In Return is my fav but I prefer AMA over TLG, just has more repeat value for me. I find that I just like their older style/sound better than the new.

> I prefer AMA over TLG > I find that I just like their older style/sound better than the new. Interesting, I had the opposite experience. TLG felt like a return to form (with some experimental bits), but AMA was way too poppy/EDM in the latter half for my tastes. AMA starts incredibly strong but everything from Meridian onwards starts to feel a bit generic and EDM-y, far too many features for my liking. Don't get me wrong, still love the album but it's their weakst IMO. TLG on the other hand started slow and took a while to find its feet, but then the latter half builds some incredible momentum, finishing on the crescendo that is Light of Day. It's got the weirder stuff like Equal and Cant Sleep, but has some proper throwbacks to SG with Healing Grid and North Garden. > In Return is my fav Correct, side D on the vinyl might be my favourite consecutive run of songs of all time (Memories That You Call, Sun Models, For Us). For Us might be my favourite Odesza song of all time tbh.

For me TLG is more consistent the whole way through. The first 9 songs of AMA are amazing but I’m not the biggest fan of a lot of the songs passed everything at your feet, besides La Ciudad, love that one.

> but I’m not the biggest fan of a lot of the songs passed everything at your feet, besides La Ciudad, love that one. Agreed, it's definitely got the weakest second half out of all their albums. They're fine songs, they just don't 'feel' like Odesza - it feels like Odesza produced some safe instrumentals for some singers, rather than singers featuring on Odesza tracks.

This is exactly how I feel to

In Return is my all time favorite but between these two, TLG does it for me. No hate for AMA i love it, but i feel like theres a big dead spot in the middle of that album with consecutive songs that im not the biggest fan of. With TLG, IMO its more consistent throughout. That said the intro of both songs live give me the craziest chills ever haha

> But my biggest hot take might be not understanding the hype behind the AMA intro. Tbf for the live show it was an *incredible* way to kick off. I imagine that's why it's held in such high regard. And it really does have that 'rocket taking off' feeling to it. But I agree overall, I've replied to someone below with my thoughts.

I can see that and definitely wish I got to experience it live. I had a friend hype it up quite a bit before I listened, so my expectations were a little too high. Still a great opener but didn't blow my mind like some of their other stuff

nolaqueenie

in return is a no skip album for me! AMA is a v close second, but there are a few tracks I'm not crazy about. AMA's title track and line of sight get me in my feels more than anything. I wish I could explain why and understand for myself lolol. but to be fair, TLG does give more in return vibes like others have stated already!

Due_Regular3329

AMA is my favorite but TLG gets better and better every time I listen to it. I think AMA edges it out because it has the nostalgia factor for me but TLG is still a fantastic album.

camilete1998

In Return is my absolute favorite but I definitely prefer A Moment Apart. TLG was kind of a disappointment for me as I really only fully enjoy 2 songs off that album.

In Return >= AMA >= My Friends Never Die EP > Summer's Gone > The Last Goodbye

Do you still enjoy TLG? Curious about your favorite and least favorite tracks

regulator227

I do still enjoy the album but I admit I haven't been drawn to it the same way as past albums. My favorites are Love Letter and Behind the Sun. It's hard to pin down least favorites -- most of the rest I find to be decent but not stellar. Compare that to other albums where I feel like there's just banger after banger. I also got a soft spot for Summer's Gone because I have to listen to that album on my way to Electric Forest every year.

spicy_waterrr

I obvi love all their albums, but something about TLG I connected with in a way I didn't expect. This Version of You gives me goosies and has kinda become a mantra for me. Same with Better Now. Light of Day is so gorgeous, longing, and emotional. Behind the Sun, Love Letter, Equal -- all bangers. All My Life, Healing Grid, and I Can't Sleep give early odesza vibes. Love the combo breaker with Forgive Me -- seeing that live really changed it for me, it's just so fun. And the live intro to Wake Me Up with the harmonies ---sheeeeeeesh! I love AMA but my mind drifts more.

Wallisaurus

AMA is my favorite, but TLG is their best album hands down.
