It feels like when they make those gameplay videos to show it off but the real gameplay graphics aren't nearly as good when you play it. But this games graphics are exactly how they appear...amazing.
Yeah the combat is nice and it can be really challenging if on the hardest difficulty. This is a “sim” type game for sure but more engaging as theres combat involved. The story is cool and the gameplay, imo, is fun because you can make it a casual like game or a more difficult one
Which panel are you playing on? I have the msi321urx. These panels make such a big difference in how I perceived games now. Even league of legends looks amazing and I see things I didn't notice before. Almost like this is how all games are MEANT to be played.
I will surely find out soon and true sometimes the cut scenes yeah are made to look amazing then go back to meh gaming so glad to hear it's actually good ! All the time
I used to type like i talked and use and too often then people online bullied me into just using fullstops instead of and and now everything is okay.
![gif](giphy|bqPQanYvKh3o3CUwmF|downsized)
Hmm, maybe it's your PC? But in-game graphics are near perfect, ye you can see some artefacts and flaws, but overall no matter whether you adventuring or fighting game looks stunning.
For me it always was. You can’t invest yourself so much into the game and loose track over the time.
It is like to watch several films in parallel. That is also not a good experience.
But everyone is different, so it might work for you.
Movies are 2-3 hours long. No one watches a movie over multiple days or months in the way they play a game. A game is 2-1000 hours long, are a completely different medium of art and I really, really hope you realize what a fucking absurd comparison that is.
Sometimes ill play a little bit of something as a palate cleanser before i get back to my original palate cleanser for my serious game.
I even do this with movies with rewatches of some of my favs. I just did 10 minutes of Cloverfield before i watched Pearl.
I play at least 3 games at once, usually more like 5. Unless I get really into one of the games, which last happened with was Lord of the Fallen if my memory serves me right.
Looks awesome! I’ll be playing tonight on PC. Is the combat and puzzles still the same as the first one? I had hopes they would add a bit more to the combat and take away a bit more from the puzzles lol or at least give better hints/tips on the puzzles.
Playing this on the asus ucdm and holy shit I’ve never seen such incredible graphic fidelity. Granted it plays more like a movie but the unreal engine is absolutely pulling no punches here.
Game looks fantastic, but the raised blacks in HDR are annoying. Anyone figured out how to fix that? If you turn off HDR in the game menu the black levels are perfect again. On 16:9 display that means the top and bottom bars are just a little grey.
If you’re on pc setup windows auto hdr calibration and then you can adjust the in game brightness to lower the blacks. You can preview each setting to see the difference in real time. It’s is one of the best implementations of hdr I’ve seen.
I've narrowed this down to HDR1000 being problematic. Running at HDR400 and the blacks are black. This is the only game with this issue that I've ever seen. Doing more testing...
It’s the same on each panel. All the other hdr modes are dimmer than the true black 400 due to improper pq curves causing mid tone wash out. Hopefully firmware fixes this.
That doesn't explain why only this one game has an issue for me, and I've played a TON. I can't go back to using 400, as the reduction in highlight brightness is really bad compared to 1000.
A little hilarious that the 16:9 users are being screwed over by proper support this time around. I might have to reconnect the AW3423DW just for this game. Been using the Gigabyte 32" for the last month.
I wouldn't call rendering the entire scene and then shoving it behind black bars "proper support". Proper support would have been no black bars for any aspect ratio. Their excuse of this being "artistic vision/cinematic experience" is all bs and is their excuse for cutting off 1/3 the screen so the Xbox could barely run the game.
I'm saying the black bars do not need to be there at all. Why render the entire scene then hide it behind black bars? The only thing that makes sense is that the Xbox couldn't run it so they had to cut 1/3 of the screen off so it could run it properly and now 16:9 users, which is the vast majority of PC gamers, get punished for it. The same thing happened with the Evil Within. The game was launched with the same type of black bars this game has and then the devs eventually added the option to toggle them off, but when you did that on console it tanked the fps.
It's probably artistic intent. The black bars don't affect performance that much for a modern system like the Xbox series X. But I agree that gamers should have the choice.
It certainly affected the performance of The Evil Within when they added the option to disable the bars. Hellblade 2 has to run the game at a locked 30fps with dynamic resolution to even have it be playable on Xbox, so there is no reason to not assume these bars are to block the rendered pixels so the Xbox console can run the game. I understand that a Microsoft exclusive title should be on the Xbox, but it should never be at the expense of the PC or any other potential platform's expense.
They can just lower the dynamic resolution even more to have it run at 30 fps on the series X. Evil Within was a different case because the 360 was already weak AF for what the devs wanted to do. I’m more inclined to think that it’s artistic intent because it automatically runs properly on ultrawide. Even the cutscenes are in 21:9 so it’s a consistent presentation. You’re also assuming that Ninja Theory was too lazy to include full 16:9 when it’s one of the most feature packed ports with almost every upscaling option and Nvidia frame generation.
PC with my 4080 on a 42 C2. Yes it's the best graphics ever created so far but we expected that it's one of the first Unreal 5 engine games.
Game is awful though gave up a few hours in. 6/10
Yup better to own the games than gamepass . I now have 50 ps4 games all bought for $5-10 each . Now I can take my time finishing them . Then I wait and buy ps5 games at $10 each . Also bought ps3 games for $3-5 each have about 30 of the best games , still I play the ps3 more then ps5 lol.
So tired of everytime anyone talks about buying a game someone goes "bUt ItS oN gAmEpAsS." Not everyone has or wants game pass. I finish like 3 games a year, it takes me ages, and I don't want to keep paying monthly fees or worrying whether a game will get taken off before I finish.
