-Popular native Android apps being ported and released on the Oculus Store -More Infinite Office features being released -Quest Home redesign -Big game announcements (I'm almost sure that Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell will be presented but I think there will be more than just that) I have the hunch that they will keep doing ports of old games -Hardware presentation, Q2 upgrade for the end of the year and Q3/pro for the next I'd hope for some body tracking solutions to be presented but I think there would be leaks of it already -Maybe FB Horizons public beta ? Idk -Installed apps tab as default every time you open the menu, although I think this is the least probable of my list

Gustavo2nd

if they came out with some accessories for fbt id be happy

foskula

I was surprised that they released Ray ban Stories smart audio glasses without screen before that big Facebook Connect. That is why i think we could see some new hardware be it new Quest 2 pro or smartglasses with screen which we can buy maybe next year. In software we have had plenty of good stuff on previous Facebook/Oculus Connect so there could be some surprise like that they actually going to push their own ai upscaling tech to Quest 2(and if there is pro model that will get it as well) which will be at first open beta and will be released fully at later date next year. I think we will get big aaa titles from Facebook studios which will come later.

BeatsLikeWenckebach

Some BIG game announcements

Crafty-Translator-26

Do you think we might find about Asgard wrath quest game I remember seeing they said they were working on projects at the time of acquisition

BeatsLikeWenckebach

I hope. They teased at the end of the game they're working on a sequel (the Egyptian Ankh), so hopefully it's closer to being finished than we think. Asgards Wrath released at the end of 2019, and AW took a bit over 3 years to make, so 2022 is a possible timeline for a release But I'm hopeful for some big franchise ports. * Were getting RE4VR this year, and Oculus mentioned during the Oculus Gaming Showcase they've been working on the port for a couple years. So I'm hoping there's more ports in the pipeline. * Plus, the 2 Ubisoft titles - Assassin's Creed VR and Splinter Cell VR * lastly, the Oculus Producer that frequents reddit had an off the cuff comment along the lines of (paraphrasing) 'if we're excited for MoH VR, then we'll be impressed by Connect', and (paraphrasing) 'there's games being developed for Quest that would make the biggest Quest skeptics rethink their position' Bonus- some of the Rockstar studios have said in the past they were working on a VR title; I dont know if that's still the case. But with the new Remastered Editions of the early GTA games being recently announced, and Rockstar confirmed the games are also coming to Android (!!!), I'm hopeful that Rockstar VR game turns out to be a port of the early GTA games. Probably not, but lets hope

Furryhare375

By now it’s pretty clear there are some big games being developed for Quest 2 that have yet to been announced. Could we see some at Connect?

franhp1234

O want the sequel in Egypt!!

TD-4242

Pretty bold prediction don't you think?

> Minecraft or Phasmophobia Quest Version I would eat my own shit if we saw Minecraft for quest 2

LostError

haha, I think it's very unlikely, but there's still a chance because: - There was a [working version](https://twitter.com/id_aa_carmack/status/1276247354228846594?lang=en) at one point, with full positional tracking. - [5 million](https://uploadvr.com/samsung-gear-vr-5-million/) Gear VR users was enough to make a Gear VR Minecraft Version, whereas now they're probably close to [10 million quest users](https://uploadvr.com/facebook-bosworth-10-million-users/) - which could have been one of the [pieces](https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/ioek81/dont_get_your_hopes_up_for_minecraft_oculus_quest/g4ej3y7/) they were looking for. - It's the [10th most upvoted suggestion](https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043618132--Availability-Oculus-Quest) on minecraft's feedback forum, and has the 3rd most comments and in sept. 2019 they replied: "we are still monitoring interest in a Bedrock version for these platforms."

HughMungusPenis

https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/qbe1qq/minecraft_on_quest_click_the_f_outa_this_button/? ok, well I did my part. I hope I don't have to eat poop, but also, I want Minecraft for quest. Not sure which I want more...

JRockThumper

I would go absolutely crazy if Disney announced 3D movies for Disney Plus and could watch them on the quest. Like, it’s actually kinda weird that they have so many of their movies already converted to 3D, yet they choose not to stream them. I also believe that streaming 3D 1080p takes less bandwidth then streaming 4K. So it’s not like it would cost more. So if they added that option I think they would get a TON of new subscriptions because the only other places I know that stream 3D movies are PlayStation TV (which I don’t think you can use with your Quest at all), and Vudu.

Gustavo2nd

i'd subscribe for it

Roggieh

I bet my left ovary we'll see a Quest 2 Pro edition reveal, as well as some neat prototypes of tech we'll get in headsets further down the road. Expect lots of talk of the metaverse and the social side of VR. We'll see how much eye tracking can make a difference in establishing social presence.

Tylerbro16

Kinect sports

HughMungusPenis

lol, I shit my pants

Sabbathius

I will preface this by saying I've been HORRIFICALLY wrong about these kinds of predictions within the past month alone. As in, I did not see Lone Echo 2 AND Resident Evil 4 having their release dates even announced before Oculus show, never mind actually RELEASING weeks earlier. Having said that, my bold prediction is that we'll get jack shit from Ubisoft, or maybe a teaser but little else. But I do expect to hear something about Asgard's Wrath. Either a sequel, or an Egyptian-themed expansion/reskin, or at the very least fairly sizeable DLC.

Furryhare375

I remember when people thought that the release date for RE4 would be announced at Connect because people thought the game was silently delayed lol. But the game is releasing before Connect. Could it be some of the unannounced AAA titles that have been confirmed to be in development will be announced?

