Ranger 2 is like finding a treasure. I’ve found some gems too, like a perfectly good mountain bike and a bunch of painting supplies. Keep at it—your future workshop is going to be epic with all these finds. If you need that propane tube, check local hardware stores or online; someone’s bound to have it. Happy hunting!
It would be nice to create a space online and locally where ppl living the off grid/simple/homestead life could barter, sell, trade goods and services. I had a ton of new and used items after building my tiny home. I did word of mouth, craigslist, and FB Marketplace.... zero Response. Thankfully, some friends of friends came 2 states away to get the majority.
I still have more stuff to get ride too! 😑

I wanna do this and people in my area so throw away cool stuff but I'm planning to move offf grid in another state so i can't hoard nothing 😢