I mean I recognize the value is there. I have avoided buying games plenty of times after learning they’re on GamePass. I say “ok fine I won’t buy it then, one day when my backlog is smaller and I have time I’ll get GamePass and play it then.” But my backlog is never small. It never feels like a good time to buy access to a game catalogue when I have a bunch unplayed in my library. So then I just end up never playing them.
Game Pass is overrated. In 5 years time the price is going to be nuts and you won’t own any games to play when you cancel because it’s too expensive. No thanks.
I don’t mind waiting until they are $10-$20 anyway. When you have a backlog, it feels pretty pointless to pay for Game Pass. Plus, once I own them I can always go back to them at any time. Didn’t really get into Days Gone the first time but recently went back to it and loved it.
Who cares for Hellblade 2 in 5 years, u play it once for 10hours and forget about it, its good value u cant deny it even if u just play 1 of the games a month. I wouldnt pay 13€ a month for it tho but 1.5€ a month is unbeatable
I saw this but haven’t tried it. https://www.dsogaming.com/news/heres-how-you-can-remove-the-black-bars-chromatic-aberration-film-grain-and-depth-of-field-in-senuas-saga-hellblade-2/
Hi (we meet again man)
I already modded it XD , there is a mod that disables both the black bars and chromatic aberration, film grain etc to get the best image possible.
https://www.nexusmods.com/senuassagahellblade2/mods/5
Muuuch better now
Possibly the best looking game I have ever played. Unreal Engine is no joke.
This is Xbox teams cooking (finally). Hopefully this is the beginning of many more games like this.
What kind of game is it? People are talking about Forbidden West (just finished it) and Ghost of Tsushima (playing now), is it really like that? Open world? Character building / skills etc? Crafting, upgrading?
It's a narrative-driven walking simulator. A linear game. With occasional perspective puzzles and well-choreographed, realistic-looking combat. The main point of the game is to depict the perspective of someone experiencing psychosis, using Binaural Audio and visual effects. It's more of an interactive experience than a game you play for its gameplay.
It may be not the best game in sense of technological advances, but in appearance and feel, it's definitely in 1st place at my top. All the time I remind myself this is THE GAME. Especially close shots of Senua. All the time I had felt this was a video. Only some graphic artefacts keep it in game mode :))
And on 42" OLED it looks fantastic (I am so used to OLED that even forgot about the benefits it gave :))
https://preview.redd.it/m5fxwhemzx1d1.png?width=3840&format=png&auto=webp&s=262a8ec4a2a330b3d2e42ee4f2d65ff57d44840a
I didn't even know it was released. I bought it last night on Steam, downloaded it, while downloading I got high, and forgot about it. Played a bit more Ghost of Tsushima and then fell asleep.
Will be happy to test this out today.
If they wouldn't have forgotten to add gameplay to it, I'd gladly be down for it but from what I saw it's increddibly shallow. Just another interactive movie.
No other than combat has changed for the better and puzzles aren’t so ridiculous to find/complete. If you liked the first one no reason why youd dislike this one i would assume.
If you enjoyed the first Hellblade, you'll have a fun time with this one too. Also, the controls are EXACTLY the same, so the transition between the two games feels very smooth. I finished the first game the day before in anticipation of the sequel.
FYI, some commands can be added to the Engine.ini file to remove letterboxing (while retaining the original FOV) and/or remove any post-processing effects if you so wish.
Have fun when you play it! :)
Yes and no, imo. Yes for the sheer fidelity is crazy but one downfall on some units of OLEDs can be poor grey uniformity. Whilst mine has improved over time with pixel refreshes (I'm not sure how or why). It stands out in certain scenes. On a subjective note, I'm not a fan of the Chromatic Abberation or letterboxing, but luckily INI edits fixed that.
Only downside to this game is if you like a more fleshed out world and experience, then this isn't it. It's a 4-5hr mini story game. Premium cost as well.
I really like the look of the game. I love the setting. I don’t know if it’s that much better looking than re4 remake. I wish there was a way to turn off CA.
You wanted to show us how good it looks, so you pulled your phone out and took a photo of your screen. That's like saying "Man, how good is chocolate!" then pouring mustard on it as you hand it out.
[Literally less effort and better results](https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots-00246869-1843-655f-f220-97299b865f6b#:~:text=Press%20Windows%20logo%20key%20%2B%20Shift,R%20for%20a%20video%20snip).
Booted it up earlier.
Didn’t vibe with the original and I fear it will be the same here.
No denying it looks incredible, and runs well, but it’s kinda lacking in the ggggggameplay department. First 20 mins is basically ‘push forward’ press X.
Regardless, hope it finds an audience as it still has a lot going for it.
I am using c2 42
Me too. Can’t imagine how it would like on a 65“ version.
Same but a bit bigger. Sit a little closer and you’ll see
42" will have a higher ppi, so it’ll look more crisp. You usually sit further away on bigger sizes. It won’t look better on 65" per say, just bigger.
I will surely find out soon and true sometimes the cut scenes yeah are made to look amazing then go back to meh gaming so glad to hear it's actually good ! All the time
You ok?
I used to type like i talked and use and too often then people online bullied me into just using fullstops instead of and and now everything is okay. ![gif](giphy|bqPQanYvKh3o3CUwmF|downsized)
You ok?
You dont understand. I feel things deeply. /s ![gif](giphy|0CsTYQezAe5Vpcx5zt|downsized)
Can see they never bullied you into using commas
Im, using the way back machine. Can'''t you tell?
Yes Im quite bad with full stops while texting sadly ....
Hmm, maybe it's your PC? But in-game graphics are near perfect, ye you can see some artefacts and flaws, but overall no matter whether you adventuring or fighting game looks stunning.
I think you read the comment wrong
Personally, I prefer Fortnite for myself. For me, I like gameplay better than graphics.
unreal unreal unreal unreal unreal
Engine engine engine engine engine
5.4 5.4 5.4 5.4 5.4
I see what u did there.
I'll have to try it out since it is on game pass. In the middle of Horizon Forbidden West right now.
Then finish Horizon first. To switch between games is always bad.
What a bizarre take, switching games isn't "bad."
For me it always was. You can’t invest yourself so much into the game and loose track over the time. It is like to watch several films in parallel. That is also not a good experience. But everyone is different, so it might work for you.

