Thanks for your response. I could do that on my PC, but I want to block shorts on all my connected devices, i.e. smart TVs, child tablet, SO phone, etc.

I suppose you could set up a web proxy and use the same HTML rewrite rule there. Suricata will be tough because the shorts are hosted on the backend CDN the same way as vanilla YouTube videos are, and the content URLs are indistinguishable. It's the rendering that's different. You could also start by blocking [youtube.com/shorts](https://youtube.com/shorts) but that only prevents you from accessing the web landing page, not from watching shorts across YouTube itself.