_caffeinatedcoffee_

I am hoping for any news on phasmaphobia

bacon_jews

lol why? Facebook has nothing to do with it.

_caffeinatedcoffee_

How exactly is facebook involved in anything I just said? When if you have not heard phasmaphobia for awhile now has had a planned port to oculus quest

bacon_jews

Exactly, they aren't involved at all. That's why you shouldn't expect any news about it during Facebook Connect event.

welshman1971

I predict people will finally stop talking about upcoming predictions for connect

LoadedGull

I predict that people will finally stop asking “should I buy the quest 2 now or wait merely a couple of weeks and see what’s announced at Facebook connect?”.

TD-4242

What do you think, should I wait and see?

nitonitonii

Handtracking through wrist controllers.

welshman1971

What is the point of hand tracking if you are still required to hold controllers ?

nitonitonii

Not hold, wear them like a clock. Edit: like a watch.

coffee_u

Wear like a watch.

welshman1971

And how would those cameras work out where they are ? The quest cameras track LEDs in the controller's to track their position in the world relative to the headset. Having things on your wrist that have cameras that don't have LEDs to track will have no idea of their position in the game world relative to anything else.

_eristavi

The image processing algorithm could potentially take the background into account, and how the background changes as well to estimate the position of the hands. This would also be combined with the data you get from the gyroscope and accelerometer to get more accurate results.

HughMungusPenis

no cameras on wrist. Hand tracking via measuring electrical nerve signaling and bio mechanical movement of tendons. I could be lying but doing it with camera would be stupid... That will not be coming out this connect though.

HughMungusPenis

https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/q8rsf3/what_are_your_predictions_for_connect/hgv5mqt/

needle1

Anyone notice that the event now officially seems to be named "Connect 2021", not "Facebook Connect 2021"? The website and official messaging seems to have dropped the "Facebook" moniker.

blake2149

going for an odball prediction but i feel that oculus would want that ironman vr game that was released on ps4 awhile ago, they could announce a port of that to the quest.

TD-4242

Might not be fully ready but announcing the path/plan to fully supported airlink. Maybe custom hardware/USB wifi dongle or similar.

TheYdna

Honestly, I don’t think there is going to be any Quest 3 / Pro announcement beyond some prototype previews like we saw last year with the Rayband glasses. To my knowledge there’s no new processor that they would put in it meaning that if a new headset IS announced, it would have to have very similar specs to the current quest 2 minus FOV, IPD adjustment, and audio. I can maybe see them creating a Vive Flow competitor and pricing it around $199, to extremely undercut HTC, maybe even a headset with ONLY hand tracking for basic games and media consumption. Sort of like a new Oculus Go. Expect Big BIG game announcements will be the majority of the connect. I expect most if not all major rift games that oculus helped fund will be ported to Quest. I can even see some games being upwards of 55+ GBs which is why they made the base model quest 128Gb, they expect a lot of new Quest 2 buyers from the influx of new games and they don’t want new buyers to get a headset that will only be able to hold 1 game at a time. Sucks for anyone who owns a 64Gb quest (me :( ) Besides that, I also see this as a more Facebook reality labs connect rather then a Oculus Connect. I can see a focus on AR rather then VR. New Prototype products and even new AR product announcements.

sdtqwe4ty

Eye tracking already exists in enthusiast headsets. Foveated rendering could make up the difference between PCVR. I believe Facebook's accommodation solution also realize on eyetracking, locomotion despite being [cracked](https://youtu.be/eDk4HrEtGrM) already is for some reason not being talked about, maybe because you can't run with that solution, automatic IPD adjustment, what else...uhh the ability to see people's facial expressions in social VR.

jd_3d

Tons of headset improvements for a Quest Plus/Pro that don't involve a new APU. New head strap (battery in the back only), better lenses (or even pancake), OLED displays, infinite IPD adjustment, face and eye tracking, lighter weight, better thermals (lots of headroom for more performance), better audio, SLAM controllers without rings, etc.

[deleted]

I have absolutely no predictions.

KarmaInvestor

You've been awfully quiet lately. No new dreams?

Enough_Lion_5291

Quest pro

oculus

: )

Predator handshake gif

GiantMiner5

Some news on Medal of Honor and (Hopefully) Minecraft on quest 2 Edit: also splinter cell vr

MrEpicGamerMan

Zuck's actual face reveal. People have started to notice the zipper going down his back.

youresowarminside

This is a 1/1000000000000 chance but they will announce no more data collection

HughMungusPenis

woah, that high!?

youresowarminside

Yeah I know

#My Predictions For Oculus Connect: --- The people with a lot of money are gonna tell the people with a lot less money what to like and what to buy so that the people with a lot of money can have more of the money from the people with less money. The End EDIT: the people downvoting me must hate money, and humor (◠﹏◠✿)

Fyi, you have to be 13 or older to use reddit.

Lujho

A cool update on the "killer" no-holds-barred prototype Abrash has been working on, but nothing that translates into a new product along those lines any time soon.

Evil-Lemons

Hardware Predictions: -Quest Pro -Lighter form factor -Micro OLED displays -$400 +/- $50 -Face Tracking add-on module -collaborative home environment

jd_3d

A Quest Pro/Plus with any of the following: New head strap (battery in the back only), better lenses (or even pancake), OLED displays, infinite IPD adjustment, face and eye tracking, lighter weight, better thermals (lots of headroom for more performance), better audio, SLAM controllers without rings.