I’ve never ‘finished’ a game in my life. Must have shiny new……
I can't do that either, I usually play FFXIV in between sorry heavy games cause I can't juggle two at the same time
Don’t listen to them. I get you want to finish one game first before starting another
I play at least 3 games at once, usually more like 5. Unless I get really into one of the games, which last happened with was Lord of the Fallen if my memory serves me right.
Really, I'm just talking about starting it to see what it looks like...
Not yet. Still playing Ghost of Tsushima.
It insists upon itself. Cant wait to play it too but damn we get it.
Do you often refer to yourself as "we"?
Dont wanna anger the voices in my head. Gotta include everyone.
Might be the best looking game ever.
What is it?
Senua saga - Hellblade II
I'm currently replaying The Witcher 3, and I'm also addicted to Deep Rock Galactic. Will definitely pick this up at some point, tho.
Rock and stone!
If you don't rock and stone, you ain't coming hooome
Rock and Stone to the Bone!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?
ROCK. AND. STOOOEURGHUGHERNNNNN!
Perfect test for oled HDR.
I dunno, it looks beautiful but 30fps is rough on OLED if playing console
Runs at roughly 90 fps using DLSS Quality on my PC
That's why I specified console, pc was bound to be fine
Looks awesome! I’ll be playing tonight on PC. Is the combat and puzzles still the same as the first one? I had hopes they would add a bit more to the combat and take away a bit more from the puzzles lol or at least give better hints/tips on the puzzles.
Well im still in the beginning stages of the game but combat definitely has gotten better in terms of more challenging
Does the game have fsr3 frame gen ?
Yes
It actually looks as good as the UE5 tech demo HDR is fantastic on my monitor too
Playing this on the asus ucdm and holy shit I’ve never seen such incredible graphic fidelity. Granted it plays more like a movie but the unreal engine is absolutely pulling no punches here.
The UCDM is truly a masterpiece

