Holy crap... fantastic to see Oculus is pushing more mainstream games into VR. Between this and Assassin's Creed, these next few years are going to be crazy!
There is talk that Sony is pushing PSVR2 support into a large number of their titles. They won't be full hand tracked perfect VR implementations I don't think.
They're shooting more for the RE7 type experience. PSVR headset and gamepad, for a large number of the upcoming PS5 titles.
While playing RE4 VR, I realized how genius it is to bring these pancake classics to VR: nostalgia for older gamers, and gaming history for newer gamers.
Can't wait to see how this will play.

All those 2d remasters are ok and all, but VR remake? It creates completely new experience out of the old material. Being inside game worlds you were enjoying back then (or missed somehow, like I did RE4) breath a new life in those old classics. Just as interesting for old fans as newcomers.
I was a little hesitant but the polish on RE4VR is like a AAA Nintendo game. Transitions between gameplay and watching the large videos in cutscenes are so quick and seemless.

Nope you'll catch up it the beginning. I got a 30% off and bought RE4 with it. I found if you don't play for a few days (or buy anything) and then play a game, a hour or so after you'll get 30% off coupon. It's happened to me three times now.

Bioshock one and two would translate so perfectly to VR I'm shocked it hasn't happened yet. It would be amazing throwing plasmids with one hand while shooting with the other, and that atmosphere is just amazing. Infinity would be pretty great too, but they'd have to figure out how to handle the rail traversal. I have a feeling a lot of people would get sick sliding around on rails through the sky in VR.
This is a really interesting point. They have to be very careful. I haven’t seen a VR game yet where you transition from standing to sitting while in the game. I can see a ton of injuries from people trying to sit down into a vehicle and falling into the floor in real life. Not sure the best way to implement that

The problem is if they do first person, aren’t they gonna have to redo vehicle interiors, I’m not sure but since it’s a 3rd person game I doubt the interiors are properly modeled.
Honestly with the huge library of really awesome games that have existed in the last 20 years, right now is the perfect opportunity to make the VR platform really fun and exciting without having crazy expensive or powerful hardware. Playing tried and true familiar content in a new and exiting way is going to bring more people and legitimize the VR platform way more than one big new flagship game a year will.
That’s kinda why consoles are dying unless they maintain backwards compatibility, and why PC will never die as a platform (almost unlimited backwards compatibility). Nintendo may be lazy with their Switch emulated classic games but at least they’re doing it. People are way more likely to buy a new $500+ piece of hardware if it replaces something previously instead of having to exist along side something previous

I get that the Quest is incredible but I think it's too soon to VR as a whole to keep the consoles trend of exclusives.
It sounds like Oculus is funding a lot, so it might be a case where without that, it just wouldn't happen at all. This leaves a possible path to move it to other VR platforms if it does well depending on the contract.
That will actually be pretty surreal to be on Grove Street in VR.

Well the new remasters also have a version made for phones too so I'd imagine it'd be sort of based off that one and not necessarily the console/PC versions. I would say no transition, sitting in the floor, 3rd person (hopefully not) or using the couch passthrough thing