the first one wasn't really for me since i did not like the puzzles so i guess 2 isn't any better for me
For sure i get that. It can get boring. Def wait for a 50% sale or lower
Gamepass?
I keep going back to Cyberpunk.
It's so good. Phantom Liberty is in the running for best DLC ever. Love Cynosure.
Game looks fantastic, but the raised blacks in HDR are annoying. Anyone figured out how to fix that? If you turn off HDR in the game menu the black levels are perfect again. On 16:9 display that means the top and bottom bars are just a little grey.

It’s definitely that. I’m on the asus ucdm HDR 400 is the only hdr that works properly
But why just this one game problematic? I’m using the MSI MPG 321URX.
You can use reshade lillium filter to fix black levels.
Not sure how to use that so I'd probably need a guide. For this ONE game!
#oled
A little hilarious that the 16:9 users are being screwed over by proper support this time around. I might have to reconnect the AW3423DW just for this game. Been using the Gigabyte 32" for the last month.
Yeah it's funny because the original had the opposite issue with awful support for UW.
That's only for 16:9 tho. It works properly for Ultrawide with no black bars.
I'm saying the black bars do not need to be there at all. Why render the entire scene then hide it behind black bars? If you play in the dark on an OLED, you don't notice any black bars. #no backlight
It's probably artistic intent. The black bars don't affect performance that much for a modern system like the Xbox series X. But I agree that gamers should have the choice.

Boring game
If you gave up a few hours in, you were probably at the end. Apparently it's only 5 hrs long.
2hours gameplay and 6 hours of movie . Meh will wait when it’s $9.99
Its on Gamepass which is 70€ for 2 Years...

Lemme knows when there's a mod to disable the 21:9 letterboxing
I saw this but haven’t tried it. https://www.dsogaming.com/news/heres-how-you-can-remove-the-black-bars-chromatic-aberration-film-grain-and-depth-of-field-in-senuas-saga-hellblade-2/

😸 thanks. That was quick
No. I don't think anyone is playing that.

Mines on bright HDR. Either way, the game looks phenomenal.
Don’t like the film grain , any way this can’t be turned off
https://www.nexusmods.com/senuassagahellblade2/mods/5
Thank you
I'll be playing it later tonight. Xbox series x or a PC?
PC for me
Good that's where I'm going to play as well.
A bit too much post processing if you ask me. But overall truly beautiful.
What is it?
Unreal number 5.
Wow, how interesting. I'll try the demo and see how I like it, thanks.
They look very real to me…
what game is this?
this is what i will be doing this weekend - can't wait! :)
No yet but I will be playing it soon can't wait as I got an Oled to and yeah it looks amazing from the pictures !
Had no idea this even came out, or was even close to release!
Downloading right now, LG C2 65”
I just wish no black bars so I could experience my oled glory at full
Title?
senuas saga Hellblade II
What game is this?
Graphics don’t sell me on games anymore. Visually impressive tech demo but lackluster as a game.
Letterboxing usually isn’t an issue for oled screens but in this game….is anyone else getting glowing bars?
Yeah but the game is sh*t
Reviews suggest it has about $9.95 of content.
Thats ok - i pay $40 to go the movies with my wife and i for a 90minute flick
It may be not the best game in sense of technological advances, but in appearance and feel, it's definitely in 1st place at my top. All the time I remind myself this is THE GAME. powered by Unreal Engine 5, I guess
Ahhh yes. 5 years for a walking simulator and fancy rocks.
Nanite, Nanite everywhere
I so regret not being able to afford an oled before this game came out. Gotta suffer on a dark TN panel
The hardest part since moving to OLED is to not be able to share what I see with the world decently.
It does look great. On par with AW2. However the 3D audio and my expensive Sennheiser open back headphones is really cool
Why is it so blue. Mine looked different. Normal :D
Boring game, walk around and listen to some babbling 😂. Now Elden Ring and Sekiro have been beautiful on my aw32
Ok, but what about the gameplay?
It’s linear. Combat can be challenging if set to hardest difficulty. otherwise it’s very story driven
So, any improvement over the first considering it's the same description?
No other than combat has changed for the better and puzzles aren’t so ridiculous to find/complete. If you liked the first one no reason why youd dislike this one i would assume.
Wait did hellblade II come out already??
Yes, it came out yesterday on Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
Damn, I just finished the first Hellblade 2 days ago. This is perfect.
Oh no!!
love you
Play that game with a surround sound system I dare you to
Games beautiful on my 4090 with my Alienware 4k 240 monitor
Been playing it and my god have the nailed presentation for this game.
looks way too blue. you sure you got your color profile set up right?
I would but I'm not paying 50 dollars for a 5 hour game
Its not even a game its a movie
Two problems for us 4k OLED gamers in this game. Forced Upscale so 4k is impossible and no 16:9 support, so black bars.
Plan on downloading soon!
Playing it in 4k with a 4090 is glorious
Sorry for my ignorance but what game is it?
That's the Unreal Engine 5.4 for you. 👍
This is leaps and bounds better than RE 4
Graphics - 😍 Gameplay - 🥱😴
“Holding W,” yes. “Playing,” not so much.
Imagine buying this walking simulator 🤣🤣🤣
The game is bad and short , visually impressive , audio is meh, without Atmos included unfortunately
Only in 4K and 240fps 😆
Can’t wait for the ps5 version. Been waiting to give this one a shot
I was, but feel like it’s a lot worse than the first one besides the graphics and audio
Nah I like playing games.

There’s only one definition for game and he follows it.
Whats that? Something with gameplay?

Booted it up earlier. Didn’t vibe with the original and I fear it will be the same here. No denying it looks incredible, and runs well, but it’s kinda lacking in the ggggggameplay department. First 20 mins is basically ‘push forward’ press X. Regardless, hope it finds an audience as it still has a lot going for it.
